    Very cool ingenuity! I need to do something like this to my zero turn

    Yep, good ideas! The pinned pivot at the center definitely is better than steering with the small wheels like the older version. I am sure that you got the dump settings dialed for the production version as well. I like that it uses the quick coupling attachment as well. For handling heavy loads and for going up and down hills this beats a wheel barrow hands down. I guess the price is on the web site. Good work on adding to the versatility of an already versatile machine!

    I did something very similar (except the springs and the latch) for a Grillo G52 walk behind tractor. it's smaller, however, VERY useful. One comment though: maybe you want to consider moving the barrow wheels slightly backwards (6-8inches) so that the center of mass of the barrow falls closer to the wheels, other wise a lot of stress/mass is pushing a lot in the articulated joint (may crack due to stress/fatigue).

    • @EarthTools
      @EarthTools  Před 4 lety +3

      Thanks for your suggestion. We considered that, but found that the longer the wheelbase, the better the rig handled...so what we did to keep the pivot-point from failing is that we made a SUPER-HEAVY-DUTY pivot point...our pivot has a 1" diameter pivot pin with 1/2" thick clevis "walls", all steel. There is no way it will ever fail.

    I think a video comparing the powerbarrow to the CAEB minicargo would be helpful. Video content about the minicargo is very scarce, but it sure looks like a nice product. I'm trying to weigh the pros/cons of springs in the powerbarrow vs active steering in the minicargo. Also, if going downhill with a load, what do you think of going in reverse to give maximum traction?

    - There was a trailer drawbar device on '?? New inventors? or something in Australia (ABC) 20 odd years ago with a"jointed drawbar" - ie, just -sort of - like yours. To reverse the trailer straight, or around a corner, it took the same inputs as simply backing the car, Their system used 2 gas struts pushing off the rear bumper of the car (or a bar connected to the sides of the trailer hitch, operation the same, add a link, reverse the steering input needed..

    It's a great idea I think that the PTO could drive a hydraulic pump. Then you can have a hydraulic power dump. And I was thinking maybe you could implement a place to stand so you can drive it without walking.

    Have you seen some Italian made two wheeled tractors, they come also with powered trailers, so they are actually 4WD.
    I have two of them. They are diesel powered with 12HP, they can go up to 24km/h (15mph).
    And they have a payload of about 600kg (about 1300lb).

    Do your tires have ballast in them. Looks like you need a little more traction when you have the red oak in it.

    • @EarthTools

      The wheels of the "wagon" are not powered...so Ag tires would not be much of an advantage. Thanks for your suggestion, though.

    What do the Italians think about your design ? I would of never thought of using springs. On a hill farm the front wagon work's better.

      @peterbarlow8912 Před 10 měsíci

      Looks like the tongue tabs of my cart will fit between the hitch tabs on the 735 to pin them together. I’d have to drill more holes in the cart tub to shift the axle. Moving the dump latch will require metal cutting slots and tabs on the tongue. Going to try the cart as is.

    Eventually, the will reinvent the Gravely and all its attachments.

    • @EarthTools
      @EarthTools  Před 4 lety +1

      Except we are doing it RIGHT this time...Gravely never figured out "reversible handlebars" to give a walk-behind tractor the option of front OR rear PTO.

      The planetary gear transmission with full time live PTO and instant forward and reverse is hard to beat. I would give up the rear PTO to get that.

    • @EarthTools
      @EarthTools  Před 4 lety

      To each their own... However, we have replaced DOZENS of Gravelys with BCS and Grillo machines, and by and large, the customers would never go back to a Gravely; they report that the few advantages the Gravely may have had are more than made up for by the ease of use, extra features and versatility of the more modern walk-behind tractors.
