When I was 5 years old my mother died of cancer. She left behind my brother who just turned 8 and my sister who just turned 4. I heard her favorite song was this song. She loved Jesus and all 3 of us will see her again!. The year was 1955.
What a great hope! To see your Mom again! Jesus is our Blessed Hope.
Yes! I was ailing with cancer myself ... I preyed to that bastard JeZEUS only to get sicker and sicker and sicker ... I dumped that ass whole and embraced heavenly Father ... DOORS OPENED WIDE!!! He gave me over 25 more years and tonnes of knowledge! Praise be to Heavenly Father and to Hell with JeZEUS who is the LORD of the Rings of Saturn! You might like to rethink being a SLAVE to the LORD of the Rings of Saturn and return to being a son of Heavenly Father!
1955 was the year i came to America at age ten. i was so frightened upon landed in Greenville, MS. I have never seen so many Black folks nor speaks a word in English. I was raised in Hong Kong orphanage when both my parents were murdered at the end of WWII Japanese occupation of HK. I was only 9 months old when my uncle and my eight years old sister who carried me on her back to the Fanling Babies' Home in Fanling NT. To make this testimony short, God watched over me through many trials especially going through Viet Nam War nearly killed during the Tet Offensive of 1968 wounded by a 122mm rocket landed few yards from our two story wooden barrack. I would not have this opportunity to write this God's unseen hand, carried me through the flood and fury fire. Praise God!

What a real life experiences where God who carries through these and many difficulties so today we join with you to praise His goodness and faithfulness . Amazing
I was a hospice nurse for 10 years. I have sang this chorus at least 100 time as followers of christ took their last breath. God bless me with a voice to sing for his glory. One family member said as her grandmother passed. "It was like you sang a lullaby to her as she entered heaven ".

I was not raised in church, but I heard this hymn when I did attend with various friends as a kid. Years later, as an adult, self medicating with alcohol and drugs, trying to escape from my childhood trauma, my past, my mistakes, I had come to the very end of my rope. I fell to my knees and cried out to God and asked Him, WHAT did I need to do to get rid of my addiction to alcohol and rid myself of these horrible feelings. At that very moment, God sent this hymn to my mind. As I heard the lyrics in my head and LISTENED to the words, I realized God was telling me, I just had to turn my eyes on Him, stay focused on Him, and HE would take care of the rest. And He did. He cured me of my need for alcohol. A week later a friend had asked me to drink with her, not thinking, I agreed. When I tried to drink, I drank a half of a beer and got immediately sick. Nauseous and instant migraine. Then I remembered what He promised. It took me a long time, but God never gave up on me
You’re so lucky. It’s true you’ve obviously had a divine intervention. He has spoken similarly to me. When it happens you know it. Give glory to Him!
🍃(2) THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "the last age in which God saves man from the destruction of this old world"
"God and Man Enter into Rest Together". ... (The approaching end of all things indicates the end of God's work and indicates the end of human development. Adam and Eve in the beginning did not do evil, but Adam and Eve who were cast out from the Garden of Eden made evil by Satan. When God and Man enter into rest together, Adam and Eve--who were cast out of the Garden of Eden--and their descendants will come to an end.; mankind, of the future will still consist of the descendants of Adam and Eve, but they will not be people who live under Satan's control. Instead, they will be people who have been saved and purified. This will be a humanity that has been judged and chastened, and one who is holy. Only this group of people will enter into the final rest with God. The essence of God's work of chastisement and judgment is to purify mankind, and it is for the day of the final rest. This phase of His work is His most--delicate work. This is the last stage of the totality of His rule. When He finishes His work, all mankind will be completely holy.)
Almighty God said
These are what is NECESSARY for GOD and MAN to enter REST. The APPROACHING END of ALL THINGS SIGNIFIES the END of GOD'S WORK and SIGNIFIES the END of HUMANITY'S PROGRESS. ☀️
This MEANS that HUMANITY made EVIL by SATAN has REACHED the END of PROGRESS, and that the DESCENDANTS of ADAM and EVE are MULTIPLYING their ENDS, and this also MEANS that it is IMPOSSIBLE for such HUMANITY, that SATAN has ALREADY made EVIL, to CONTINUE to PROGRESS. ☀️
ADAM and EVE in the BEGINNING were NOT made EVIL, BUT ADAM and EVE who were THROWN OUT of the GARDEN of EDEN were made EVIL by SATAN. When GOD and MAN ENTER TOGETHER into REST, ADAM and EVE---who were DRIVEN out of the GARDEN of EDEN---and their DESCENDANTS will COME to an END; the HUMANITY of the FUTURE will STILL be MADE UP of the DESCENDANTS of ADAM and EVE, BUT they are NOT people who LIVE under the COVERAGE of SATAN. ☀️
INSTEAD, they are PEOPLE who are SAVED and PURIFIED. This WILL BE a HUMANITY JUDGED and PUNISHED, and ONE who is HOLY. 🙏☀️
These people are not like humanity in its originality; one could say that these are a completely different type of people from the original Adam and Eve. ☀️
These PEOPLE were CHOSEN from ALL the PEOPLE made EVIL by SATAN, and THEY were the PEOPLE who LAST STAND STAND during the TIME of GOD'S JUDGMENT and PUNISHMENT; THEY are the LAST REMAINING GROUP of PEOPLE in the MIDST of EVIL MANKIND. Only this GROUP of PEOPLE will ENTER the FINAL REST with GOD. 🙏💐
The PEOPLE who will STAND STANDING during GOD'S WORK of JUDGMENT and PUNISHMENT in the LAST DAYS-----that is, DURING the FINAL WORK of CLEANSING----are PEOPLE who will ENTER the FINAL REST with GOD; therefore, PEOPLE ENTERING REST are ALL who LOST the INFLUENCE of SATAN and GAINED by GOD just AFTER UNDERGOING His FINAL WORK of CLEANSING. ☀️🙏

