Tbh I don’t think Levy would be much happier as a GM. He’s already an IM, married, has a dog, might have kids someday idk, and a full-time streaming career and is publishing a book. He’a got it made already; I don’t think he wants to sacrifice a decent chunk of all that just to study more to get GM.

It's doable if you want the title enough, but miserable if you don't. Also Levy doesn't need to be a GM. He's pretty successful in chess entertainment as an IM and already better than a good chunk of chess players. In his position, a GM title is good for the bragging rights only, so he has no real motivation to go for it
I think Levy is secretly the best player in the world because he can play at a high level like this while being distracted by the stream. Imagine if he just grinded it out for a year, he would be unstoppable
