It was an absolute joy to talk to you, team! Thank you so much for inviting me on and making such a great product - i am having a blast with mine! ❤
You were an excellent advocate for this!!! 🙌💙
Makes me so happy to see something like this being made. Gaming should be for everyone. It’s an amazing medium, and it should be something that everyone can enjoy
I love how you spoke to someone who is intimate with the challenges of "normal" controllers. It would have been easy to just go over the features yourself, but seeing how it helps someone in real life is really amazing. Love it!
Gaming has provided me with so many hours of relief from the difficulties of real life so this is such a cool project.
Same! People don't really understand that even a short time not thinking about your body, is so important to survival for us disabled people.
I found that surprisingly heart-warming ... you can see how much this means to people.
I'm intrigued by some of the possible usages ... it seems like you could have near infinite set-ups with a bit of imagination.
Love that this exists, love that Access is covering it, and love that you went to a member of the disability community rather than walking us through yourselves. Class acts all around.
really great to see this! I'm glad it seems like it's been designed so well.
Edit: Makes me really happy that you let a gamer with a disability take the stage for this one!
Glad more people can get into the medium with this
I’m so happy this access controller was created. About 10yrs ago I had a friend switch out the R2 button with a foot pedal( I can’t use my right arm). It did the job but was rough; it disabled the R1 button so could only be used for that one task. I knew the concept worked and had looked for years online to find a way to make it again, only better.
I recently connected a sustain pedal, used a 6.5mm to 3.5mm prong adapter to make it fit and it worked as I had imagined. I had already mastered my regular controller usage through the years but with this controller I can expand to make my gaming more efficient and less cumbersome.
Gaming is for everyone ❤
#PODSQUAD Wonderful video! As a severely disabled gamer this feels like such a massive step in the right direction! I can’t wait to hopefully get my hands on the controller at Christmas and see how it works for me! It’s so true that gaming gives us a break when real life isn’t so nice. Thank you guys for sharing this, love you all and merry Christmas!
That is truly the future of gaming for me, so amazing!
Just finished setting. Ine up. I love it. A bit pricey but understandably so.
This is really awesome. Love that you did a feature on it.
As a partially disabled gamer myself these kind of innovations are amazing and should be an inspiration to all controller manufacturers. Should also be said that the back paddles on the dual sense edge are great for certain disabilities also. Well done sony!!!
Beautiful piece of equipment. Good on you, Sony 👏
Absolutely brilliant. This will be so helpful to so many people.
And I can even imagine it being useful for regular people as well. If you're playing a more relaxed game like a puzzle game or XCOM, you can just put that controller on your armrest and play one-handed.
This is awesome… inviting more groups of people into gaming is always great. Especially when it’s done with care like this… well done
Thank you for doing a lovely & In depth video as i didn't know there were so many different types of buttons. I'm slowly recovering from a stroke & Haven't been able to play my ps5. So i will definitely look into getting the Acess controller 😊
I've been following this channel since the early days with low quality camera, to think you get to the point of releasing your very own official PS controller now. I'm so proud of you all 😄
Access controller...Aptly named 😊
Thank you for making this. My daughter has a partial paralysed left arm and she uses the Xbox Adaptive controller. This allows her to be a Playstation gamer too.
I love Colo's voice, sorry if i butcherd the spelling.
I've been excited to see progress on this and I just want to see it being used. Somewhat recently I was diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome in my left wrist, and while a mild version of it is certainly not a disability (and I'm not trying to compare myself to anyone with disabilities at all), it still affects my gaming and other activities. One big thing is I can't hold things as long or in certain positions. Having a controller that can sit on a surface sounds very useful, and its various buttons or shortcuts would also help.
As an accessibility consultant and small streamer I can't wait to pick this up Saturday and learn how it works.
This is an incredible idea! Now, even more people will be able to play with us! No one left behind! ❤
Thanks for this and only a day after I asked if you were planning on covering the topic! I'd love to see more of the device in action, with different configurationsm being used by people with differing needs - any chance? Thanks again
Buying this absolutely
I love love LOVE this!
I love this video. Her passion made me happy cry
I am a quadriplegic with arm Motion and I can use my hands, except the are in both my fist. I can't move my fingers but I can use the pinky knuckles to press buttons. Before my accident in 2020 are used to love to game. Way better set up the new Xbox! I'm definitely getting a PlayStation, which I have had all of them except for the PS five. Thank you so much!
Awesome...i broke my right thumb years ago and it never healed right...ive managed to adjust, but this gives me hope for the future say when i have arthritis ill still be a gamer! ❤
Great video and what a great product by Sony
Love this ❤
Would have been good to see it in use? Is that on the way?
Thank you access for such a heart warming video. When it comes to gaming nobody does accessibility better than Playstation.
