Honestly as someone in my early mid 20's , i thought this apparent 'kid' was infact a young teen or younger - not a litteral grown man who is actually older than me!

The level of entitlement is astounding. She seriously went into the ambulance to try to get this lady out?! I feel bad for those kids to have a horrible mom like that
Second Story: "My BaBy!!!, you bastards better not let my baby get hurt" lady, they was just doing that by telling him not to run but yet she has the audacity to tell OP not to tell him what to do?! Honestly, some lessons need to be learned the hard way in my opinion. How is OP and his bestfriend irresponsible when SHE was the one who allowed her little hell spawn to run through the trail, despite the warning. She can sue, but lets see how far that would go for her with all the witnesses going against her. Oh yeah, Best friend's mom ain’t taking none of that bs from this entitled Karen. Wait, wait, wait...that was grown ass man who caused this?! I swear this entire time I thought it was a child

When they arrived I was on the floor lying next to an empty bag of teddy grams and an empty 2l bottle of pop. On a folding table to eat in the living room was apparently my housemates bong and a bag of weed. The ambulance people thought I just got too stoned 🤣🤣🤣
My friend then got woken up by the people talking to me at 3am and them trying to get my incoherent brain to admit I was stoned and wasting their time and he apparently laughed and said it was his, that I have diabetes and asthma and I don't smoke. Then they asked me probably for the first time if my blood sugar had bottomed out. I probably said yes and off to the hospital I went. I would have died if I hadn't somehow found that sugar. My blood sugar was 37 when I got to the hospital.

    Story 1:
Can confirm legit. I'm an EMT, and everything OP wrote was 1) in our language - that is, worded the way most EMTs would phrase things, and 2) completely feasible.
Yes, another ambulance would be dispatched for Karen, because people who have been tazed (at least in my area) are required to have at minimum a 4 lead EKG (sometimes a 12 lead). Yes, the paramedic and his partner WOULD hear it get toned out (again, if it's the same as my area). No, they probably wouldn't be able to comment on it over the radio - but it's a good bet they'd be talking about it back at the station!! 🚑🚒
Why didn't Karen think about having a person with a potential brain bleed watch her kids? First, you're assuming "Karens think". 🤣 Second, Karen wrote her own version of reality in which the patient was faking the problem, or "not really injured", because that reality fits what Karen wants.

Story1: "She has to watch my kids tomorrow!" It's like "Lady, she could be dead tomorrow if we don't take her to the hospital now". Sheesh. My first responder teachers would have kicked that Karen in the face and knocked her out of the ambulance. Man, so this Karen would just dump her kid's on the old lady's doorstep even though this lady has had strokes? I'd tell her "I'm not going to watch your kids ever again and if you leave them I'm calling the cops to report you for child abandonment". My best friend got dropped off at his grandma's house for her to babysit. He walked in, saw she was dead, and ran back out and had to chase the vehicle (can't remember if it was his mom or dad-- they weren't together). Another time, his grandfather was supposed to be babysitting my friend's daughter. He took the wrong meds and passed out & the girl couldn't wake him up. The daughter thought he was dead and was panicking. She couldn't wake him up and she couldn't get the door open. The neighbors heard her screaming, went to check, and called my friend. Poor kid was traumatized.
Story2: If I'd been the hiker the "kid" was clinging to, I probably would have kicked that fucker to make him let go and let him slide. Oh, so the "kid" was an adult. WTAF? I thought EK was like 12 or something. Knowing that. Hiker girl should have curbstomped his face until he let go.
Story3: I'm glad OP's boss stood up for her. I know some bosses would have tried to demand OP give the necklace over. Poor kid though. Was supposed to be her birthday coming up and she had to deal with a Karen like that for a mother.

    First Story:
*Old lady neighbor falls, hits her head badly, yells in pain*. Karen: I sleep.
*Old lady is in back of ambulance, being treated for possible stroke*. Karen: Real shit?
Second Story: Yeah that is a reckless endangerment charge waiting to happen. What did she not understand about the dangerous slope, the guides directing them across at risk to themselves.
Thing is, I don't know whether the 29 yr old son gets charged or the mother, or both perhaps. hopefully both because its disgusting behavior.
Third Story: Karens thought process: "Ahh yes, that necklace that's not part of the display and clearly on an employee's desk, I wanteth that one."

I used to work casino security. One night in the middle of winter we found a dude passed out in the parking lot when it was in the mid teens outside. I called our casino dispatcher to contact EMS and on a gut feeling the cops also. We woke the guy up and started talking to him. Pretty obvious he was drunk, high, or both. Cops showed up about 30 seconds before the ambulance. Cops start talking to the dude and he was pretty chill with them. Ambulance crew evaluated him and other being intoxicated and in the early stages of hypothermia he was fine. At this point the cops tell the guy he needs to go in the ambulance which means he will spend the night in the nice, warm ER, get warmed up, sobered up, food, and fluids and be released the next day. He just needs to sit on the gurnery so they can strap him for the ride to the hospital. At this point dude stops being chill and his intoxicated brain decides it would be a good idea to attack and fight 2 cops. Dude ends up being introduced to the pavement face first. Ambulance crew reevaluated him and say yeah he still fine. He got a ride to the ER in the back of a cop car with hand cuffs on instead of the nice warm ambulance and instead of staying the night in the hospital he spent a few days in jail. Gotta love drunk, stoned people logic.

A stair chair sounds amazing. I'm a volunteer fire fighter and where I live my department gets called out for lift assist. All we have are body boards or a tarp with handles.

The way they make hiking boots, you wouldn’t feel someone stepping on your toes too much
