Thank you Linda. AD dolls have the sweetest faces and they are done by award willing sculpt artists. I was surprise to discover that Sweet Blossom was more of a display doll rather than a play doll. Glad that she's been release somewhat from her stiffness, might remove her armature and move it into a different expressive doll.
Hi Yvonne! Blossom looks so much better with her new body! I've done this with 2 of my AD dolls and am much happier with them. I also found the same materials in the ones that I redid. Blossom is super cute, her face is adorable, and the outfit that you put her in is so cute.
Just FYI, AD is starting to put what's called "synthetic mohair" on their dolls, it's not as soft as what they used to use, it's not real mohair. My newest partial silicone Lily Rose has that type of hair, it's more like assembly line doll hair. Joy's Lily Rose had the same type of hair and she re-rooted it with mohair. Such a cute baby, she looks so much better with the new body. I like the armature that came with my princess Adelaide kit..that would work well with this doll too, as you have her on the right body for that. Wires warp after a while, don’t they.
I didn’t find anything like what you found in your AD, no bags of sand, only the poly pellets, some cloth bags with silicate sand, and a whhooooooole lotta stuffin’! Lol! Thanks for sharing your adventure with us, hugs , Joy

She is a beautiful baby girl, I’m so glad you could fixed her. I have found some of my babies with sand in them and gold painted rocks use for garden. You never know what you’re going to find inside of them. Thank you for sharing 🤗❤️
Oh my, a little treasure hunt! Yes, I'm always surprised with what's inside. One Reborn I opened up had a cat toy in it! Yes, it did! A brand new not chewed on, but still a cat toy!

I open my Jasmine goes to grandma and took out the sand and arms armature too, she’s so cuddly now and I love it 🥰 unfortunately I couldn’t find a new body for her.
Love that sculpt. I been eyeing that one for years. So glad you're happy with her, when you released her from being held back in movement. Bodies are harder to find, for sculpts that have a mixed matched limb sizes. I did find a few companies out there, can't remember the site right now to share but I too need a couple bodies for two other AD dolls. Looks like I may have to have it custom made, don't know yet. The armature, I like for posing. however I may move the armature into a different doll that it is very expressive.
She is beautiful now, I have a few A D babies and I did a little reborning on them using matte makeup and what a difference it makes in them, one of them has armatures and one of the arms broke and I prefer it because I can move his arm now. I wish I had the nerve to do what you did to Blossom.❤️🇨🇦

Hi Yvonne 👋 Ughhhh sand.. SAND. I know because of Ashton Drake dolls being mass produced they are doing what they can to make money stretch and affordable for people but sand ughhhh. I was tickled to hear that you liked seeing the progress as I took the doll apart and back together. I almost put on my scrubs for autopsy (discovery phase). I don't have a newer AD doll, wish that I did, as I wonder if there is still sand in the newer ones. I was somewhat surprised to see the contents listed on the label however it didn't list the wire.

I enjoyed watching your video of the Ashton Drake transformation, My AD doll also had armatures, however, mine was of the plastic ball-jointed kind. I removed them and the body bought a couple other bodies and tried the one, don't like it, now going to try another. Which would you actually recommend, the jointed or non-jointed for a 3/4 limb doll?

Hi Yvonne. It’s Ann. I’ve got Daddy’s Little Girl doll. She has armatures but I don’t like them in there because one arm is floppy and one is not. So good that you went and did this video so when I ever do decide to redo her I’ll know what’s in there. Thanks.
Oh that's a very cute sculpt. Sounds like the armature is pulled out on one arm. Glad to hear Ann, that you found the video useful. It was surprises as I went. The taking apart process was pretty easy, the armature can be pulled out of the limbs with some very slow effort. The fluff is packed into the limbs, so it would be best to as you pull, to remove bits of fluff along the way.

No I left the wires in the limbs. I fed the feet into the bottom then arms through. I hope that helps.
I got mine 3rd hand lol so mine didnt have armature and had a rip in her body her second momma tried to fix but it was still ripping. I got her a body last year for Christmas but havent been brave enough to take her apart lol. I also need some glass beads.
Is there a specific reason its bad for them to have the sand inside? I feel like I heard that somewhere but I can't remember why.

That is a very pretty doll. I've bought several artist reborn babies. They had sand in a bag for weight and sand in the arms and legs. What is wrong with sand? The dolls are heavy and beautiful.
Have you changed the body on there babys w the chest plate?
I have taken apart many of the ashton drake dolls and the arematures in them can be quite sharp on the ends as they often cut the length but dont always bend over the ends or file them so there not sharp i tend to always remove them i find they are much nicer and more cuddly with out them
Wow, how unsafe is that, the wire could poke through the vinyl and not only damage the vinyl but the collector could get harmed. Yes, I agree that they are cuddly without the armature. They are too stiff and removes all of the cuddle factor. On the other hand, I like take pictures sometimes I need more of the armature in them to hold a pose. I do have another AD doll that I wish had armature as she has an expressive type face, I may transfer it out for her.
@@havinguon7597 yes i had one come where the armature was poking the hand causing a lump in the palm almost coming threw but hadnt come threw so soon as i removed it the had was normal lump was gone and i knew one lady who had got one and the armature had come right threw the hand the company was really great they replaced the doll they are really good that way awsome to deal with

I saw where someone commented about not finding a new cloth body for the doll she took apart. How do you measure to get the correct size if you were going to order or buy one? I always thought the measurement on a doll is from the top of her head to the bottom of her feet. Is that measurement you need or just the torso , please.

Put the heaviest to the front
I have never owned an Ashton Drake baby doll and now I am not sure that I ever want to buy one. I hope that they don't put sand in their babies nowadays. These dolls are made over seas and they don't have quality standards like we in the U.S. Have you ever taken apart a Paradise Galleries baby doll? I am curious what might be in those dolls. We all pay out good money and I hate seeing the poor quality in a doll that is supposed to be good quality especially when I child is playing with one. The baby has an adorable face and now she looks to much better. Good Job
I don't know what the newer ones have in them. I seem to like the older sculpts and collect the older ones. I like the discontinued BB sculpts are on my list of must haves, I'm always hunting them down. But anyways, oh I do have a PG doll, hummm... I may take apart to see what's going on there. I wanted to do a body change anyways, but there will be a hunt for the body. I always excited though that award winning sculpt artists make dolls for AD and PG as the dolls always have very cute faces. I don't think they should put any sand in them, no weighing material is better than sand.

I buy them from Bountiful Baby.
Once I found out there was sand in AD dolls, I sent her back and never bought another one. It just grossed me out. I now buy PG dolls.

Yuri's bag of sand had a hole in it, it took a lot to clean that up. We have the same doll.
Oh no, I do have another AD doll that was a hot mess as I removed the head and the sand was spilling out. As you know very well, I love your Yuri. And I hunted down this sculpt for my collection, love the AD dolls with their sweet faces and they are done by very well known sculpt artists.
