I think you braked too much and too hard and therefore overloaded the controller with too much current... I think Hobbywing Max 4 is the "better" answer! After all, they can handle 2000 A peak and have an arm of capacitors that better process the overcurrents that are generated when braking. Even with heat dissipation the regulators would have burned out...

You can do 45 with a 12s6 and a good controller. I'd recommend an 18s6 p42a pack with a SKP controller.

How do you build your batteries?
I've only built 1.. then rebuilt1 it to make it crazier. I do it carefully, methodically, and strategically. It's honestly not that difficult if you have skills. Research and see if it's something you feel you can do.

I have 12s4p molicel 21700 in progress. Just researching what to use for the series connections. Official ratings say like 90 A for xt 90 and way larger gauge cable than just the standard 10awg I typically see used.
