Strangely I am very much OK with that. As long as people go see it enough that we get a sequel and it wipes away any memory of the war crime that was Ghostbusters 2016.
I don't know why, but this actually gave me chills and tears. GB was my childhood and this, at least based on this trailer, hits in just the right way to evoke the same emotions the original did from me as a kid.

I love and appreciate how they made the ghost effects and trails look just like the original 80's effects! That speaks volumes to me that a lot of respect and love was put into this

They had too, after that mess a few years ago there was no way they could do anything other than a proper, respectful sequel. Unlike what Feig and Kennedy did to the franchise, all they wanted to do was make fun a franchise and tried to bash it pieces.

Parts of this were filmed in the small town of Fort MacLeod, about a 40min drive from where I live. I went out for two set days and there's a (vanishingly small) chance I'll be visible as a background extra in the final cut.

I really hope this movie is good. Ghostbusters was one of the first movies I remember as a kid and started my love for Sci-fi. They're going new but sticking to classic GB formula.
Same. This is the first movie I ever remember watching and it has always been a favourite. My mum had recorded it from the TV and my brother and I as little kids watched it ALL the time. We even have photos of us in front of the TV using plastic kids golf clubs down the back of our shirts as proton packs. This trailer had the feel of the original (I cringed when I saw the CGI mess of the other reboot) and boy do I hope they do it justice 🤞🤞

Jay, I feel the exact same way brother. Ghostbusters is absolutely in the highest tier of geekdom. I have been a fan since I was 3 years old and this trailer had me wrapped up in an almost zen-like state of pure hype. I also didn't mind the 2016 film and thought it was fun for what it was, as a separate universe. But this? Woooo this hits a DEEPLY nostalgic feeling. Glad you guys enjoyed the trailer!
Honestly, one of the loveliest things in the world is seeing grown men and women feeling like kids again, with that absolutely lovely joy and look in their eyes. So adorable.
Ghostbusters was my entire young childhood. I had all the toys and playsets, my parents even went so far as to fashion me a makeshift proton pack out of a cardboard tube, some plastic piping, a cereal box and foil and I played Ghostbusters all day for years. To this day it still holds a special place in my heart, so needless to say _I fuckin nutted LETSGOOOOOOOOOOOOOO_

Having Egon's voice over that light moving feels purposeful. Like he's trying to show his daughter something and directing the light towards it. This is such an interesting way to go. Having Egon move out here and set this place up. He knew something was brewing but for whatever reason the others didn't go with him. It might be a trailer cheat but they make it seem like the old Ghostbusters number gets called and it connects to Ray. That would be a somewhat organic way to get him into the movie. Like that puzzle on the floor is an interesting way to find the trap. Did he set this up so only certain people could find it? Maybe he wanted his family to be there if something happened. Janine helped him through his final days. She said he could barely keep power going. You know Egon would be laser focussed if he found something huge and was trying to figure it out. So his family moves in. The kids uncover the ghost situation. They look up the old ads on CZcams because they're out of their depth and need advice on how to deal with ghosts and they find the old ad. It would make sense for Ray to have that old number attached to the shop. Even if he got out of the game he might have made sure that number remained active just in case. Nobody else could help fight ghosts since clearly nobody picked up the torch and ran with it and Ray isn't one to leave someone in trouble so he transferred the Ghostbusters line to the store. At least I hope that's true as it'd be a good way to bring Ray in and it'd be cool for the character. Then he can grab Peter and Winston and they could jump in the car and take a road trip to wherever the family is. Yes, I am that excited for this movie I have to try and write it in my head now because November is like a million years away. Although I'd be amazed if any of this turned out to be right. At 6:00, Not necessarily guys. From the beginning, they've been hyping the idea that elements of the "Real Ghostbusters" cartoon show would work it's way into the plot. In the 2009 GHOSTBUSTERS video game, (Harold Remis's last role). We learned that some things, like the gargoyle statues were just guardians that Shandor put out to protect places of power. GOZER, has a sister. Her name's Tiamat. And in the cartoon show, it was EGON, who defeated her with logic when she awoke, looking for vengeance for her brother's death. You see, BOTH GOZER AND TIAMAT were originally from Earth. But GOZER was exiled. Tiamat however went to sleep. So If something is rising, from deep within the Earth, I DO NOT, think it's GOZER.....

