- Nottingham Forest sent shockwaves around the footballing world following a tweet in which they claimed that the man in charge of VAR (Stuart Attwell) was a Luton Town supporter. This came shortly after Nottingham Forest's 2-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park in the premier league, a game in which they were denied 3 stone wall penalties due to fouls by Ashley Young. The following video details why Nottingham Forest are correct in their decision to call out referees in the premier league, and what it might mean for the sport moving forward, particularly it's relationship with the PGMOL, who have now been accused of corruption.

Uti is one of the best football news channels on CZcams he always gives a balanced view on stories and he is spot on with this. Even neutral fan’s admit there are certain teams that get harshly treated by the refs and Var and Forest are top of the list. The premiership the rules and bias stinks.

Premier League refereeing is designed to ensure the top clubs stay at the top and the lower clubs stay at the bottom. Forest with their big spending have been singled out for relegation, as they offer a significant threat to the current PL social order.

Nottingham Forest are now taking steps to sue PGMOL. God I love my club, I hope marianakis uses his vast wealth to destroy this organisation (and trust me, he is a very vindictive man). If we should get relegated it is going to cost them big time.

Well done Uti, another great video, I honesty had enough yesterday, the amount of decisions going against us now has got to be more than just incompetent refereeing. Also not once yesterday did they stop the game and wait for VAR to analyse the slow motion replay, the Luton fan just quickly dismissed the penalty decisions. It seems that the majority of fans online commenting are in support of Forest tweet but the pundits and officials are complete against it. Also, WE HAVE HAD JUST 1 PEN SEASON!

I'm coming at this from a similar angle to you Uti (Utd fan and follower of Forest).
If Clattenburg's advice was for Forest to post their grievance on X, then that's what they employed him for. GN has no right to demand his resignation and your comments about him and JC are spot on.
The BBC ran a story today saying Forest didn't ask for the VAR ref to be changed. They didn't. They expected he'd be yanked due to a conflict of interests, but alas, this didn't happen and Forest duly got shafted with several bad decisions (again).
The PL are seemingly determined to relegate Everton and Forest while Man City get away scot free.
These decisions aren't evening themselves out over the course of a season like we are told they do, Forest are just getting habitually stiffed week after week and if the refs aren't called out for their incompetence now, it's going to cost them their PL status.

I’ve totally lost respect Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher. Glad Saha spoke the truth.
Spot on Uti, this is my take on the statement, the chuckle brothers and officiating.
VAR and alround officiating was a joke. I thought the club tweet was needed although the VAR Luton fan comment will lose support from other quarters. The PL need to be held to account for poor administration of the league and the poor officiating that they employ.
Keith Hackett has written in the Daily Telegraph today about the rules of referees and their club allegiances and states that this is a matter of management. Which essentially backs up the point that Attwell should not have officiated the game.
I also think Carragher and Neville should just shut up, they were a disgrace on their Overlap program clearly admitting to Greg Mitchell that they know nothing about Forest. They are more than pundits they are in the world of Sports Journalism and are lazy regarding teams outside the top 6, just like the rest of Sky. If you know nothing, you forfeit the right to pass comment. Keith Hacketts point proves this is another area that Carragher and Neville know nothing about. The person Clattenburg was talking to again shows how little Carragher knows as it was the Forest CEO!
As for Neville calling for Clattenburg to resign is pure hypocrisy. Did Neville not criticise Saudi state ownership of four clubs in their league and the influence they have on the English game, only to openly welcome Qatari ownership of MU, having been paid significantly by Qatari state TV beIN during the World Cup and criticising English press for any criticism before and during the WC!
The standard of Officiating in PL is amongst worst in the world. If I were at UEFA I’d not take a single PL ref to the Euros. Anyone but a PL ref. The good thing for England is a PL ref can’t officiate an England game but I’d not wish one on any other country.

I think if the same incidents went against Man Utd or Liverpool, they would have a very different view. The fact is, at least one, if not all those incidents, would have resulted in a penalty kicks for what is perceived as the big 6 clubs.

