During this presentation, we will take a 1st person look at what the vehicle is all about beginning with the start up, performance data, fuel economy, the occasional track data, and build quality. Also, I will teach you how to use most of the interior and exterior features in a detailed fashion, that before, you could only get from going to a dealership yourself! Throughout the video, I will highlight key styling and unique differences about the vehicle, any available options, and of course it would not be an enthusiast car video without the good ole engine portion with rev and exhaust note with interior and exterior perspectives. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHANNEL SEE BELOW: In this channel you will find in depth educational videos of automobiles from all over the world, presented in a more detailed fashion than ever before. Basically, this gives the viewer the chance to view the most detailed 1st person look you can get without going to an actual dealer yourself! Every video is consistent in the way I present so viewers know what to expect in my presentations. I treat every vehicle with the same respect whether a 1960 Chevrolet Impala SS or the 2012 Lamborghini Aventador. I film all types of vehicles from past, present, and future while broadening the knowledge of the automotive enthusiast. You will see everything from vintage, brand new, exotic, mainstream, old, etc. I am very proud of this channel and have built it up from amateur videos years ago to what you see today. I wanted to share my love for the automotive world with the rest of the world. Be sure to explore the massive video variety, have fun and enjoy The Driver's Seat of CZcams!

My dad gave my his Avalanche when I was starting university and I kept it into my graduate years, selling it when it was 16 years old, for the full book value. My sister and I used it for car camping in the mountains, long before overlanding was term, or a thing lol. It was stupid reliable and was the best (non Toyota) 4x4 I have ever owned. I am buying one purely for nostalgia!
Have you gotten around to buying one yet
This thing has literally everything I need. quad cab for the family and dogs, full size (well, CAN become a full size) bed for hauling lumber/plywood, decent motor, 4wd.
I'm kind of shocked that they killed it, it's insanely functional.
I feel the same way. They have good towing capacity too and they're cheap if you get older models.
Nowadays seems like they come out with new designs that are always worse. Just to get you to keep buying more vehicles
Lynn Mckenney I love mine so much
Sales numbers started to decline in the avalanche's last few years of production
@@carwhiz90 Weren't they fairly expensive when they came out? Might have had something to do with it
I honestly never knew the Avalanche could do that pickup truck conversion thing...pretty cool!
Oh yeah, a lot of people don't, it's so versatile!
***** MAN I LOVE THE SOUND AT THE BEGINNING!
zachmamaw1 Yes sir!
*****
I remember watching the first commercial when this vehicle debuted in 2002. Got change for a dollar is what it was called and it was funny as well
Always wanted one of these since seeing it in a truck magazine while in math class in high school.
get one!
I used to hate this truck, but over the past few years I've learned to like it. One of those vehicles that grows on you.
5.3 vortec engines is one of best GM engines built they can reach 300k to 400k if maintained
Ali Saleh What about 8.1?
My father have a 2006 GMC Suburban with 500k kilometres but it have a 6.0 liter engine and it's very reliable😍
Nawaf Dhaher so 300K miles
This is definitely the generation of GM Vortecs to get, because they didn't have that AFM tech which is notoriously bad on all their V8s.
@@jmoore4156 You can purchase a range disabler for $200 and plug it into the computer port. Works like a charm in disabling AFM. I bought a 2007 Chevy Avalanche in 2011, went and bought a Range disabler in the same day and it is running smooth at 382,000 miles
I know this is a 7 year old video, but I'm thinking of getting a 1st generation avalanche, and thought it would be fun to get a CZcams channel walk around. I hope you're still doing these video's, because when I watched yours, I got much more than I bargained for. Your presentation style is second to none, and where most video"s brush over the features I am interested in, you gave me a detailed in depth how to look at the functionality; and although I've been researching these vehicles for a bit now, I learned a number of things I was not aware of. Typically I have to watch a number of folks videos to get the tidbits of information I'm looking for, but ypur video was a one stop shop where I got all my questions answered, and I now like this vintage vehicle even more. Thank you for taking time out to make this vehicle video, you really helped me out. I wish you the best with your channel and all your endevours. Best Regards, Michael
did you get one?
Man..... I've been waiting 11 years for this review, now I have decided... I WANT ONE...!
Watched this video with my cup of coffee. Great way to start my morning! Thanks Kyle!
Thanks for watching!! :)
Saabkyle04. keep the good work
Try doing a 2008 Taurus x
I love this generation of Avalanche, it had a rugged design for when you actually needed to use it as a truck with plentiful lining, nice big non-colored plastic bumpers for when you bump into something and not have to worry about paying a fortune to re-paint or damaged body panels unlike the so called "bumpers" we have now a days that don't do much.
