- A return to Brick Lane E1, London but this time with a smile
I was approached by an Indian restaurant in Brick Lane with an invitation for myself and The MacMaster to come and review their family run business.
After viewing a previous restaurant vlog on my channel regarding another Brick Lane indian food restaurant,
City Spice invited us to come along and film a CZcams video to showcase their premises to sample the Indian food they produce.
The food was fantastic (I tried food I had never tried before, and I'm very pleased I did) I think it is so important when eating out to try a whole range of Indian food
The staff & hospitality was top class (nothing was too much trouble)
(even to the point they were happy to charge Lee's phone with no trouble at all)
Myself & The MacMaster will be returning 100%

Another exceptional blog, brilliant advert for excellent dining. At a loss to understand why watching someone eat a meal is so entertaining and informative, but it is. I hope other restaurant’s latch on to this and invite you to review their dining experience. This is a very powerful way of advertising and deserves to be exploited

I’ve been there! The food is absolutely amazing and the staff is very friendly too especially that lad in blue polo. Had a really nice chat with him last time. I would deffo recommend!

My wife and I went in a month ago for a meal on a Friday evening after I watched this video all those months ago. A thououghly enjoyable experience. From the sincerely friendly and helpful staff, to the food. I can't rate it highly enough!

Hi Darren and Lee, I watched the vlog after I’d eaten my breakfast and I could have eaten that meal straight after , when an Indian meal is good it takes some beating and that was good, you gave them an excellent score not many restaurants get a 9.9 and a 10 , glad you enjoyed it guys, love these London vlogs

Every time Lee mentions ‘that diet’, Mum, Dad and I all just shake our heads at him lol 🤣! I’m currently looking into taking a trip to London (if us Scots are allowed to after the match on Friday night 😜), so would you ever do a vlog on travel advice, such as costs of pubs and restaurants, how to get around using underground trains, taxis etc., things to see and do etc. on a budget? I’ve never been before, but my Gran is from Maidenhead, so used to go all the time when she still lived there. 😊

That looked an amazing experience. So lovely to see friendly, knowledgeable staff with a real passion to deliver quality. That is as important as the meal for making a great dining experience. Im only an hour away from London so this this is on my to-do-list.

When I watch food vlogs especially of this quality I get guided for what my Dinner is going to be. So Indian takeaway it is this evening. The place and more importantly the food looked great. Thats an easy 10 for me Lee hahahahahaha I was going to say 9.9 but I had a sneaky suspicion as I type towards the end you would fool me and call a 10. Good work Darren and Lee. I will just add I normally dislike music on vlogs but in this case I found the background music soothing and very in keeping with the whole deal.

I am subscribed to both of you! Great video as always. As I said yesterday I find it hard to enjoy eating food at the moment. But watching you enjoy your food makes me want to eat more. I am lucky that I live in Ludlow where most of the Michelin chefs hone their craft before heading down to London to open world famous restaurants. There is an Indian restaurant here at the moment called Golden Moments that is out of this world. It is so difficult to book a table as they are always booked even during the week. Going back to your breakfast videos we have a medieval castle where you can have a really nice breakfast and enjoy the view of the castle with coffee and friends and Ludlow seems to be a hub for bikers to explore the area! I will shut up now but once again thank you for a great vlog.

That place looked and sounds lovely. Fantastic pickle tray. Never heard of the coconut option tho. Prawn puri is my all time favourite starter. But I've found up n down England, different restaurants have their own take on it. Some spicy, some creamy, (I adore the creamy one), but I've never had a rubbish one yet. Can't speak for the other bits you had , but they looked great, apart from Butter chicken which I also love. Those 2 are my ideal meal but do have and will have other things

Just one question: why is one of the best Indian restaurants still serving some shredded iceberg lettuce with tomato and cucumber on the side when their pickles are glorious? So many authentic options instead that could be crunchy and refreshing.

I just was there last week on brick lane and I found a Indian restaurant there was very good first time there so I will be back there when I get back to London maybe in 2024 hopefully

As someone who lived in Brick lane for many years I can tell you with certainty that every Indian restuarant on the lane uses prepackaged sauces which you can witness being delivered in big 20L polybags early on a monday morning. They are all a blag! The best proper Indian is Tayyab's on Fieldgate str.
Even better food is Tas Firin (Turkish) up the lane on Bethnal Green Rd.

@@rext8949 It is my opinion that the yellow shop is better.... because..... they were the original bagel shop, plus their portions are more generous and their ingredients are great, I've had both, Bear in mind I lived there for 11 years, I have eaten more bagels from both shops than I care to remember. However I do think that eating once from both will not give you the insight into which is better out of hand.
