I think you don't understand the man , because he speaks Arabic . He told you there's a free Beach after the police station , but you don't get the meaning
Holy shit Ben , you look like a new man . Definitely a tourist city , looks like you couldnt wait to get out of there . Merry Christmas and a Happy new year to you .
I am living in Hurghada since 5 years - and I have never been so happy... Among friendly people, under year-round sunshine, at the amazing Red Sea, with unlimited activities and stunning things to see... The entrance to the public beach is 20 Egyptian pounds now, just 0.65 US$, and the buses 3 EGP - 10 cent, certainly not a fortune for a visitor! And in what you call "slums", they are just popular neighborhoods, without any violence or prostitution like it is the case in Vancouver's real "slum"...
Ah man I wish I had found some free beaches though. I just can't bring myself to pay to walk on a public beach, but I understand that it's not a fortune. I'm sure life in Hurghada is great when you know the area, but it just wasn't what I expected and not what I was looking for.
Hi Alvaro, unfortunately I didn't visit any other beach town on the Red Sea coast but I went to Dahab in Sinai on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba and it was wayyy more beautiful. I highly recommend Sinai and Dahab. I made a video of my experience there as well. And thank you for watching!
@@benbrazyoutube Nice, loving your channel. Good tip, maybe mayke it to Dahab. What about Sharm el Sheik or el gouna? Are you making videos of those beaches? haha I am from the amazon, just discovered you also been there
Unfortunately I only passed through those places so I didn't really see them. I'm on my way to Asia now and will be there for the next few months. The Amazon was one of my favourite regions in the world! Which part are you from? I'm hoping to return next year and travel through the Brazilian part
1:30 That's what I experienced when I was forced by a security guard to turn around at the far end of the Marina and walk to the mosque. Nothing but slums and slum shops. That's the real Hurghada. Travelling with a guide a few days earlier the guard had let us through a shortcut, but going back alone I was told I had to turn around and walk all the way back then plod through crumbling roads past dirty, run down shops and cafes with locals sitting outside giving me suspicious looks. Walking around alone off the tourist trail isn't advisable.
Ah wow interesting story, thanks for sharing. Yeah it's unfortunate that even in a very touristy city there are really slummy areas and obvious poverty.
Hurghada is one of the safest cities in the World, and you can walk around safely day and night, without any risk. Wherever you go, if you go there with a negative opinion in mind, you will search for any detail confirming your negative idea...
Why your guys want to go to Hurghada? It's a tourist city and always was; snorkeling, diving, sunbathing that's all...no actually sightseeing...and yes there are several free beaches in town

Ah ok my mistake. Thank you for clarifying that for me, and thank you for watching.
