With that kinda salary you shouldnt get a bonus. This guy gets 2. And then when the company needs to cut costs the "low level" employees are the first to go. No wonder hes ashamed to share this. I bet he doesnt lose sleep over it though.
And power to him tbf. If you were running australias most popular and influcencial grocery store, feeding 60% of the country would you take less than that?
I don't see what's the problem. He is the CEO of a very successful company. I'm pretty sure he has added more than $8M in value to the company/stock price, generated more than $8M for the shareholders and paid the government more than $8M in taxes. Also has kept many people in employment (even added jobs) etc etc etc etc. Successful CEOs deserve their pay when successful. All i see in the comments are jealous unsuccessful people. I mean think of an injured Premiership player getting hundrends of thousands of £ a week on the bench... everybody okay with that???? or a hollywood star getting $20M for 6-10 weeks work acting in a movie..... everybody okay with that???? GROW UP PEOPLE
a pay raise for the blood, sweat, and tears-people, and everything has to cost 10 times more., otherwise everything would be cheap, and never get more expensive, even tho it always does.,
Unpopular opinion I don’t care that he’s company thinks he is worth paying 8m. Tayla swifts record company thinks she is worth being paid a billion dollars for her last tour.
Why does it matter what the company paid him? Was it paid out of taxpayer dollars? No? Then what business is of this stupid politician how much a private individual is getting paid by the private company that employs him? So much envy… you can see the envy coming out of his eye sockets.
tip for future conversations: ask them "read the numbers off the annual report how much you made in the last financial year" that way it's not a question, it's just an order.
$8.4 million in 12 months, most ppl will never do in several life times.
Seems to feel quite guilty about earning that much.
Prob knows he's not done $ 8millon worth of work
your bonus is roughly 2x your annual salary. nice.
Was that so hard to say $8 M was the 3 second answer.
Its available in the financial report whats so hard about it?
Bro imagine your job now paying you in bonuses that triple your current salary because you’re destroying families.
He earns so much from his normal salary that he is a millionaire - he also receives bonuses amounting to over 300% of his annual salary 😐
If you have any other questions, he’s all ears.
Elsewhere people are doing everything possible to afford basic necessities of life
It’s disgusting how much monetary value is put into CEOs. Money does not trickle down. It’s stopped at the top.
That man doesn’t have a guilty conscience for no reason.
I shop at aldi now.
Almost 6mil in bonuses, not too bad when some people are skipping meals!

NOBODY IS WORTH THAT. SO RIDICULOUS. PAY YOUR WORKERS INSTEAD.
He didn't ask how to find how much, he ask how much...
That's the wonder of Woolies!
I don't see what's the problem. He is the CEO of a very successful company ?
The more one earns the harder it is to answer.

That's a disgusting amount of money.
"Yes well I don't have the financial report in front of me. So..."
Pocket change 😂
And power to him tbf. If you were running australias most popular and influcencial grocery store, feeding 60% of the country would you take less than that?
This is just a show, behind the curtain senators get kick back so that CEO can make more money
Should be proud to say how much you made from your profits on food for families
It's a business not a charity

He needs an attitude check. Refusing to answer immediately is suspect.

Great acting on both sides. The world is a stage
Rather interesting a politician is asking about salaries...
Woolworths.... they still exist??

Ridiculous
Unbelievable!

Just wrong.
Nobody deserves pay like that. Nobody.
Rude question.

Senator is illiterate
People with money
Spending money
Keep economy rolling
What’s the big deal
Mind your business!
There should be a system which stops people getting these saleries. There should be "autodonation" mode as soon he gets his 3000 dollars per month!
Why does everyone co plain about woolworths prices? Why no one complains about IGA ripping people off their prices are 30%higher
They don’t have the buying power of Cole’s and Woolies. They margins would be less
8.4 million for doing absolutely NOTHING!!!
Ridiculous
