  • The RRF is the Network of Francophone Repeaters. Like a "Super-Relay", it connects different access points and repeaters all around the globe. To access the network, all you need is an FM transceiver. They used a very efficient codec "OPUS" which make the communications via the Internet sounds exactly a local FM station. They built a nice dashboard web page and a lot of software to manage the network and control any interference efficiently. If you are looking for a project for your club or group, this is base on an open-source platform that can be replicated. This is a good way to increase local analog repeater activities with a low-cost access for users compared to digital mode as all radios support FM. Please subscribe and follow us as this subject will be a video series covering every details.

Hi Pascal. I'm a Brazilian ham who recently moved to Montreal. I find your channel awesome because I can hear someone speaking quebecois about a subject I know, it does help me learn some more new words in French. There's something I miss in your channel though, which is DX videos. By that I mean, videos like the ones from k4swl where you don't care about the editing and just vlog yourself doing some DX. That would be good content for hams and even for people who don't know the hobby

What this closest mode this compares to with existing linking modes? Allstar plus ability to connect to repeaters?

Hi Mike, I guess this is a mix of Allstar and Echolink, including the concept of Hotspot used in digital modes. 73 Pascal VA2PV
