My theory is what ever the super antenna that was on Dana's building , was made from what ever is in the mine. The mine is now becoming the new gate. I also think Paul Rudd and Egon's daughter will be possessed by Vinz Clortho and Zuul and so become the new Key Master and Gate Keeper. This might lead to the kids going though Rudd's notes and tracking down the other Ghostbusters for help.

Something also tells me that a large ghost (a la Stay Puft Marshmallow Man), stepped on that barn. Stacked books, proton packs, ghost traps, Ecto-1 and obviously Slimer. This is how it’s done.
They needed a containment unit the size of a really big twinkie. So Egon got property in the middle of nowhere and built one big enough to contain everything.
Mad respect that they had the balls not to show any of the original cast and focus on the younger ones who are influenced by them. And the car horn hit me right in the feels!
Gentlemen. Thank you for not talking through the trailer while it was showing. You gave me a glimmer of hope when you saw the kids walking towards the mine. You lit up with recognition but didn't say anything about the Shandor mining company. Not one reaction video yet had the viewers catch that on the first run through. It was the biggest detail I noticed on my first view. Second, thank you for showing some emotion. I'm a combat veteran and I had tears when Ecto-1 tore ass across the field. The siren blaring? I was done. I've watched this stupid trailer 30 times tonight.

Idk why i didn't think of the containment system idea lol. Im loving the tone of this trailer. The 2016 Ghostbusters was to over the top with the comedy for me and the tone here is very different. The music themes and Bill Murray speech gave me chills.
Failing containment system was pretty much the first thing I thought of when I saw the trailer. And the way it contains ghosts is nightmare; it has to be ACTIVELY POWERED to keep its ghosts contained and any interruption in power will result in ghosts escaping. Given that Egon is apparently dead in the movie, you can throw in "lack of maintenance" contributing to the problem... although I have to wonder how much maintenance you can do on a system that you can never turn off.

During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!

I was born in '84, outside of WWF/E my earliest "pop culture" memory is my love of Ghostbusters, it is easily one of the top 5 movies in terms of number of times seen. This movie working was so important to me.
What if Egon not only stored all the ghosts down in the mine, but (since the mine is/was owned by the guy who summoned Goza) is acting as a kind of Dam preventing ghosts from roaming at all. Hence the last 30 years of no ghosts.
I have said this in a few videos now but I still find it funny that we have kids using the equipment when Egon himself said "the proton pack is not a toy" to that guy asking for a proton pack for his kid brother in the first film :)

back in the day, I was thinking If they had to ever reboot the franchise, I would have hoped they would have gone with the cast of the 40-year old Virgin. Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Seth Rogan, and Romany Marco's Comedic Chemistry would have made that work. So the fact they got Paul Rudd on this makes me happy

Remember Shandor Mine is there aswell. that means its the place where the old structural engineer that built the building in the first movie got all his spiritual absorbing metals from for the building. Meaning its more than likely a hot spot for spirits, and Egon had been possibly following Shandors tracks. Building his house and stockpiling his resources for an imminent break out.
It lived up to the hype! As soon as SHE walked in to the house I was like oh my god…we’re in the Ghostbusters universe now! It was just a damn pleasure after that moment!
There were trilogy of Ghostbusters, first and second were the movies, the third story sequel is the video game as the ending of the trilogy. the gunner seat was in the video game (the third story sequel). And the story from the video game story continued to this Ghostbuster Afterlife movie.
At first I was a little disappointed about the theme song not being played, but after going back to watch the scene of Venkman talking about luck and fate, I noticed that the trailer did use the score. Go back and watch it, it's kind of genius how they incorporated the music from that scene in this trailer.
My theory is Shandor's ghost is a main thing, as thats Shandor's mines ( shandor built dana's apartment building ) , Gozer is returning as we saw a Terror dog....also maybe the town has a few living Gozer worshippers :P
There is a lot of information in the trailer! You have to pay close attention! Everything is linked to Ghostbusters 1, The cry of the boy in the black shirt is a real thrill for fans! I also cried when I saw the trailer!
See, the Containment System is like a big Twinkie… left out for far too long. It starts breaking down, letting the filling inside start to gradually leak out, growing at the surface… until eventually… (glances over at failing containment system, cutoff by 2nd character) That's one moldy Twinkie.
I like the fact that the movie is centered around the legacy of the Ghostbusters and pays homage to Harold Ramis' character. It's a better way to reboot the series than what the 2016 movie tried to do. We'll never get a "Ghostbusters 3" with the original cast for obvious reasons (unless you consider the Ghostbusters videogame to be the third installment) so this will have to do. As it stands now it looks like the director wants to bring the franchise back to it's original style while modernizing it for a new generation. Kind of like what Blade Runner 2049 did for Blade Runner (1982).
I believe this home they moved into was Ray’s family home that was mentioned in Ghostbusters. He may have given it to Egon as a gift to his friend if Ray never married or had kids. This could lead to Egon’s daughter calling uncle Ray to fix up the house he knows so well which would start to bring in the Original Crew to this story.
The sign above the entrance to the mine said Shandor Mining Company. It makes since the the designer of the building in the first Ghostbusters would have other holdings.
The first time I watched the trailer, knowing NOTHING about it, what got me was seeing the spores molds and fungus... I was like..... thats Egon's house!!! I was hooked from there.