Otherwise, all mankind will not be able to follow their own kind or enter into rest. This WORK is the ONLY WAY for MAN to ENTER REST. When His WORK is FINISHED, those PEOPLE who REMAIN will be CLEANSED and ENJOY a more WONDERFUL SECOND HUMAN LIFE on EARTH as they ENTER a HIGHER realm of HUMANITY; in other words, they will ENTER the DAY of MANKIND'S REST and LIVE with GOD. 🙏
AFTER UNDERGOING PUNISHMENT and JUDGMENT those who cannot REMAIN, their ORIGINAL FORMS will be FULLY REVEALED; AFTER this they will ALL be DESTROYED and, like SATAN, will NOT be ALLOWED to REMAIN ALIVE on the SURFACE of the EARTH. 🙏
Humanity in the future will no longer consist of any of this type of people; these people are not fit to enter the land of ultimate rest, nor are they fit to enter the day of rest shared by God and man, because they are the target of punishment and the wicked, and they will not be corrected a person. 😪
They were ONCE REDEEMED, and they were also JUDGED and PUNISHED; they also ONCE SERVED GOD, but WHEN the LAST DAY COMES, they will still be REMOVED and DESTROYED because of their OWN WICKEDNESS and because of their OWN DISOBEDIENCE and being--un-redeemable. They will NOT EXIST in the FUTURE WORLD, and they will NOT EXIST among HUMAN RACES in the FUTURE.☀️
ANYONE and ALL who DO EVIL and ANYONE and ALL who are NOT SAVED will be DESTROYED when the HOLY in the MIDST of HUMANITY ENTERS REST; NO MATTER whether they are spirits of the dead or those still alive in the flesh. Regardless of whether the time includes spirits who do evil and people who do evil, or spirits of righteous people and people who do righteousness, anyone who does evil will be destroyed, and any person who is righteous will live. ☀️
Even a person or spirit who receives salvation is not entirely decided based on the work of the end times, but rather is determined based on whether they have fought or disobeyed God. If people in the past did evil and could not be saved, they were undoubtedly targets for punishment. ☀️
If the people of this age do evil and cannot be saved, they too are certain targets for punishment.
PEOPLE are SEPARATED based on GOOD and BAD, NOT based on TIME.
Once SEPARATED based on GOOD and BAD, PEOPLE WILL NOT IMMEDIATELY be PUNISHED or REWARDED; INSTEAD, GOD WILL ONLY PERFORM His WORK of PUNISHING the EVIL and REWARDING the GOOD AFTER He PERFORMS His OPPRESSIVE WORK in the LAST DAYS. 🙏
In truth, He USED GOOD and EVIL to SEPARATE HUMANITY ever since HE STARTED DOING His WORK in the MIDST of HUMANITY. ☀️
He will only REWARD the RIGHTEOUS and PUNISH the WICKED ONCE His WORK is PERFECTED, INSTEAD of SEPARATION of the WICKED and RIGHTEOUS ONCE His WORK has been PERFECTED at the END and THEN IMMEDIATELY SET His WORK of PUNISHING EVIL and REWARDING GOOD. His FINAL WORK of PUNISHING the EVIL and REWARDING the GOOD will be COMPLETELY COMPLETED to COMPLETELY PURIFY ALL HUMANITY, SO He CAN BRING a PERFECTLY HOLY HUMANITY into ETERNAL REST. ☀️🙏
This PHASE of His WORK is His MOST----DELICATE WORK. This is the LAST PHASE of the TOTALITY of His GOVERNMENT WORK. 🙏
If God did not destroy the wicked and instead let them remain, then all mankind would still not enter into rest; and God cannot bring all mankind to a better kingdom. 🙏
This type of work is never completely finished. When He FINISHES His WORK, ALL HUMANITY will be COMPLETELY HOLY. Only in this WAY can GOD LIVE SAFELY in REST. 🌷
People today cannot be separated from the things of the flesh; they cannot leave the pleasures of the flesh, nor can they leave the world, money, or their evil disposition. 😪
Most people continue their efforts in a disinterested way. In fact, God is not really in the hearts of these people; moreover, they do not fear God. God is not in their heart, so they cannot understand all that God does, and even more cannot believe the words that He speaks from His mouth. 🙏

