  • Carrying on with the "Lockdown Equipment Series", here are some ways to attach weights to the Go Side Mount Razor 2.5 harness.
I’m showing both the traditional T Weight system as well as the newer weight pockets. I particularly like the spine weight system as it folds flat when not in use.
I shot and narrated the video in real time to try and show that it is fairly quick and simple - so no reason not to try the setup these days :-)

Hi Vas, I noticed you're using a loop bungee retainer/hardware.
Does it come with the Razor 2.5 system?
Do you prefer loop vs continuous bungee?
    Thanks

      Hi,
The actual retainers are "normal" triglides with small loops of cord. I prefer triglides with a lowered middle bar so the webbing runs through very smoothly and sits down very flat. You can see videos of making these here.

For the story about "loop" vs "continuous" - it can get rather controversial. However, the Loop bungee provides a far better hold, particularly when the cylinders get heavier. The continuous bungee is simpler and has the advantage of being able to be cross clipped should you have removed one cylinder. Lastly, the loop bungee keeps the chest D rings cleaner and not pinned down - which I find more convenient also.
I dived for years with the continuous with multiple stage cylinders and since making the switch to Loop Bungee, I will not go back to using a continuous :-)
Hope you give them a try and do let me know how you find them. Cheers.

      @@DiverbyDesignThanks for the reply Vas.
I meant the hardware on the spine webbing, below the delta shoulder plate. Is it from SUMP UK or does ot come standard with the new Razor 2.5?
On the continuous bungee, I haven’t tried one yet but looking at the videos it seems the loop has a better hold.
      Thanks

@@strongestkarate Ah, OK, so yes, the silver spine plate you see is from Sump UK and a great piece of hardware for me. However, you can use the included Razor hardware for attaching the loop bungees as well - if you look a few cm below the silver part, you will see a more square black part that comes with the Razor. This actually has a drilled hole on either side and with a modified way of making the loop, you can use it just fine. I don't actually use it because the bungee is then trapped very close to the webbing and makes a bigger bulge - not a problem if you place the part "upside down" and have the bulge away from your back.
I had these plates since my 2.0 and so I just re-used it as I went to 2.1 and now 2.5 :-)

Thanks for the reply and clarification.
I thought they come standard with the 2.5 Razor Version. Lol!
Nice videos you have on the lockdown series. Very useful tips and tricks.

You can cut out the extra tape.

Hi, yes, if you mean the extra length of the webbing for the T weight part. I like to keep enough length to let me route it through a variety of weight blocks and the "extra" webbing gets folded over "on top" of the diver and does not press on the body or get in the way, so I just keep it for flexibility. How are you using yours?
