As a blues fan in the building for game 6 vs Colorado, I looked at my dad and said “I don’t know if I have the nerves for overtime,” and Colorado proceeded to go down the ice and score and the breath was sucked out of the building. Wanted to cry lol, congrats Colorado on the cup win.
Yeah, I swear the Avs weren't happy unless they were giving the fans heart attacks. Not sure it would have been the same narrative for the Avs if Bennington had been available for the whole series. Blues were a tough out for sure. Hope the Blues can figure out their roster. I may be an Avs fan, but i am also a fan of good hockey, and this post season was a treat.
Was there too. People in my section kept saying we were a “overtime team” and it’ll be fine. They literally jinxed it seconds before it happened. I will admit a lot of fans were too drunk to be upset.
The fact that the Avs shit the bed and lost will forever prevent this goal from being one of the best playoff goals to date. (I am also a huge Avs fan.) Of course the Avs would go on to redeem themselves in OT a few more times. I believe they came from behind in 9 of their final 12 wins.

That whole “round 2 curse” was a bit overblown, in 2019 they took a more powerful sharks team to 7 and only lost cause of a bad call. In 2020 they were playing on a third string goalie and without one of their best d-men and still took it to a game 7 ot, and 2021 was their only real choke.

That gifted 5-3 for Tampa against Toronto is such a shame. Refs were doing it all playoffs long for them, glad they eventually lost in the final though.
As a ranger fan (also NYI+NJD), games 5-7 of R1 were just a roller coaster of emotions, but when that R1 G7 OT goal happened I legit went crazy, and the Carolina series was wild as well. I just wish we could have won against Tampa Bay cause I’ve never seen a hockey team of mine win the Cup since like the year I was born (98)

You missed the pittsburgh goal in game 7 against the rangers where the guy (I forget who scored it) kicks it up to himself and bats it into the net it was incredible. Also lots of great ones in the final for a part 2
I was in the building for that and I thought it was a prank. I just sat there for a few minutes in disbelief how the Oilers could come back from being down 3-1 and 4-2 only to gift LA the series lead, but after game 6 I knew they weren't going to lose with how they man handled LA even without Nurse. Games 6 and 7 were so tense to watch I almost couldn't handle it. Then the oilers went to round 2 against the flames and everyone counted them out, only for them to gentleman's sweep the flames after giving them game 1 only to remind them that the battle of Alberta historically doesn't go Calgary's way unless the oilers help the flames by scoring on themselves. There were so many great goals from the battle of Alberta series that were missed along with the Kempe goal that I hate to admit was a great goal.
Here are my top 3 goals from the 2022 playoffs: #3: Sebastian Aho's tying goal vs. Rangers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. #2: Nazem Kadri's insane game winner in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final vs. Tampa Bay. #1: Johnny Gaudreau's series clinching goal vs. Stars. This one gives me chills every time. I love Gaudreau.
My heart still breaks for Jake Oettinger on that Gm 7 Gaudreau goal. That was the only way they were gonna beat him that night. Its probably the greatest single game performance in a losing effort I'll ever see. He was a wall that night.
Beezer in game 4 1996 cup finals too. I’m an Avs fan and a damn strong case could have been made for him to get Conn Smythe anyways. If Salic had maybe one less OT goal…
at 8:25, im new to really being a hockey fan, I love sports betting..I actually had money on the oilers, they were up 2 going into 3rd, got cut to 1, then back to 2..that guys stick was def above his shoulder, so isn't that no goal? or was the call correct? btw, great video man, you're getting a like a and sub from me.
"high stick" calls have a weird gray area when it comes to goals. From what I understand, If the puck is deflected off a stick, it depends on when/where the puck makes contact with the stick- relative to the crossbar. As long as the stick is at OR below the crossbar when the puck is deflected it's not blown dead. Lehk's stick was just at the crossbar's height when he touched the puck. Again this is just my understanding of it and I could be completely wrong - the NHL's rulebook (seemingly) changes every day, but the goal was reviewed by both the league and the officials in the building so it counts. This goal and the Makar offside goal still confuse me as an Avs fan lmao
One goal I think should've been added was the winning goal in game 5 by TB, even though they lost that series, that was gutsy win on the road and if they split the 2 OT games as you would expect, IMO if a game goes to OT in the playoffs, its a coinflip, yet they lost them both, it could've been a different outcome. But, the better team won, imo.

Would've been perfect if that Mackinnon hat trick ended the series, but oh well. The game 6 winning goal was spectacular. When they came into the zone I thought, "There's enough time, they could score." Then the cross ice pass happened and time slowed down.