The kingdom He brought down and set up in the highest in the sky so that it can occupy His creation in the universe and engrave on it the entirety of His Holy name "THE CHURCH OF ALMIGHTY GOD" 💐 fulfillment of (Mat. 16:18) "And I say as for you, you are Peter, on top of this rock I will build my Church, that even the power of death will not prevail over it.". ... and "The Letter to the Church in Philadelphia" (Rev. 3:7-13). ... 📩 Calling and leading the sheep of God to His glorious Throne "THE CHURCH OF ALMIGHTY GOD"💐 to submit again to His authority so that He will continue to teach, guide and protect even in plague, famine and wild animals will not be moved by it and completely win this final battle with the big red dragon!

As an elementary age child in the 60s, we often sang this chorus in Children’s Church. But one time as I was mindlessly singing, my eyes fell on a picture of Jesus in the room. Suddenly, I realized that like the song I had “turned my eyes upon Jesus.” But then something miraculous happened; the sounds of other singers did indeed “grow strangely dim” and for the first time I was strongly aware of His very real Presence! I knew then that I wanted to serve Him and devote myself completely to Him for the rest of my life! I am now almost 69 years old and that Presence is more real and alive than I could have imagined then!
40 years ago a 12 years old girl walk down the isle of a church to declare that she accepts Jesus as her savior. Then the whole family come and serve the Lord. Now 3 generations serve the Lord because of this Hymne

I'm an Indian citizen but from Japan basically. I'm 44 now, but many missionaries from America came over to teach us English. And one of my favourite teachers taught me this song, 'Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus'. In the chaotic life in India, this song always brings me great comfort.
I am dealing with health issues at 70 as a retired nurse. I have fibromyalgia and a pacemaker. I care for my 91 year mama who has had a stroke and dementia and my husband who has had 3 strokes. Thankfully both of them can still get around at this time. I try to look to Jesus daily for strength for that day because I don’t know the future but he does. I like Matthew 6:33-4. It helps me focus on important things and remember that I need to take 1 day at a time because the future belongs to my Saviour and I have heaven to come!

My husband sang this song to me during the Covid Craziness, when fear was all around us. He went to be with the Lord in January of this yr. 2023.
I am 62. I grew up in the Assembly of God church. We sang this song. Funny how the words stay with you. God is so good!!! I sang this song to my dad as he was on his death bed. He so wanted to see Jesus. Then again when my brother was in hospice. The night before he died, I sang this song and so many more. As my loved ones left this world, I wanted them to hear His name before they met Him.

I was saved at 7 years old. In my church we prayed in the altars on Sunday night. As a teenager serving Jesus I sang this chorus as I sought God for strength to be faithful to my commitment to Christ. Today at 74 years old it still rings true

I couldn’t agree with you more!! I personally think it’s a trick of the devil to erase memory of these beautiful expressions of solid theology. And what have they been replaced with? Shallow little unsingable ditties that have no melody much less any appreciable music composition or structure beyond maybe three chords. Give me the hymns anyway!!