I did not notice Adam referring to the mini marshmallow men as the "adipose" versions when I watched this a few days ago. I really appreciate describing one piece of science fiction geekery with an even geekier reference from a science fiction series. Well done sir.
I feel like they did all the things fans expected from the 3rd movie. A big bunch of nostalgia and the right amount of invention to make a natural successor to the first two movies. And the street scene where all the ghosts flew through town were a clear hit at the too-neon third movie. "Look, we can create the same scene and the fans will love it. We only took 90% of saturation out of it."
Adam, it really does look like it has some patient, skillful storytelling, huh? I'm excited to see something new that breathes; that doesn't feel like a 2 hour ad/sizzle reel/music video. So happy with this!
In the other trailer the mine is called Shandor mine. Ivo Shandor was the cult leader of the followers of Gozer the Gozerian, which is from part 1. Zuul was the gargoyle looking dog that is a servant of Gozer, that we see Paul Rudd running from in this trailer. I think Egon moved here because he learned this is where the cult leader either began his cult or moved to after making the building Dana lived in during the first movie. No matter what, this movie is heavily playing off the first movie for sure! So excited!
That trailer had me in tears with Joy, that the Real deal is coming this Thanksgiving and yes I will give for sure give thanks!! Not since 1989 has the real deal been in theaters as a first run. The story, the Theme all intact including the actual Eeriness the original had, not so much terror but spooky mixed with comedy. You can already count my ticket as paid for! To see their old TV ad in the movie brought a tear to my eye, a tear of Joy and tears of memories of days gone by and tears that Harold is no longer with us except in spirit. This is what a sequel is all about, seeing the new coming out of the old and hanging out for a time then moving towards the future, not some moronic attempt at a reboot, but a true sequel.

As far as I comprehend, Dan Aykroyd is kinda like the weird, eccentric uncle you see at thanksgiving. He’s kinda crazy, but it’s nice to see him once a year.

You gotta give credits to Jason Reitman for respecting the style, the "cgi" effect of the originals. He clearly understand the mood, the way his father made those movies. I can't wait.
Not sure if you noticed, but they show that kid Finn laying across the engine working on Ecto 1. It's almost identical to the way Ray was working on the car in the original movie. Watch the scene when Dana first enters the firehouse and look at Ray. That is some serious attention to detail to have the kid in the new movie do it identically.
The Stranger Things guy, Trevor, is Egon's grandson and the nerdy kid with the glasses, who looks remarkably like Egon (hair/glasses), is Phoebe, Egon's granddaughter, and the blonde woman, Carrie Coon is Egon's daughter, Callie.

I saw the making of the original Ghostbusters on Netflix. Dan Akroyd actually comes from a family of Mediums who would do seances and talk to ghosts.

I feel like they did all the things fans expected from the 3rd movie. A big bunch of nostalgia and the right amount of invention to make a natural successor to the first two movies. And the street scene where all the ghosts flew through town were a clear hit at the too-neon third movie. "Look, we can create the same scene and the fans will love it. We only took 90% of saturation out of it."
Adam, it really does look like it has some patient, skillful storytelling, huh? I'm excited to see something new that breathes; that doesn't feel like a 2 hour ad/sizzle reel/music video. So happy with this!

Ivo Shandor didn't build the hotel, he built Dana Barrett's apartment. Plenty of moments in the trailer brought a tear to my eye.
In the other trailer the mine is called Shandor mine. Ivo Shandor was the cult leader of the followers of Gozer the Gozerian, which is from part 1. Zuul was the gargoyle looking dog that is a servant of Gozer, that we see Paul Rudd running from in this trailer. I think Egon moved here because he learned this is where the cult leader either began his cult or moved to after making the building Dana lived in during the first movie. No matter what, this movie is heavily playing off the first movie for sure! So excited!
This movie is according to Reitman, coming back full circle and dealing with Ivo Shandor, who was the cult leader mentioned in the original.
That trailer had me in tears with Joy, that the Real deal is coming this Thanksgiving and yes I will give for sure give thanks!! Not since 1989 has the real deal been in theaters as a first run. The story, the Theme all intact including the actual Eeriness the original had, not so much terror but spooky mixed with comedy. You can already count my ticket as paid for!
To see their old TV ad in the movie brought a tear to my eye, a tear of Joy and tears of memories of days gone by and tears that Harold is no longer with us except in spirit. This is what a sequel is all about, seeing the new coming out of the old and hanging out for a time then moving towards the future, not some moronic attempt at a reboot, but a true sequel.
Ivo Shandor was the guy Adam. Good job remembering that.

As far as I comprehend, Dan Aykroyd is kinda like the weird, eccentric uncle you see at thanksgiving. He’s kinda crazy, but it’s nice to see him once a year.

Not sure if you noticed, but they show that kid Finn laying across the engine working on Ecto 1. It's almost identical to the way Ray was working on the car in the original movie. Watch the scene when Dana first enters the firehouse and look at Ray. That is some serious attention to detail to have the kid in the new movie do it identically.
The Stranger Things guy, Trevor, is Egon's grandson and the nerdy kid with the glasses, who looks remarkably like Egon (hair/glasses), is Phoebe, Egon's granddaughter, and the blonde woman, Carrie Coon is Egon's daughter, Callie.
Man I love watching this genuine joy!!!! I tear up every time!!!

Fun Fact: Paul Rudd was approach to return as Tommy Doyle in Holloween Kills but was too busy filming Ghostbusters Afterlife.