P😊
The mid-gate can be opened two different ways. The first way as shown in the video. The second way is you can leave the window in and just open the mid-gate. The locking mechanisms used to lock the window after it is pulled out also release the top portion of the mid-gate so that the window doesn't fall out when you open the gate. You can have the covers and window still on and crawl inside with a sleeping bag and still feel secure.
Kind of a easy camper if you will.
I just bought an old Chevrolet Avalanche 2004. And I have a lot to do! Good luck with everything! Greetings from Russia! Thanks
imported from USA? How much and how many miles?
I've always been a Ford man and still very much am to this day, but I gotta give credit where it's due, The Avalanche is one of the most comfortable trucks I've ever been behind the wheel of. Closest thing I've felt to the way the old boats of the 70's road on the highway.
I'm surprised how clean this car is. Most of the Avalanches that I see on the road today are scratched up, dirty, or have beaten up interiors.
we have one at the shop i work at as a work truck and yeah that thing looks nothing like this and its the same color and year. lol
lol that's because somebody took care of this one..and then the plastic was 'restored' sometime recently.
Really nice looking truck for an 2003..
It's nice to see he has started reviewing the old cars like he used to. Brilliant video as usual Kyle. Keep up the good work.
I'm so grateful that you take the time to review cars the average person can afford. The Aston Martins and Bentleys are great but these reviews keep me coming back.
I will ALWAYS have variety on this channel, a mix of everything for everyone :)
This has been one of the most understandable and informational videos ive seen in general 🤷🏼♂️
And by far the the best one on yt in regards to the avalanche 🤷🏼♂️💪💪💯
Ya boi just picked up an 04 base avalanche and i love it more than anything I've ever owned
I’m embarrassed to admit that I’ve owned my Avalanche for ~10 years and never knew how to open it up to make it a full size box until just now watching this video (I knew it could, just didn’t ever need too), lol! I will say, even now in 2020, the Avalanche is STILL hands down my most fav p/u I’ve ever owned and I fully intend to keep mine as long as I can. I just wish mine sounded as good as the one in this video. Great review...thanks!
I love that your reviews are getting more and more thoroughly, and that you are reviewing all sort of cars, not only new and fancy ones!
Always keep the variety up and trying to make the videos better :)
This old Chevrolet truck is badass this truck is for me when I get to high school.
This is the best, most extensive video I have found on the Avalanche
what a gorgeous avalanche you got. man you let me feel so bad about mine it ran almost 500k but I still in love with it
Are they really that good!?
Brian Avila yes, yes they are
One of the best videos I've seen. Great in depth showing of the vehicle.
THE best review of the Avalanche on CZcams. Well done. I pick up my '05 this weekend.
Wolf Patrick how is it
You do the absolute best reviews man. Hell of a truck as well, sounds so good.
Just got me a 2003, really helped i had no ideal how to take out the rear panels & how to do the window.
Great info!!!
I know this comment is 3 years old, but how do you like your 2003 Avalanche?! I'm looking to get one
@@TomTomTom87 get one. It really is good.
My 05 is still going strong with about 180k . Love the weirdness of it . Also love pulling out f150s in the snow haha.
You'll love this. I had to tow an F-150 4wd up a hill while rockhounding in Oregon....with my Xterra lmfao. Pathetic.
You know I don't really like this vehicle as a TRUCK, but as a vehicle in general, this is a very practical and genius segment. People who have families and want the room and comfort of an suv, but with the functionality of a truck. It's a shame GM was the only company with a crossover truck, and now it's gone so people in the market for this type of vehicle will have to deal with crew cab full size trucks or just an SUV.
Jessica Messica That’s not entirely true, Ford also has a crossover truck in the form of the Explorer Sport trac but that too was discontinued.
Cool truck! Sounds nice and looks VERY clean! Great vid Kyle, as always...
Great video, tutorial, review
audio, clarity & close ups 👌
If I was closer I would definitely
be a customer 👍👍
Loving the exterior cosmetics. Loved the engine bay even more. Beautiful truck Kyle!
You really do the BEST job on your vids!! I always love to watch them!
Too bad these types of vehicles aren't being made anymore, First the Ford Explorer Sport Trac, then the Avalanche & now the Honda Ridgeline. My dad drives a 2003 Sport Trac & it's a very cool design. Has almost 250k miles & still running strong!
Great Truck! My dad just got one!! Keep it up, man!
Brock
Thanks Brock, hope all is well on your end!
Brock Frady you still rocking that Onyx?
***** Going well. Need to grab lunch. I'd LOVE to hear all about Gumball...
Hey man, very good video! Few units of Avalanche were imported into my country, what a great truck! I love it. Greetings from Argentina.
