The funny thing is that when Michael got out of the asylum (and this has been confirmed by the creators of this trilogy) he had no intention of going after Laurie. She was obsessed with him her whole life and he couldn’t care less about her. The cops and Dr brought them together again. And like a shark, he goes after prey when he sees it.
I really love this trilogy. Despite what others say, the films are really good on deeper level. The first two are brutal and graphic, and very traditional slasher films... but even so, there is a deeper meaning in them. Each has a different thematically unique. In this one, it's letting go and facing your demon. Laurie struggled for a long time, she couldn't move on, and pushed everyone away. Doesn't mean she couldn't be prepared. And the third film, Halloween Ends... honestly, that's now my favorite, actually. I wouldn't have said at first. But after watching it 10 or 11 more times, and really considering the themes of it. Something that I really appreciate about it is that it's SO different than most Halloweens, something new. Don't let the haters ruin these films for you.
I couldn't have said it better myself!! I loved Ends the 1st time I saw and it continues to impress me. The way it always felt for me was 2018 was Laurie and her family trauma, Kills was the people of Haddonfield and trauma, and Ends was Haddonfield itself and what it did to everybody. ❤🎃
At first I HATED Halloween ends but now that time has passed, it has begun to grow on me.

I had a 59 year old neighbor who would bike on weekends 200+ miles, non stop he was a former pro racer, but he was of course a normal person. There are vids of 90 year olds doing gymnastics and crazy stuff at gyms. On top of all that Michael is not fully human and you can see how he would not be feeble and "old" he got hit in the face with a crowbar and it didn't slow him down, he still has supernatural strength. The guy in the beginning is a blogger, of course he wants to get Myers to do something, say something. When Allyson looks out the school window and sees Laurie, the teacher talking is PJ soles the blonde girl from the 78 movie.
Yes he kills kids, part 4 he was trying to kill his niece who was younger. He is supposed to be the real boogeyman, pure evil. Even that baby crying he stopped and thought about killing it as well he chose not to, not that he thought it is wrong to kill a baby. He wanted the truck, the kid is in the way time to solve that by killing him.You asking why lol he's a killer locked up not killing anyone for 40 years. It's like drugs to him he's getting high and enjoying it after that long.
I absolutely love this trilogy of films. As a life long fan of these movies this trilogy tried to break the mold of being just a straight slasher with no character development. This one is a great look at trauma and generational trauma. I'm reminded of a Noah Kahan lyric. "I'm still angry at my parents for what their parents did to them" I'm excited to watch the next two with ya!! Happy Spooky Season!!!🎃
Watch the extended cut of Halloween kills , it's more watchable than the original version . Lol
This is a very good sequel that does a great job showing how Laurie dealt with the traumatic events of that fateful night. They do acknowledge the other films like the gas station being almost an exact replica from The Return of Michael Myers down to the ice box outside.
The perfect sequel. First time I saw it I remember being 😮😮 that Laurie survived and Michael “died”. Kills wasn’t announced for ages after. This is like a good bookend like H20 is. Regardless of its continuation this is a good beginning middle end for the series like H20.
It wasn’t initially planned as a trilogy. Which is why the end is so solid. But it was such a huge huge hit that they wanted to continue.
*Some people bash this trilogy, but I love it. finally we get some continuity in the franchise with these 3 movies and the attention to detail especially with the flashback in Kills*

I can't wait for you to finish out your reactions to this series. Hopefully you'll be jumping into other horror franchises as soon as you finish this one out. If I could recommend one film, it would be 'Sick' (2023) on Peacock. It's written by Kevin Williamson who wrote 'Scream', 'Scream 2' and 'Scream 4'. It's a very tense white knuckle ride of a slasher. I think you'd enjoy the hell out of it and be very uncomfortable. I'm sure us 'Scream' fans would absolutely love this reaction! Have a good night!

32:15 that's how I feel when I watch the Saw franchise 😂😂 Every time Jigsaw's "victim" is a piece of shxt, I'm ecstatic to see their demise. It's also how I felt watching Sleepaway Camp every time a bully got killed Honestly, I want a horror movie where we're rooting for ALL the characters to live. Where they're all really good people to the point that it angers the audience they died.
Julian is the coolest kid in the world. Despite my aversion to children, and how annoying I find their clamoring, needy, messy, bratty, troublemaking selves... none of that applies to Julian. If I had a kid, I'd want it to be Julian.
I have tons of issues with this trilogy some people love them some don't I've never been a big fan of this trilogy i prefer the older halloween films because they feel genuine and truly apart of the franchise which this film tried to wipe away and that's crime #1 imo it does have some good score though and the shot of him going to the houses was good.

Homicides and serial killings happen every day in the world. Unfortunately.
Often there is no logical explanation for these murders either.
However, Michael Myers murdered his sister as a young boy (in the 1978 movie).
Therefore, further (movie) killings are likely for him.
After all, Myers has been killing practically all his life.
So why should he stop if he's so disturbed?
In the 1978 Halloween shocker, he is classified as "absolutely evil" and "untreatable" by his attending physician Dr. Sam Loomis, played by Donald Pleasence.
For me by far the best Halloween movie next to the original from 1978.

I’m so weird but I only love Halloween 2018. It’s so well made. The cinematography, music, kills, gore, acting. the rest didn’t do it for me.
Oh come on the original is a classic. I do really like 2018 though it’s up there for me in my rankings. My personal favorites are 1 and 3

The 2018 film is definitely the stand out amongst the other David Gordon-Green Halloweens. However I feel like their films have some lazy writing and plot devices, like the phone in the pudding and the doctor stabbing the sheriff. Being a true blue Halloween fan, I also think the team behind the film committed some sins against the franchise, specifically Michael’s character. The doctor should have never unmasked Michael and wore the mask. It makes Michael look weak. Halloween Kills has a really well done Flashback sequence, but beyond that it’s not that great of a film. And Halloween Ends was a dumpster fire of a movie. I’ll obviously be tuning in every Sunday, but I’m not a fan of these movies…I actually prefer Resurrection over both Kills and Ends. That’s saying something. Haha
Resurrection is the biggest pile of 💩💩 of them all. Even though kills had it's flaws it was a better watch overall. The most brutal Michael of all. Resurrection on the other hand..... Where do we even start. Lol
I still think H20 is far superior to this one. I couldn’t really get behind the way they portrayed Laurie here. I liked her a lot more in H20 and I think the film ended their story perfectly. Resurrection never happened in my eyes.
H20 has not aged well for me. Too much Scream influence with the jump scares.
