You would never pay 5 dollars for a shake unless you were rich in 1994 or it was like a special occasion. I mean for a place to sell a 5 dollar shake is a bit strange, like he said, it better be a damn good shake for 5 dollars. That's the interesting point of the clip actually. The conversation doesn't work so much in the modern day because yeah now a shake is 5 bucks everywhere. That's kind of what's perfect about this scene, back then he was right. Only a mob boss's wife would buy a 5 dollar shake. It was an interesting conversation that someone really might have and in movies back then they just didn't have that good of dialog to have small talk and banter like that. Thats why she even said it like "The 5 dollar shake" because it was expensive just to be expensive. You buy that shake just to show you have money because a shake at a decent diner back then would at most cost you $2 dollars and it was a damn good shake.
In today's money it would be over 10 bucks

Oh, come on, don't be a square!There's a simple explanation for all of this. You know, you have to take left sometimes, because right ain't always right(just like in this scene).
However, there was nothing right on the left so they had to switch things up again. Eventually they just leaned forward and never looked back...
