The characters in Halloween Kills make rash and/or stupid decisions because of their fear. It's a legit theme in the movie whether most ignore it or not.
During the flashback, the reason Michael allowed himself to be captured is because his injuries from being shot would have caused him to bleed out eventually. The only way he'd get necessary medical treatment would be to allow himself to be apprehended.
If you notice, a lot of the kids trick or treating in this one and Halloween 2018 are wearing the witch, skull, and pumpkin masks from Halloween 3 Season of the Witch. Such a fun detail.
Halloween Kills was never going to be openly loved by most fans because of it being an intentionally chaotic movie with intentionally making characters do stupid decisions consumed by fear. But hey I enjoy it for what it is. Halloween Ends was never going to be openly loved by most fans because of DGG wanting to make it a overindulgence love letter to Christine. Also, Ends feels the most like a DGG film.
The Halloween franchise is destined to repeat the pattern of the first film in a timeline being great and the others failing to capitalize on it. I agree that the execution of the story didn't work and all of the characters were just dumb. Some trivia: Jamie Lee Curtis, Charles Cyphers (Brackett), Kyle Richards (Lindsey), Nancy Stephens (Marion), and Nick Castle all returned. Tommy Doyle and Lonnie Elam were recast with Anthony Michael Hall and Robert Longstreet, because Brian Andrews has retired from acting since 2015, and Brent Le Page never acted again after the original Halloween. They contacted Paul Rudd to come back as Tommy but he was filming Ghostbusters: Afterlife at the time.
Ends is not the last film in the franchise, but it is in this timeline. They're already in talks of rebooting the series again and maybe even doing a TV series.
😂😂😂 There was a perfectly good reason for Michael to use that old man as a pincushion... a perfectly good DEMENTED reason. He needed a new knife. Not a subpar knif. Not a good knife, even... but a great knife to really do the job, and do it well. To his standards. So he had to test their knife set to find the one he preferred.
I think what people don’t realize is that Michael isn’t a man. He’s evil. Pure evil. He doesn’t care about Lori or anyone else and he was never after anyone in particular. That’s the human side justifying the unreasonable. He has no goal or end game. He is on an unrelenting and unmotivated path of death. His only thought is the next kill. It just so happened that people drove him in the direction of Lori. If it wasn’t Lori it would have been someone else. I compare Michael to a gun. It has no ill will, it has no anger, it just kills. That’s what it does. It’s its nature. Don’t expect a gun to have compassion or to be reasonable, because it’s not that it won’t; it can’t.
Literally no one knows what Michael looks like aside from laurie, Hawkins, and bracket. Only laurie and her family have seen Michael in costume along with Hawkins. Laurie and bracket are the only ones to see Michael without his mask. Laurie and Tommy didn't get to see the patient standing in the window but the commotion of everything on top of sheep syndrome made the crowd immediately go manic
@@willfanofmanyii3751 They showed the other guy as well. The town is getting their info from the so called town expert, Tommy. Tommy out here claiming he had an "altercation" with Michael lol Sir.. no 👏 you 👏didn't.

