    A wise man once said:
“You got to know when to hold em
    Know when to fold em
    Know when to walk away
    Know when to run
    You never count your money
When you’re sittin at the table
There’ll be time enough for counting
    When the dealing’s done”

It's a royalty free sound which means that content creators can use it without having to worry about any copyright strikes. Though the fact that the chanting sound is very similar to the one used in the song Uranium by Kraftwerk (which has also been used in a bunch of songs by other artists, most notably Blue Monday by New Order) does make me wonder if the sound itself is in breach of copyright.

This is the most informative video I've found! Thanks so much! I'm new to poker and trying to understand heads up holdem so 2 player. So I've started using red dead redemption on xbox as a training aid 😅 but I'm confused... I understand in heads up The small blind is posted by the dealer and big blind by the other player. Then the dealer opens the betting but... I have no idea why the opening bet option is $5cents I.e. equal to small blind instead of the big blind. I also get confused by the switching of turns I.e. big blind leading post flop and also use of checking and which player is leading. Can you please provide some information on how to play heads up so I can play against a friend!

I was saying at a home game two days ago that if you watch an older poker episode like when Raymer or Moneymaker wins, the show would always tell you the basic rules to NL Hold 'em. However if you watch a new one now like poker after dark, they do not and its up to you to learn the game. This video may get some views for newbs learning to play.

I’m novice to the highest degree and based off this video I have more understanding of the rules, betting, rounds etc. but what I didn’t get is how do the cards in a player’s hands correlate to the flop cards? So if the cards in my hand are a jack of hearts and a three of clubs I’ve no idea if that’s a good hand or bad, and idk how such cards would correlate to the flop cards.

If the bet keeps going up, you evaluate your hand and make an
educated guess if you have a possibility of winning, otherwise you fold so as not to lose so much. If you have a good hand, you go “all in” - you don’t have to match the raised amount. But if you go all in and lose, you are out of the game.

Supposing the BB is $2; and the next player decides to raise - the minimum raise is $4 - but decides to raise to $5, the next legal raise is to $8 as the difference between the BB and raise bet is $3. People often mistake raising with doubling the existing bet; the raise has a structure.

Can anyone answer some of my newbie questions please? I do not want to go to a casino and make a fool of myself.
    1) must the blinds increase with time? Can I just standardise the blinds when I play cash games with my friends eg: blinds are always 10/$20. No changes throughout the game.
    2) Player A (small blind) places $10 and player B (big blind) places $20. I’m next so if I want to raise, must I raise double of player B’s amount to $40 or I can raise to any amount eg: $21 , $29, $35 or any odd numbers?
    3) Is it compulsory to have an Ante? How much should Ante be?
    4) Who can check? After one round of betting where everyone “agrees” to placing a bet/raise you started?
    5) Why are some blinds $10/25 and not 10/20 which is double?
    Thank you

    • @anna-pt2eu
      @anna-pt2eu Před 2 lety

1)if your not playing at a casino, then play however you want, although if you are, it depends how everyone else is playing
      2) you can raise it to any amount the you are able to bid.
      3) i think antes only happen if there arent going to be blinds, antes make sure that you are wanting to play that round and blinds are somewhat similar because you have to put in money or fold.
      4) after everyone puts an ante in, or the 2 people do the blinds and everyone else puts in the minimum amount or more, the next round, you can start to check. Anyone can check but if someone before you puts in money, your only options are to fold, pay that amount, or raise.
      5) i don’t know
Im not the best explainer but hopefully this helps!

Why would someone fold if they haven’t seen the first three cards?

Someone would fold if they were neither big blind or small blind and they had a really bad hand. Then you are able to fold with no loss

i managed to get here because someone made a doom mod that turns the game into a tactical shooter someone else then thought i should make a sub mod for this mod and made a mod that adds merchants you can play poker with (you can also play with other nearby players). this sub mod has this video as a link for folks who aren't to aware on how to play texas hold'em.

3:30 "the muck" why would a player give up without any community cards being placed yet??
If the strength of your hand depends on the community cards but they haven't been dealt yet so why would someone muck before that?

Sometimes they are on the verge of losing all their money so therefore they don’t take the risk

Assume a hand where you are 3 seats to the left of the dealer. This means you have not yet committed money to the pot, but you must make the first decision after the deal. You look at your cards and see 8 of spades and 2 of hearts. Can they win? Sure, occasionally. Do those cards give you favorable odds to win? Nope.
Fold for free without a second thought. Otherwise, you are taking a bad gamble and will lose more often than you win. They are simply not worth the money it costs to call.
In poker, you won't win every hand. Instead, try to maximize your odds of winning the hands you choose to play. That means choosing your starting cards carefully If you play every hand just hoping to get lucky, you are playing bingo not poker, and you will end up losing money in the long term.
