@@CharlieVlogs Do think London is overrated , and doesn't help with it being the one of the most expensive citys in the world behind Zürich. That is because London is the capital of the United Kingdom there are nice parts of London , and not so nice parts, due to how the architecture looks, and with it looking abit rough but then again, you get that with most cities , Nicest city in the world ( to look at) is maybe Prague.
@@CharlieVlogsThe coolest things I can think of , ( despite thinking London is overrated ) is that a lot of A-star celebrity's live in London , from singers, to actors, some from Hollywood. Also London has every time of food from around the world , you can find almost any type of food

You don't eat pie and mash with a knife and fork , always a spoon and fork , and you must have loads of vinegar and pepper

Breakfasts, if you lived in a bedsitter, you can make as much as you want. They usually are equipped with a small portable stove/hotplate and sink. Buy your own frying pan and kettle and you're set. When I lived in Harlesden, there was a small cafe near the railway bridge. I could get generous bacon and eggs, a mug of tea, and bread, all for two quid. It was only open until about 9 - 10am and mainly served the truck drivers/railwaymen.

@@AlissaSss23 It's when a young single man needs accommodation and finds a single room in a subdivided old house. The cost is about 20% of his wages and does not include electricity. The bathroom is shared with other room renters/tenants in the home. The room can have a nice ornate fireplace - a bed and wardrobe plus a bench next to a domestic sink. There usually is a small portable electric stove/oven with a hotplate. The door can be safely and securely locked. The Jewish landlord was a very nice man and usually collected the rent with his aged mother from all the tenants once a week. I suppose "bedsitter" is short for a bed-sitting room.

Liquor is parsley sauce but made from the water they cooked the eels in before they jelly them. It’s amazing. Growing up in EC1 it was a staple of my childhood. I make it at home now. That manzes you were in is the one right by my sisters.
Also you missed out on smothering it in chilli vinegar and white pepper 😭

3:40 bang on about knowing where the value is. My favourite pub in zone 1 sells pints for £4-4.30 odd. Won’t reveal where as it’s special and unspoilt😉 but defo got to know where to look.

I've had many fish and chips in my lifetime around UK, and 'Billet Fish Bar' in Walthamstow is absolutely the best I've eaten! 🤤 Hope you're able to try it out in your travels in the future.. and I'll try it at the one you've recommended 🙌😉

If your near Victoria , you cant beat the Regency Cafe, but just aviod the luch time, its always very busy. I am up on 3rd June at Kings Cross, then after a bus to Gigs, even outside the special time, its still very special. Tourist trap Camden for Fish and Chips , same mob as in Spitialfields avoid. You need to be sitting down even at home when you see the prices.

Been to Piccolos on Sheperds market, not the best cafe in Mayfair (da Corradis takes that crown by miles) but for something reasonable they cant be beaten. If were talking genuine value for money in the area I'd venture up to M&S on Oxford Street and check out their Cafe on the top floor, You can bag yourself a very decent meal for way under a tenner with lots of choice. Personally Id recommend the fish and chips.

The liquor in pie and mash is predominantly parsley sauce. They used to actually steep the parsley from the water that eels were cooked in. I’m not fan of jellied eels tho, that’s just a bit too old skool English for my taste! But pie and mash is an English classic! 😋

Charlie mate , you need to come to Portobello Rd and try the chicken schnitzel stall opposite more or less the Electric Cinema , has been there at least 30 years maybe more , Polish guy used to run it , his son dose now , great food , further up the road where it meets Golborne Rd , there are a couple of food stalls that will blow your taste buds away , you will want to eat there every day , check it out , p