The first sign of a problem/error in your church is when the leaders allow the music to become “modern” as that music is more man-centered and uses a back-beat. Satanic music seems progressive or modern but it’s deceptive because its goal is to feed your flesh.
We who truly love God are blessed for all eternity. Be sure of that.
Why are these hymns being forgotten? Because Satan convinced people that Contemporary Christian Music, was better, and would bring people into the church, which means more money in the offering plate. Rock and Roll was a powerful force in the shaping of our modern culture away from the godly society we had. Now it is in the church, doing the same thing. The music style of the world brought the tares into the church and the hymnals were taken out. So much God glorifying music was set aside along with biblical teaching.
It is not that CCM is not good to listen to, that is the problem. People are falling in love with the music, more than loving the Lord himself, all the while thinking they are giving him proper praise.
Last February I lost the love of my life...a partner and husband for 65 years. No other trial has come close to this grief. My granddaughter sent me a card with those wonderful words..Turn your eyes upon Jesus....a wonderful comfort and reminder...this journey is not traveled alone!

I needed to hear this. I felt so lonely today and I was awake during the night feeling sad and lonely, but listening to this gave me my perpective back. I am not alone, Jesus is my faithful Friend.
I so often struggle in my own strength but when I turn my eyes on Jesus and the cross I see that He did it for me and all I need to do is receive.
I'm in Sweden and we sing the chorus here too but I love the verses in english.

A young mentally challenged man from our church in NL left his Sunday school seat shortly before the classes began and walked to the platform . He picked up a guitar which one of the musicians had left there from the morning service. Many people that the guitar would get dropped and broken and held their breath and waited. The young man took the guitar , strap around his neck, took the pic and began perfectly playing and singing " turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderfu face". Needless to say, he made quite an impression to many that day,and I will never again hear it sung with such simplicity, honesty and perfection.
We sang this for years in our Baptist church. It’s a shame that churches have abandoned singing these beautiful songs.
I’m a Baptist Church organist and am very very grateful to be playing for a church that hasn’t abandoned the great hymns. It distresses me that seemingly all of a sudden these priceless hymns were somehow declared “irrelevant” to modern times. I’ll keep fighting to keep our great hymns alive as long as I can play!
The “new” songs are shallow and could be any love song. Hymns carried such deep meaning and powerful worship for our one and only true King of Kings.

Our church still sing songs like this. It can heal and direct hearts to Jesus! One of my favorite.
I began piano lessons when I was 4 years old, played piano for my first wedding at age 12, and filled in at my church when the pianist was absent. At age 15(1965), during the night, I suddenly woke and felt God impress upon me that I must sing too. I woke my mother and she said, “Then do what God has laid on your heart”. I searched through dozens of hymnals I could find and felt this song was the one I must sing(I had never heard it before.) Before I graduated from high school, an album had been made and a weekly TV program was filmed. One of my degrees is in vocal performance and I continued to record, not for sale, but give away tapes & CD’s. God has opened doors all over the USA and Brazil to sing for His glory and share my testimony of surviving two cancers and His grace through it. Now, at 73, I have learned the inspiration behind this song(thanks to you) and the similarities of the writer’s and my spiritual and musical journeys. God knew the similarities of Helen Lemmel and my stories and why it must be the first song I publicly sang! PRAISE BE TO GOD!

I was born again in 1971 and this hymn is so connected to that time. I sing it many times and it always takes me to that precious time I accepted Jesus as my Saviour. ❤

I learned the chorus as a child about 5 decades ago. It wasn't until 3 months ago that I heard the entire song. Listening to the song, Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus helped me through a time of intense sorrow. With a heart full of gratitude, I am thankful to our Loving Savior Jesus who led me through a journey of healing.

I remember this song, but just the chorus, from my youth. When my elderly uncle was ill, I called him and sang this chorus to him. He kept me singing it over the phone, again and again, for about an hour, saying 'Again', every time I thought I would finish. Wonderful words to dwell on when you're facing a crisis.

This was my husband's favourite hymn. He would sing it all the time. He got Pancreatic cancer and he would often sing it during some of his most painful times. It was the only hymn he requested for his funeral service. It is the gospel put into music and words and you sang it so beautifully. Thank you.