"Dumb characters"? In a Halloween movie? ha ha Just fyi I'll take 87 EVIL DIES TONIGHT chants and a woman prepping to take Michael out with an iron over Halloween Ends. lol I've enjoyed all your Halloween reactions! :)
Best sequel maybe best movie in franchise. Best Michael. Best kills. Best mask. Best comebacks bring everyone back lol. Best flashback. Best House since originally maybe better we can actually see how it looks inside lol. In original its so dark can't see much of inside lol
See... the theme of this film is a town becoming the evil they so desperately want to kill. Laurie's obsession becomes the whole town's obsession, which turns them into raging monsters. Like villagers with pitchforks. It's vaguely familiar... Frankenstein's monster. Also, it calls back to Halloween 4 and the hillbilly good ole boys trying to take down Michael Myers. I'm sad you didn't like it, I really thought you would like it. 😢 Well, at least go into Halloween Kills with an open mind. It's different, not a typical slasher or Halloween film, and is a callback to Halloween III. Also, I think the film was aiming to be more elevated. In my opinion, it worked... and in the future people will come around to seeing it differently.
I get the message they were trying to convey but the execution was just not working for me. I remember not really being a fan of the hillbilly guys storyline either so I guess I'm being consistent. 😅 When these movies spend more screentime on side characters that make really dumb choices, it tends to quickly lose some of its strength to me. Michael vs Laurie. That's where it always works for me (even though I enjoyed the second set of sequels too without her). People really be hatin' on the final one. 👀 I'm watching that tomorrow so I'm very curious!
Oh, well... if you want it to focus on Michael v Laurie, sadly you will be disappointed 😂😂😂 because the theme of Halloween Ends is "evil changes shape," and Michael's lingering effect on the town of Haddonfield. Don't get me wrong... there is certainly the anticipated Michael v Laurie battle. Also, H. Ends had to be rewritten and altered due to the pandemic. The original idea had to be scrapped. And in this movie, I think one of the reason's they didn't pit Michael against Laurie is because it would be hard to do three battles between the two, because with Laurie's injuries she wouldn't survive the second, and it wouldn't be a fair match.
@ah1016 apparently they don't know that or they wouldn't be calling the characters dumb. The dumb ones are in the audience, acting like they would be different in the situation when most likely they would do even worse
Like I said, the flashback sequence is the best part of this film. Everyone was just expendable in this…no one ran away. This entry was just riddled with bad writing and poor plot devices. Have you seen “Hush”?
❤❤❤❤I love my weekly smoke breaks watching u watch my fav franchise. Please please can we see you watching Everything Everywhere All At Once? Jamie Lee’s Oscar win, the most awarded film in history… it’s such a magical film.
The movie started off strong, and just died. Michael was awesome, i feel halloween 4 was peak/prime Michael, and Halloween kills Michael was pretty close to that. Other than that.. this film could've been a masterpiece.. but ive learned to appreciate it after seeing Ends....🤮
Meanwhile in the sixth film, Tommy's competent and ruins Michael's day. Course this trilogy is the Laurie Strode show, so everyone has to be dumb except her.
If u didn't think this was good lmao... don't waste 2 hrs of ur life with next one 😅😅😅😅 it's not even about Michael Myers.... he's in the movie maybe 5 mins ... it's beyond rediculas
This film is a waste of time and slap in the face to the franchise. The director recently remade the new Exorcist and it's awful. Tame and uncommitted. Just what I expected after his Halloween reboots. So anything with this directors name on is translated as a warning not to watch it.
I agree the characters were too dumb at times, however, I felt Michael was at his terrifying best in this film. I liked the film despite characters being dumb at times, but it is not as good as the first film. The kills were excellent. By the way, you're not going to like the third film. This film is great compared to that one.
"You could've just tackled him" 😂😂😂
That's like trying to arm wrestle a gorilla.
My question is "and then what?"
These folks are dumber than the characters onscreen and don't even realize it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The characters in Halloween Kills make rash and/or stupid decisions because of their fear.
It's a legit theme in the movie whether most ignore it or not.
Watching Hawkins miss his shots in Halloween 2018, and seeing him miss his shots in the flash back you realize he’s always been a terrible shot
During the flashback, the reason Michael allowed himself to be captured is because his injuries from being shot would have caused him to bleed out eventually. The only way he'd get necessary medical treatment would be to allow himself to be apprehended.

Ironic thing the kid being bullied is the kid who bullied Tommy and made him break his pumpkin in the original.
Also the same little boy that Dr. Loomis scared away from Michaels house when he was hiding behind the brushes.

The ending though! When Karen dies, I was hoping it was a dream 😢
Awesome reaction. Thank you so much for covering this franchise
VERY FUNNY TOMMY'S THE DUMBEST PESON ALIVE - IN HALLOWEEN KILLS (2021 ) FILM -FIRST TIME MOVIE REACTION !!!
I enjoyed Halloween Kills, I definitely have a few issues with the film but overall not bad. Halloween Ends however is pure trash.
❤
Halloween ends is good only for two things, one, I would be a good movie on its own, and two, the looks of Michael Myers is fucking awesome
And all those townspeople were right... evil did die that night. They died, and so the evil they became died with them.

NGL, these super negative comments about Halloween Ends are getting me lowkey hype to watch it tomorrow. lmao

its easy to call characters dumb, when you fail to realize the audience knows more than the characters
Everyone knows that. The characters are still dumb.
@ah1016 apparently they don't know that or they wouldn't be calling the characters dumb.

really enjoyed your movies❤❤
I loved Michael in this but everything else was pretty terrible. Hate the next entry even more. It's a rough finish after how great 2018 was.

People in reality are dumber compare to a dumb character in a horror movie.

5 minutes of a character’s screen time does not equate to effectiveness.