In the One Spot, with the two Kids, there is a "Shandor Mining" Sign. Together with the short shot of the Terrordogleg (zuul,? maybe? ^^ ) im realy sure, Gozer the Gozarien takes a second try to come to our world, now through the mining systems where ivo Shandor mined the Material, for the "Ghostcenter" in New York, where Gozer tryed it first time.
My take is that Egon was stationed near Ivo Shandor's mine to investigate and / or contain whatever his activities there were. Obviously, after he died, whatever was there started to go awry.
Now this is how you follow up a sequel of the two movies. You had a lot of stuff happening already in that trailer. Looking good for summer 2020. Did you notice the books stacked up just like in the library in the first movie?

Just came to see how excited you were ,with the first trailer.... I wasn’t disappointed
At first I was a little disappointed about the theme song not being played, but after going back to watch the scene of Venkman talking about luck and fate, I noticed that the trailer did use the score. Go back and watch it, it's kind of genius how they incorporated the music from that scene in this trailer.
My theory is Shandor's ghost is a main thing, as thats Shandor's mines ( shandor built dana's apartment building ) , Gozer is returning as we saw a Terror dog....also maybe the town has a few living Gozer worshippers :P
There is a lot of information in the trailer! You have to pay close attention! Everything is linked to Ghostbusters 1, The cry of the boy in the black shirt is a real thrill for fans! I also cried when I saw the trailer!
See, the Containment System is like a big Twinkie… left out for far too long. It starts breaking down, letting the filling inside start to gradually leak out, growing at the surface… until eventually… (glances over at failing containment system, cutoff by 2nd character) That's one moldy Twinkie.

I like the fact that the movie is centered around the legacy of the Ghostbusters and pays homage to Harold Ramis' character. It's a better way to reboot the series than what the 2016 movie tried to do. We'll never get a "Ghostbusters 3" with the original cast for obvious reasons (unless you consider the Ghostbusters videogame to be the third installment) so this will have to do. As it stands now it looks like the director wants to bring the franchise back to it's original style while modernizing it for a new generation. Kind of like what Blade Runner 2049 did for Blade Runner (1982).
I believe this home they moved into was Ray’s family home that was mentioned in Ghostbusters. He may have given it to Egon as a gift to his friend if Ray never married or had kids. This could lead to Egon’s daughter calling uncle Ray to fix up the house he knows so well which would start to bring in the Original Crew to this story.

The sign above the entrance to the mine said Shandor Mining Company. It makes since the the designer of the building in the first Ghostbusters would have other holdings.

The first time I watched the trailer, knowing NOTHING about it, what got me was seeing the spores molds and fungus... I was like..... thats Egon's house!!! I was hooked from there.

Definitely agree with you guys on every level. Also agree that the idea of them moving the containment unit for all the ghosts out to the middle of nowhere after they retired from busting. I think now the containment system is failing and all the ghost are getting out.
Bit of trivia - the young boy (Jason) in Ghostbusters 2 who called out the Ghostbusters at the kids party is none other than, Jason son of Ivan, Director of Ghostbusters Afterlife 👍🏻

In the One Spot, with the two Kids, there is a "Shandor Mining" Sign. Together with the short shot of the Terrordogleg (zuul,? maybe? ^^ ) im realy sure, Gozer the Gozarien takes a second try to come to our world, now through the mining systems where ivo Shandor mined the Material, for the "Ghostcenter" in New York, where Gozer tryed it first time.
That trailer actually gave me a tear.
My take is that Egon was stationed near Ivo Shandor's mine to investigate and / or contain whatever his activities there were. Obviously, after he died, whatever was there started to go awry.
Now this is how you follow up a sequel of the two movies. You had a lot of stuff happening already in that trailer. Looking good for summer 2020. Did you notice the books stacked up just like in the library in the first movie?
