The Verve - Love Is Noise [Acoustic Cover]

Love is Noise by the verve from what appears to be their final album, Fourth
I love pretty much everything that the verve have done, and Fourth was certainly no exception. Growing up in between Manchester and Wigan I remember when they played Haigh Hall and it was shown live on the BBC. I was very young but I still wanted to be there.
I honestly never thought I’d get to see them live but then when they reunited, I did.
I was actually in Wigan the day that they announced their reunion on the radio, as I was studying at Wigan & Leigh College. I quickly acquired tickets for the show at the GMEX in Manchester, and I couldn’t wait. On the day of the gig I was interviewed on the way into the show and asked to talk about the band, the reunion and how I felt about it. I told them that I was in Wigan on the day of the reunion, talked about liking them from a very young age and this being a dream come true. Then I enjoyed the gig and for absolutely nothing about it.
When Fourth was released the following year I bought it routinely without thinking much. I bought the Deluxe Edition as it came with a DVD containing some pro shot live performances and a short documentary about their reunion tour. Thinking very little of it, I watched the documentary and popped my massive young head in a New Order t shirt talking nonsense about being in Wigan on the day of their reunion and how much I loved the band. Couldn’t believe it, in a very small way I was part of history.
Ashcroft is very underrated as the songwriter, as is McCabe and the rest of the band and I hope they’ve got one last reunion in them at some point as I’d love to see them live one more time.