As a very new Christian I learned this song and it still means so much to me. The year was 1969.
I so remember the congregation singing this song "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus" at a funeral when I was about 5 years old; about 60 years ago. The funeral was at a small (80 in attendance) rural country Kansas church; "Swedish Evangelical Mission Covenant Church" I recently came across this Luke Powell channel, and I referred this channel to a lady who was a family member of the person who had passed away those 60 years ago. She is about thirty years older that me and was a friend of my mom's. She's now 94 and I've referred several of her favorite hymns from Luke Powell's channel; "How Great Thou Art" and "It Is Well With My Soul" which she replied back with a big "thank you"! How we look forwad to singing in Glory!
We sang this as a chorus many times years ago but I never knew there were verses. I love this song. Living in our chaotic and upside down world today, it’s even more important that we “turn our eyes upon Jesus!” That’s where the peace is, being in His presence.

Thank you so very much for sharing this. I heard this song for the first time when I was 17 years old. I never went to church until one day i was required to go to a service for school. This song described exactly as I felt at that moment - "weary and troubled with no light in my darkness." This song helped me find my way to the Light of the World, Jesus the Saviour.
My Dad was blind from a very young age from Glauucoma. He grew up in Sunday School and church all his life and taught us to do the same. He love singing and had a beautiful voice. We sing a lot in our household and we learned a lot of beautiful Hym y at a very early age, thanks to my Dad . May he RIP

After a home invasion by balaclava-wearing men armed with guns and knives - and a miraculous Godly escape from what was intended to leave us as corpses - the chorus of this song played over and over in my head, day and night, for months ... and complete healing and peace filled our lives. Even today, whenever I feel a hint of anxiety, I remember the power of God's presence and I sing this chorus. Thank you Jesus!

You sang this and played so beautifully and heartfelt. I lost my 35 yr old son a year ago and it has been the most painful time of my life. He loved all these sacred songs and played his guitar and sang to Jesus every Sunday for years. At his funeral so many people said when they were down and out, they always knew he had a listening tender heart. He told them how much God loves them. I didn’t know he had touched so many people that way! I’d tell him, you like to go fishing a lot but you should be a fisher of men’s souls! Well little did I know, he did just that all along! That has been a comfort to me even though it has been so painful not to talk or laugh to him, sing with him or hug him. It’s been so hard on all the family. He was like a light when he walked into the room. Sorry to ramble but I thank you. 🙏🏼

It was on December 10, 1965 that I was invited to Evangel Temple in Toronto. Hearing Pastor Hope Smith sing the chorus of this song as the young adults knelt by their chairs in prayer, "the things of earth" did indeed "grow strangely dim" for me as the presence of the Lord knocked on my heart's door. I'm so glad I opened it to Him that night.
My life is a battle every rock that could be on my road is placed. But every day I turn my eye's up to Jesus. He is the only person I could relay on. He is my power for every day. He is my life. Blessings too everyone. Every day is a Blessing.
I am 67 I learned chrorus it in church when I was small mother. When losses my ways in the Lord it came to my heart I believed Jesus and I hanged on promises. I was restored. I went mission in South Korea and I learned all the lyrics.

How very wonderful… the family name is Jewish; Lemmel means ‘endearing Yiddish for Lamb’. To turn and look into the Face (Panim in Hebrew) of Jesus is to see The Light, and that Light shines upon you, as you gaze upon Him. There is no shadow of turning in Him 👑 or His Father. Over 30 years ago I suffered work burnout which was so bad it felt like I was losing my mind and the only anchor that brought stability and peace were the words of this song "turn your eyes upon Jesus". So yes I can confirm it was the Holy Spirit who inspired them to be written as it was he who brought them to my memory in my darkest affliction. Today I have no ill effects from that horrendous experience having been restored to a sound mind and full health by Gods grace.
Jesus lead me here too... I woke up on this hurricane day off thinking about the Christian club i want to start at the school i teach at. I thought of this song to open in worship on our first meeting. I looked it up and found this video... how i needed it!!! What a blessing and miracle. It made me appreciate & love this song even more! When he said beautiful Helen said the song was directed by the Holy Spirit; I cried!! I feel it, that is the absolute truth. I’m so grateful that the Lord in His loving kindness, mercy, and grace, which brought me from false religion to his wonderful grace. I’ve known the Lord since around 7 years old, but fell away for many years, but God never loses his children. He brought me back in 2014. Yes. This song was the second worship song that I learnt in 2014 when Lord found me! Until now, I still sing each time my soul is downcast and I misses Lord and and longs for Lord ! And until today, each time I sing, I will cry especially when it comes to the verse ‘turn your eyes upon Jesus and look at His wonderful face’ You know it is like the deepest core of my heart and my soul needs Him and wants Him at that moment knowing that Lord is always with me to the end of the age!