We love these trucks. We have a black 2002 Z71 Avalanche that has 120k miles on it. Still runs and looks great. Also had a sunset orange 2008 Avalanche. To top of the lust cars my daily driver is a 2011 Charger RT Max. Great vehicles. Keep up the good work kyle!
2006 Chevrolet Avalanche LT Z71 (5.3L V8) Start Up Exhaust & In Depth Review
Probably my favorite vehicle on your channel, I own a silverado right now, but this will be my next purchase. Thanks for the constant videos. I would like to see more used cars. :)
Just bought an 05 with 80k miles and a Z71 PKG And you are the only good review of one on youtube
This vid completely made up my mind about what vehicle to buy with my inheritance but I'm gonna get an '06 z71 its perfect I have with 3 kids and I will still get to have a big truck when I need one. Thanx saabkyle04, love the video
this sounds better than any sports car
I also have a victory red 03 Avy, welcome to the club! Mine doesn't have the body cladding but came with the fender flares. 252,000 miles and still going strong!
Awesome video Kyle, I have a 2003 Z66 Arrival Blue and it is equally unstoppable!
2003!!!! That looks brand new! Brilliant work for keeping it in mint condition, and hello from London!
Thanks Alex, I appreciate that!
very cool, and for the massive blind spots and backing that thing up, no need to worry the cladding is there to protect that beast. I have an 02 the same color and a Z71, love it!!
Your videos are amazing! So glad I found your channel (:
I love those triangle shaped things on the Avalanche they are so awesome.
Great video kyle! I have an 03 also, dark spiral grey metallic Z71. I absolutely love it, I have yet to find a vehicle as practical for every day use, and if you stay out of it they are surprisingly good on gas! I average over 20 mpg on the highway. I was surprised to see you get one but glad to see it! It must be good if you got one lol. Keep up the great work
I had an opportunity to buy the 2002 or 4 or back in the day but it did have to high mileage on it and wouldn't u know it my insurance says get a new vehicle because it's totaled and I found a 2013 diamond edition avalanche with something low mileage I wanted and got it.. it's a truck but also a suburban or suv I love it and it's got more bells and whistles than my old truck very awesome avalanche
what was this quote unquote high mileage? My 2003 has 291K miles still runs like new best car i've ever owned actually. You got the Diamond? I hope you hold onto it forever!!
Phenomenal Review! Very informative, I’m looking to buy an 03 tomorrow. You have me sold. Thank you.
The truck looks so awesome! That sound is BEAST!!!
Love the truck man! I got an 05 LT Z71 and got 99k on and loving every mile on it!
Best of luck with the truck man! it will not let you down!
What a sound !! 5.3L V8 Daaang
Great review Kyle
We love you bro !
Thanks man!
I love this generation of GM vehicles. Even though this generations yukon, tahoe, and escalades have identical interiors they still felt "truck like". The 2007 models and better share their interiors with their car counterparts, for instance the impala and tahoe ltz look identical inside. Overall another great review. Thanks Kyle.
Another excellent video, thanks! Nice find in great shape-congrats! Those seeking the midgate overview: 22:15
Great job on the video, really well done. I have a nice 2005 1500 without the cladding, it is a little more plain but still performs great ;) I really like it.
The chevy avalanche is amazing
Nice avalanche!! I want one like this in black (when I'm older)
I'm older I want one now! 😄
omg that sound is such an eargasm
always loved these! would be my favorite "dream" truck to own if i could
Finally got mine and I love it!! Great video
I always liked the Avalanche. My neighbor owns a 2006 Avalanche. Looks exactly like yours (except the exterior and interior colors) but has sunroof. Last year I traveled 200km (124mile) with my neighbor in his Avalanche and you're right, it has a smooth and comfortable ride (I can say that almost smooth as my 2010 Ford Explorer Limited)
Very detailed and informative video!!
Nice truck, I always thought the Avalanche was an ugly impractical truck due to the side panels and its small bed, but your video has made me see otherwise. Avalanche is now on my top list next the next time I need to buy a car lol.
Glad to hear it!!
@@saabkyle04 avalanche was my early childhood pickup along with a chevy blazer and a chevy uplander
@@fakejeepman06 I think he sold it a few years back. Said he didn't need a big truck anymore
man i love your exaust kyle! keep up the great work!!
my dad recently got one, its a 2005 with 230,000 miles and I absolutely love that truck!! such a nice truck to drive and so comfortable, it needs new shocks and a radio but other that that it's a perfect truck
it's really a sub because the cab body and the bed body are attached
SUV not sub
Awesome review. I’m in the market for a mid 2000’s tow rig. I’ve been debating whether I should get another Trailblazer or a pickup, and then I took notice of the avalanche. Your review has me sold.
