This has to be one of the least expected best of 3 comebacks ever. Losing the first set 6-0, being down 2-5 in the third set, against a top 10 player, and ranked 215. Crazy.
or it was scripted and vegas won big
Definitely an insane win. And in front of a home crowd in Japan. Hope the kid keeps going because this kind of win is like winning the tournament
Fritz is getting into the same old pattern before he was top 10. Great one match and bad the next. Can I say inconsistent?
USO '23 WTA SF: Madison Keys bageled Sabalenka in the 1st set. Then Sab fought back to take the next two sets 7-6 7-6.
@@got2bjosh except Sabalenka was world number 1 and this kid is some 200+
He’s not the next Nishikori, he’s the FIRST MOCHIZUKI.
He's a certified bum!
💯
No here’s the first stupid flog who believes in tennis miracles it’s staged you uneducated piss
Yep, u right
Yep , and he is absolutely useless. The guy is incapable of playing 2 sets the same .
Mochizuki has a perfect attitude, and his service returns are incredible. Great newcomer!
I like the way he served and volleyed
The next Japanese player to break into the top 100 in my not so humble opinion.
6 months later and he is back to zero . No fight little skill . 😂
Fun match! What a comeback. Fritz was a true sportsman with the congratulatory at the end. Way to go for both of them.
I was at the match, it was a joy to watch and a great atmosphere in the stadium. Thought he had no chance after the first set and I was just hoping for a respectable score in the second set - but to come back and actually win the match? Incredible! Some great points and quite a bit of serve and volleying from Mochizuki too. A real talent and hope to see a lot more of him.
Firstly, he had NOTHING to lose. Second, he had the home crowd behind him.
He is Wimbledon junior champ, and ranked No.1 in junior tennis! Next nishikori🇯🇵!!
Ex yunior Champ Ex
Lol
Hope he will not go nishikori way!!!
He’s not fast-paced like Nishikori.
Fritz just sucks
Woah! That is actually insane considering that Fritz is top ten and Mochizuki is 210, must be the biggest rating gap loss Taylors had in ages. Edit: spelling
You forget Holt at US Open
Soon Fritz will be out of the top ten as he's a very limited player and a head case. All he knows is hit it deep from both sides and serve big. He's permanently like Rublev was before Andrei got smart. Rublev still has anger issues big time though and Monfils doesn't.
Gael enjoys just being out there and doesn't much care if he wins or loses.
@@tonymiller6847Pretty much this. Fritz can hit the ball well, but being a top player requires more than that.
@@tonymiller6847agreed. honestly im kinda shocked he's still top ten. It doesn't feel like he's played very well this year at all. no big tournament victories, and a lot of upset losses (Zhang, Popyrin, Shwartzman, and now this guy).
Shelton will replace him @@tonymiller6847
That's insane! The atmosphere was unbelievable. Wish this guy the strength to maintain that level of spirit and performance.
The unquestionable beauty of tennis. Anyone can have a wonderful day.😊
It's beautiful
@@billionstarsgaming Indeed mate
His returns was out of this world
Yeah, looks like the return and backhand comparable to Djokovic’s
He reminds me of Hewitt. Flat backhand, not tall, quick movement, proper volley, but more offensive.
@@pino6koirino don’t see a lot from these highlights but backhand is rather flat, but looks like sometimes he hits down the line for a winner and grunts like Djokovic. Forehand is very aggressive though. Yeah some similarities to Hewitt.
Lleyton Hewitt won Wimbledon and was ranked number one until Roger Federer appeared and dominated along with the Spanish bull (Rafa).
@@pino6koirino
@@tehatte that extended grunt backhand down the line was very much like Djokovic. Maybe he models his game like a young aggressive Djokovic.
vamos mochizuki. great mentality and fighting spirit for such a youngster.
Well played Shintaro 👏👏👏 🇯🇵
Huge respect for thus guy. He got nothing to loose and that is an incredible advantage.
From 2-5 down, this man was a human highlight reel. Good dub
Translation: "I'm really wondering how [Mochi] won, but when I look at the story, it makes sense. It was so wonderful. Congratulations!"
@@user-xi9ri3oy2i Translation: "I only watched the first set, so I thought [Fritz] would beat [Mochi] in straight sets, but I was surprised that [Shintaro] won. This victory is truly great."
Wonderful win by Mochizuki.
Thats insane hitting after the bagel first set
Who the fuck is that guy
@@t-bone7988 Some American /s
Mentally tough after getting that bagel ....he went for key winners at the end and they seemed to be all in .......
Well done! Living proof that one should never give away a match until the very last point. 😎🤘🏾
Wow! What a huge win!
My what a come back and what a warrior he is. Great to watch........
Translation: "That's a big win! Good luck Mochizuki!"
losing the 1st set to love to then break taylor to love when he's serving for the match to claim the victory
Thats something incredible from Mochizuki
I hope mochizuki will make a big leap from here. 💪💪💪
We will see his name and matches many more times, based on his power shots and exact placement he put the balls on, I promise will watch your next match Mr. Mochizuki.
Amazing!!! Wow, nice one Shintaro!
The new generation is amazing... I´m very excited to see match´s like that!
One of the best comebacks of all time! Definitely top-10. Well done to him, feels unreal...
This must've been an experience to partake live!! 👏🤩
Great Performance. Happy for young man!!!
Amazing stuff love to see it
On this match he deserves the win, well played speedy tennis!!
What a great game he has. Well played
Not just an upset but the way he coolly constructed his comeback to do it!
Well done Shintaro!!!!!!!
Great seeing it live in-person. Lots of energy in the arena.
Wow, that felt like watching an Anime.
Congrats Shintaro!
You're hope!
The dude played the best tennis of his life. Amazing feat! Congrats Mochiziku! Beautiful Technique!
Love this - congrats Mochizuki! Please come to Indian Wells, CA in 2024!
Amazed by Mochizuki!! PLUS Taylor is a true nice guy
Translation: "It's been a long time since I was so moved that I cried while playing tennis. I got the same adrenaline rush I got when watching Nishikori's match."
I was able to see the moment a young star was born. That's why tennis is interesting.🎉
Wow! What a return of serve! What a comeback! I like his style Serve and Volley. This young Japanese will be Famous! If he keeps playing like this.
that's a INSANE comeback!!!!
You’re insane, for using the word insane. Can’t you come up with a more educated descriptor? Where did you get your education, if at all? Or are you just trying to sound cool? 😂
Wowzer unbelievable W for the little guy.
What do you mean by little? Do you mean big? Because the winner is supposedly the bigger, no?
Mochizuki for the win! Good luck in the future!!!👏👏👏🍀🍀🍀😇😇😇
Like Nadal said, a sufficiently motivated opponent is impossible to beat
goosebumps!
Thank you Shintaro Mochizuki 。
Just WOW!
Big level young man
Brilliant match
Samurai nenjiroh..prince of tennis 🎾
Wow!! A real Samurai!!
Dude that's awesome.
Great overturn literally!
all I can say is WOW!
Just Wow !!!! 💪💪🔥🔥
This is so good to see. Gutsy play, exciting player. Hope he goes far in his career, he is lacking in the height, but there is surely great potential in this guy.
There is always something lacking, believe me!
bruh i turned this game off at 5-2 because i thought surely this was over
He has a top 3 backhand for sure.amazing future
Unbelievable... 👏👏👏
Wow, nice one!
what a performance from Mochizuki.
Fenomenale👏👏👏👏
He is a new Samurai !!

