- WE ARE BUILDING A NEW WOODEN BEACH HUT, NEXT TO OUR BEACH HOUSE HERE IN DAVAO!
This is a raw video from the coast of Cateel, Davao Oriental, Mindanao. Construction continues, and it is so wonderful watching one of the B'laan Manongs working on our new "A Frame" style wooden hut. Literally, he has been rocking it almost all by himself! Oh, and we love teasing our Filipino engineer... who we have now confirmed is single!
Life as a family here on our beach land is always vibrant and fun! We are looking forward to finishing all the building, and seeing the finished wooden hut!

Engr. Kimpooi is a great engineer who also happens to be my professor in several of my major subjects in my civil engineering course in Malayan at the moment, as well as our research adviser. I'm really blown away by his technical skill and aesthetic concepts for this kind of design.

Interesting "Kulas". The Filipinos are learning from you, building Beach Houses from available Wood and other local materials. This is because they thought that only concrete buildings and Cottages are possible to establish Resorts. With this, they can dream of putting up Cottages made of local cheaper materials. I just learned that there are already an engineered Bamboo Material that can replace Wood. This means that the cutting of Trees will be minimized. Auraphil thanks for sharing. GOD bless!

The AAA structure is a little small. Not sure what you are planning to use that for? As soon as Kulas stood inside the frame, it looks like he is going to hit the side/roof. I'd say it a waste of floor space to design it with a triangular shape. It looks like it would be just be a sleeping room. Can't put cabinets or big TV or full-size fridge. If you put any furniture it will be pushed to the center of the room.
Such a beautiful and calm place. I always enjoyed watching your vlog, Kulas. You inspired a lot of Filipino people and other nationalities. Actually, because of your vlogs from CDO to Dava and everywhere in Mindanao, I started to like to live in the province, which I already did.