A lot of after market goodies under the hood! Great vid Kyle and great car!
BTW the exhaust sounds like straight pipe lol
Great review brother - looking at one used with 106k on it now!!! Glad I watched this, very helpful!
Hey Kyle! Beautiful Avalanche and nice review. What brand of exhaust do you have on this?
Flo
My dream truck is a Ram SRT-10. But this is definitely number 2 on my list. Oddly intriguing
looking forward to getting me an Avalanche. this video just sealed the deal.
My parents have an 03, we have driven it when 4 people 600+ miles for years, its a great vehicle. We had a problem with it when we first had it, and the dealership here eventually thought we were pulling there leg. Fortunately when we went on vacation in Michigan that dealership actually found the problem. The power when we first got it was off, the plant who assembled it gave it the wrong foot pedal, it had the dieasal foot pedal and not the regular unleaded pedal, which made the power of the engine suffer.
Wow, that's quite interesting, no issues from this one so far.
*****
It has the current gas pedal =) lol
***** I was thinking that your older avalanche vids were very good but could be updated and this was just the ticket! Thank you so much for your amazing videos. My dad owns a 2002 chevy avalanche NORTH FACE EDITION that is just amazing! It has a lot of rust because of being in NY for a couple of years and it is very expensive to fix the rocker panels and the rear quarter panels. Watched your video about the north face one and that is a very nice paint color! really wish ours was the green, ours is just the black. Also, watched the sport trac one and I own one of those. Very good little trucks! I love the SUT (sport utility trucks). I have not seen a video on the Subaru baja from you yet (suggestion). There seems to be an issue with the mid gate and the covers that tends to leak. Do you have any issues with yours? Yours looked so nice that I doubt that you have any issue with water leakage. But thanks for you amazing videos!
Nice truck, Kyle. I've always liked the Avalanche since it was released. It looks bad ass!
Nice truck Kyle! It looks like you take good care of it. Low miles as well!
I bought my 04 Z-66. All opps New,. w/o clad. I still have it. 5-2020. I've kept it like new w/ 152k. Runs great and fast and smooth ,. All dealer work. Stock. Except for 20" wheels. Witch the factory did up date , same over all tire size and does ride better ,. Stock exhaust sleeper fast for a big truck myn came with 295hp 330 ft lbs k&n air filter adds 7 ponys just over 300 up,. The factor air box is a cold air set-up. No need to change that , those after market filters that take air from under the hood suck hot air , not cool air , A/c is great my daughter calls it the meat locker , we live in AZ hotter than hell ,. This guy's truck is very nice ,.
I really love the look of the newer ones. I somewhat liked the look of these when they were new, but it never really grew on me. Can't deny it's versatility though.
Dude! I hope you doing Vehicles reviews as a job Profession because this review was great.
What a sweet ride. Just got my 2003 a month ago. So far I love it.
I kind of call it the perfect "city truck" easy to drive around and yet not hard to park.
And not gonna haul much plywood anyway.
How is your 2003 Avalanche Fred? I have a n 03 Z66 Sunset Orange 130,000 miles
i never liked the earlier avalanche's i don't like the plastic panels on the lower sides, but man this one is clean, it must be a challenge keeping all those cars spotless
Love the video I'm on the fence about buying one of these? This was very helpful thank you.
doing perfect like always saab i love your review very informative and every detail of it keep it up bro
One of my favorite Trucks in general.
Kyle you can replace that missing rubber stop inside your fuel door at any GM dealer. You can also order and replace the driver seat cushion cover (leather) and have any competent upholstery shop replace it (make sure to order it with the seat heater if yours is so equipped).
What brand of brush guard do you have on your truck? Very nice!
We ordered our '04 Chevy Avalanche in December of '03 and still enjoy driving this vehicle today.
If you ever hear a popping sound when turning into a driveway, it's the body mounts. Your dealer can replace the offending one if you can isolate which area the sound is coming from. Hope you enjoy yours as much as we have ours.
Love the truck Kyle! I would really love to buy one once I'm out of college. Good review!
Absolutely gorgeous truck
Amazing video! I would want that truck so badly. It sounds so badass!
My first vehicle is the 05 model and I love it
One of my favorites Kyle
The exhaust on there is everything.
I am convinced and buy one.
Thanks for the information!
Hmm this truck is surprisingly well-equipped for an '03 GM product. Well, anyway, it's great to see you back in the office, Kyle!
I hope they bring Avalanches back! They are such a great car!
*truck*
These are the best!!
Great looking (and sounding) truck saabkyle04!
Thank you!
wow! thats a very clean truck!!
-greetings from the philippines!
This is honestly a pretty cool design.
This old Chevrolet truck is handy dandy and cool.
