I am feeling very low because I am estranged from a dear friend. This is the only song that comforts me. I have cried many times listening to the words. It helps me to heal and breathes new hope into me.

Now think back to what I said earlier, about our belief in this world not being the great singular joy in itself that the atheist says it is. Such a world is a training ground for heaven to us, then, to teach us the mercies of God. We would not know this mercy if we didn't also know our failures.

As for small children going to Hell, the Bible says we are all born with iniquity even in the womb (ps 51), but Isaiah pointed out, somewhat indirectly which may explain why no one talks about it since it's not part of the context, in Isa 7:15, that there is a certain age of accountability, that is, an age in which we see and understand right from wrong. Any parent knows their kids teach themselves how to lie, steal, etc. Before then, they can't be judged yet. Iniquity has not yet taken root.

I often wonder if those who call themselves 'christians' because they were born of christian parents would have instead been Muslims if they had happened to be born in the Middle-East instead of the Mid-West.

Jesus said we must reborn of water and the spirit. Nicodemus was there when he said this, a man of great learning regarding the scriptures, a man searching, like you, who even Jesus said was a great teacher. Of course in error... but.. the Gospel won hearts... and then many generations later, a "Nordeman" woman would worship the Savior. That is the power of God, and his Amazing Grace! Ndzoko, I'm certain that you've caused pain to another human, as we humans do. I'm certain that God did not reach down and stop you from doing the act that caused pain- He allowed you to continue in your free will. The pain in this world comes from sin of humans or sin of the world and satan's attacks on us. When I sin, I reap consequences of my actions, but when I became Christian, satan attacked as never before. Jesus laid down His life and then defeated death so that we would have life.
