- In January 2006, Turner Classic Movies ran a month-long tribute to the animated films of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. Here, Pixar's John Lasseter introduces TCM's presentation of Princess Mononoke.

Kiki's Delivery Service used to be my first Miyazaki film I've watched, until Princess Mononoke became to be my second film I've watched over and over again. I love all of his work and I'm a huge Miyazaki fan.
Glad someone had the foresight to keep these! Thanks so much!
For those who might remember, Toonami on Cartoon Network did something exactly like this. It was actually because TCM did this that Toonami also decided to do this.
djhero0071 i remember watching spirited away on toonami a long time ago, it was great
He talked with so much passion and reverence. I love that
They need to do this again
He knows his heart. Good comment!
Princess Mononoke is the first miyazaki movie I saw as a kid and a warning to kids: unlike other Miyazaki movies it is a violent film, but other than that it's a great movie.
Thanks for sharing these discussions!
So Lasseter admires how Miyazaki created a fair environmental film. It’s a shame he didn’t achieve the same thing with Cars 2 😢
You guys think there will be another Princess Mononoke movie reboot? Because it was a greatest movie of all time. And plus do you guy's think that Princess Mononoke is a Disney princess? Because princess mononoke is a part of Disney even though please anime.
Remake you mean
I don’t think she counts as a Disney Princess, she can be a non-Disney princesse though
@@raellmoreland2373 Disney should make a live-action movie of Princess Mononoke
@@58jn89 fuck that
I’m surprised that Princess Mononoke was Disney dubbed because it’s violent and had a bit of coarse language. I thought there was gonna be sexual references because they had “brothel girls”.
LOL they showed the dubbed versions? :P Blech.
+amaxamon the dubbed versions are pretty good.
It's only good by 1990's standards of English dubbing, but watching it today, compared to all the other Ghibli dubs, you realize just how disparate and lacking the voices are, especially for Billy Crudup, Claire Danes, and Billy Bob Thorton. You get the feeling they were either very poorly directed, or didn't take the time to study the script, possibly both.
And if you want an example, watch any of the scenes where either Ashitaka or San have to yell, and listen to how fake it sounds.
And I hate the Neil Gaiman English script. It just misses the point on too many things. But they show subtitled films on TCM, so...? I don't get why they used the dubs for these.
amaxamon
I believe they only show the subbed versions of films that don't have dubs.
Interesting, I did not know that.
John knows nothing
There is absolutely nothing to recommend or commend about Princess Mononoke because the film violates numerous bible principles found in 1 Corinthians 8:4-6, Psalms 11:5, and Leviticus 17:11. Besides, Princess Mononoke proves that Hayao Miyazaki is a hypocrite because the film shows disrespect for the sanctity of life.
My point is that Princess Mononoke isn't for anybody, especially for a Jehovah's Witness like myself because the film is grossly out of harmony with the Bible principles listed above. Besides, Princess Mononoke doesn't refresh the mind, it's actually poisons it due to it's numerous violent sequences as well as the fact that the film embraces Japanese mythology.
I cannot stop anybody from watching the film since I don't have control over what people watch. However, as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I refuse to remain silent on the matter because as it is written in 1 Corinthians 10:31, serving Jehovah God is a way of life that affects every aspect of our lives. The only reason I came to this video is to start up a spiritual conversation.
If I hurted your feelings in any sort of way, then I'm sorry. I never intended to hurt anyone's feelings. I was just simply trying start up an intelligent conversation.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
