Wasn't familiar with Balfour until I watched a documentary a few weeks ago on British silent films. Another delightful performer sadly pretty much forgotten these days. But hmm... a plot revolving around a London Cockney flower girl with a layabout father (with an interesting connection!).
Unknown to many now days Miss Balfour was featured at last in this years British Silent Film Season held in Leicester. Lovely bubbly lady her later life was ruined by drink and a suicide attempt in 1952.
If you liked this film don`t miss the Alfred Hitchcock directed 1928 silent film Champagne starring Betty Balfour with Gordon Harker again playing her father. Betty Balfour did not age well as you will see. See it on youtube.

Delightful if light comedy, very much of it's period.