This is honestly really impressive. Well done PlayStation, and thank you to Ash and Kolo for the excellent explanation of this amazing new controller!
Had no idea who Kolo is but now I'm subscribed to their YT channel. I absolutely love their voice.
EDIT: please get them to come on the podcast or on a live stream, please!
Hi, it's so lovely to meet you! ❤
@@HelloItsKolo ❤
That is so awesome.
Hopefully you are doing the The Christmas Maze again this year.
i wonder if this runs on the same software as a regular controler and be able to use this as a controller for pc games
This is an awesome piece of engineering that is going to make so many people so happy.
Could we have further features added to button accessibility on the system its self? Both my self and my unlce suffer from muscle control, and strength. It would be nice to have things such as dual button pressing be allowed, and area further flushed out..
An example would be in my case R1 is mapped to X, and I would have both R1+R2, for O to back out of menus. Many of my face buttons are remapped to the sholder buttons which limits many possibilities for set up, and possible games.
I can't stop thinking about how cool this is, and I don't even necessarily need one. Imagine how they could improve upon it if they made a newer one a few years down.
Hello everyone!
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to set the joystick to play a driving simulator so that by moving the joystick forward the car accelerates and pulling back brakes?
Thanks!
This is Amazing, and it makes Sony how much more attractive than the competition.
This looks like a really practical accessory, though not for myself.
well done ,my pals with different hands
About time we get something like this from Sony! Hope they continue to release more accessories that make gaming more accessible!
Great controller for people who need it.
PlayStation do you have a list of 3.5mm jack foot pedal, switches, ect that are compatible with the PlayStation 5 Access Controller?
Oh this is a cool idea
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Has anyone got to use there access controller yet on pc? I been trying but it only reads couple buttons. Let me know if anyone has gotten there to work on pc.
Thanks
For the players 💙
If even one more person can do one more thing they wish to do, then I'm happy.
I can’t wait to get mine tomorrow God’s will.😊
I'm getting 2 so when I'm playing flight Sims I can finally have yaw control like pedals in a real plane.
Can it connect with PS4?
Thanks Sony! Gaming is for everyone ❤️
Good on Sony for designing this controller!
While I don't need this type of controller yet, I know a place which could use these types of controller, so I have to ask, where and when can I bye some of these controllers?
PlayStation Direct
@@bamban_garcia5562 That didn't help, so I will ask again. Where can I buy this controller?
@@frederiogPlayStation Direct is literally the official PlayStation store where all hardware / software comes directly from Sony themselves
If not Amazon, Best Buy, WalMart, Target, GameStop, Costco, Sam's Club among countless other retailers
Its great playstation has produced something like this. By all accounts the one xbox has had for a number of years has also been fantastic.
How will this work for a one handed player
If you're still wondering about this I can show you my set up for it
💚
🥰 this is awesome 🥰 who says Sony doesn’t care about us gamers.
So sports games such as Madden 24 and NBA 2k24 is compadable
🎮 💙
I wonder if they worked with Able Gamers or a similar charity to make this so comprehensive.
Yes Sony Interactive Entertainment worked alongside AbleGamers, other disabled expert over 5 years to create ur
As much as I was angry dual sense 5 didn't come with back buttons out of the box or offer them in a swappable form between controllers (only a $200 controller with just 2 paddles which covers 1 controller only) as I rely on back buttons for hand comfort, I forgive them simply bcuz they did this for ppl with way worse struggles than me.
When does Christmas maze begin
Well done Sony ❤
Will it give me easier lobbies in MW3?
Probably
Now if only people cared more about actual in game accessibility settings and thought about temporary, situational disabilities and even just comfort and preference.
Sony Please allow us to play with dual shock 4 on ps5 games
Why would they?
The real question does this work on the PS4
It's not amazing because there are people totally without both hands and arms and people totally paralysed in both hands and arms that won't be able to use this accessible controller.
Yeah and is it gonna be $150
I'm about to eat a duck gumbo
Yum
This controller should have been out long before now
would be more accesible if it was the same price as the dualsense, seems predatory to charge extra for a controller that some disabled people need as a replacement of the original controller.
Probably costs more, so why charge less?
@@lostforever773 those with disabilities should be able to have the same experience as those who don't have them, charging more for accesibility (same goes for xbox) is predatory towards those with disabilities, i'm surprised it's not seen as discriminatory.
@@carlwheezer1544 so something more expensive shouldn't be more expensive? Gotcha
It's not predatory or discriminatory at all, the reality is that anything that is specially designed or adapted for people with disabilities requires extra work and development and will therefore cost more.
@@lostforever773 you’re telling me a multi billion dollar corporation can’t eat the cost of the controller by pricing it equally as the dualsense?
Dissappointed. I thought it was a normal controller with a Playstation Access skin. Can we have that?
Disappointed about accessibility?