Translation: "That's a nice flat shot."
The home court advantage, he got pumped up at the end. 👍
That was crazy. Im a bit shocked Fritz was beaten from that far ahead. Maybe that was a mental thing. This can be a brutal sport.
I was there in the arena, and Fritz body language was not good.
@@DC-uc4sh it’s weird. Fritz can be so resilient, like his win against Nadal at Indian Wells and then he can implode. I think when someone starts getting momentum against him, he can fall apart.
One more star is born
Amazing!!!
Credit to Mochizuki, in the last few games he went for everything and it all came off. Fritz on the other hand, played too safe and too defensive.
This match reminds me of a match Fritz had with Zhang zi Zhen, on clay in Madrid (1000). Also a third set tiebreak that ended well for another Asian player. 💪
Your last statement makes no sense. Tennis is an international sport.
@@JohnSmith-xx9th Why doesn't it make sense? It's a simple statement of fact.
@@JohnSmith-xx9th I said so, because there aren't many tennis players from Asia. I find it exciting that more and more people from Asia are making it to the highest level. It's sad that there are so few Asian players at the top, because their population is huge. I'm glad though that more and more are starting to pop up 💪
And I think furthermore that the mental side of the sport may well be a subject of study that Asian people much appreciate. @@RobiHcr2
Vay be, çalışınca ve mücadele edince oluyor işte...Respect from Turkiye!
Great determination and self confidence for this young player 👏👏👏
I feel like Taylor underestimated the guy after winning the 1st set as 6-0
I thought the same.
Wins 7+ points in a row from 4-5. Keeps playing where it works: to Fritz’s backhand

In the front of the home crowd
So cute❤❤❤
Such solid groundstrokes. Could put up some weight and be unstoppable.

what a feel good story, playing the match of his life
Crowd DOES play a part. Perhaps this will teach UsA crowd to be more respect to foreign players, such as Medvedev, Sabalenka, Djokovic, Zverev, Sinner and many more.
Well deserved victory. He earned it.
That's crazy lol. It's not usual. And Fritz has bageled many people coming up lol
Such great fight from Mochizuki! His play and movement remind me a bit of Djokovic. Sounds (grunts) a bit like Djokovic and Nadal, too.
That’s a bit of a reach. He reminds me of Adrian Mannarino
The elders inspire the younger.
