    I'm really growing to like mine now, loads of power, great sounding engine, side start is cool, straps nice, feels good on the back. Great piece of kit so far!

    I've been using an older version for years so I can see that both the starter system and also the harness with the belt and chest strap are a big improvement. By the way Santa bought me a green Shirley which is as good as you said in your review.

    When I bought a new blower last year I was toying between one of these and the Echo PB-8010, I’m usually a Stihl man but I’m not keen on the Stihl 4 mix so being a standard 2 stroke I bought the echo. The power is unreal, I’ve heard these Stihls are very good but power wise are just under the echo PB-8010.

    Interesting review.
    I currently run a husqvarna 570bts, prior to this I had a stihl br600.
    The husqvarna 570 has more power than the stihl br600 did and is better balanced and more comfortable.
    I can see advantages of the side pull start, that said when it breaks I doubt it can be replaced as quickly as a normal pull cord.
    My main site is 16 acres and the blower usually stays on my back for over an hour, I'm seldom interrupted though.
    When I was doing commercial sites I used to use the blower for less time but more frequently ie most visits all year, I often had to stop and start the engine so I can see the side starter would be a huge benefit in this instance.
    Is the engine a 4 mix? One of the reasons I went with the husqvarna was it is a normal 2 stroke x tourx.

      @CalvinThomas05  Před 4 lety

      Hi Paul. Yes it's a 4 mix engine. I can see why people don't like the 4 mix engine because of the maintenance of it. But I have to say I like this blower. I would like to try the huskys in the future. Cheers Calvin

    I'm torn between this and the echo 8010. What is it like having it on your back for a while? Heavy? Great review. Thanks

    • @CalvinThomas05
      @CalvinThomas05  Před 4 lety

      Hi Joseph. No its not too heavy. Its comfortable with the big straps and padding and the waist belt. Thanks for the comments cheers Calvin

    • @paulf2529
      @paulf2529 Před 4 lety

      If you spend a little time adjusting the straps, as with a brushcutter harness the machine should be very comfortable.
      The straps should be relatively tight, not really loose as is often the case were multiple staff use one machine.
      Use of the top chest strap makes big difference.

    Runs great til it doesn’t. By the way, did you know Stihl doesn’t cover carburetors under their warranty. Mine failed in two years and they want way to much money to fix it. Never buying any Stihl products again. Have Husquvana products that are years and years older and never had any problems that cost much to repair.

    this blower br800 is unfortunately a big disappointment. I expected a lot more power. It is maybe 10 pricent more powerful than the BR700. For me it is quite a disappointment and I am considering selling it