Absolutely bang on.While I was surprised at the tweet Forest made, I'm glad they made it and calling this out because nothing has been done the whole season despite multiple VAR and ref failures. Forest have basically taken a potential hit in fines or whatever by the FA still to be decided I'm sure, in exchange for ensuring this is now escalated on behalf of Forest and all other clubs. UTI don’t forget Willy Boly being wrongly sent off against Bournemouth and Maddison punching Yates in the chest against Tottenham and not getting so much as a slapped wrist. I totally agree, Carragher taking the moral high ground is rather nauseating. He is the one that should have felt the full force of the law after gobbling on a 12 year old.

Folk saying that the tweet was clumsy and embarrassing or that someone unauthorised sent it are missing the point.
I think Forest sent it because they knew it would invoke huge scrutiny.
Without the accusation of bias it would of just been seen as the usual moan and swept under the carpet, then forgotten about.
Risky move? Yes, but for the Prem to fine or otherwise punish Forest it will have to go through a process of scrutiny covering the whole circumstances of the VAR nonsense which just the usual complaint would not.
Already PMGOL (a limited company?) are disputing that Forest asked them to consider replacing Attwell before the match and I sincerely hope that Forest have some evidence to prove that they did.
Yea exactly something needs to change I back Forest 100% in their decision they may get punished for it but they do need to be called out and yes PGMOL is indeed a Limited Company just a not for profit one

An independent body of individuals (hundreds of people), who knows something about football should rate referees week after week. Their next assignment should depend on their ranking. We rank a piece of chocolate bar. How come we can not do the same thing when so much is at stake?

Agree Wolves and Forest are the top 2 teams to be shafted by VAR. Wolves at least 10 points down and at £2.7 M per league position that’s real money. For Forest it could be much worse relegation!

I’m a Forest fan and I think the statement was childish. But warranted. It does seem that the prem want the reds to go down and are doing everything they can to make that happen. Sky pundits are normally cretins and I’d expect nothing enlightening or sensible to come from them. Those VAR decisions at the weekend were heartbreaking.

Forest should be ashamed,they benefitted from 2 VAR decision against Huddersfield in the play off final otherwise they might not be in the Premier League,stop crying,you've gained massively from VAR mistakes to get where you are,Huddersfield could have lost £100m plus through those decisions.
Well at least those incidents went VAR. The point is no one is blaming Everton just the incompetence of the referees and VAR itself.
TBH I detest my club going public with their justifiable complaints regarding the woefully incompetent (and admitted so by PGMOL) officiating witnessed by fans of many clubs this season but in particular Forest. But clearly all the 'behind closed doors' discussions and correspondence evidenced by PL's TV station partners in crime leaves little option but to keep quiet and just take it.
I worry now the narrative is set and the damage is done. Forest feeling sorry for themselves, it's everyone else's fault, we're playing against 14 'men' etc does nothing more than seed the thought we're beaten before kicking a ball so may as well just accept our fate and return the the Championship, when in truth the players are as much to blame for their toothless performance v Everton at GP as the officials are for yet another woeful show. They need to turn up and PERFORM like their jobs depended on it, but no, only Williams showed any desire imho.
Besides the pen shouts (and they ALL should have gone upstairs and been reviewed pitchside) only Woody's attempt that was saved by their GK was worthy of note. Lots of tidy play in midfield but no cutting edge whatsoever and yet again a failure to close down the attacker with bodies on the line to block. How we miss Worrall, he would have.
It is without doubt the most consistently piss poor officiating I've witnessed in five decades or watching Forest and we, like all teams have had some shockers over the years. VAR is discredited. No use whatsoever when use of it it so arbitrary and opaque. But empty threats from the club about considering their options is simple grandstanding, adding to the woe is me narrative. I'm done with it as a competition. The evidence leaves the stench of the competition being rigged. I don't believe in conspiracies but seems to me the PL don't like clubs rocking their boat. Back to the EFL Championship. The best competition by far even if the football isn't always sublime. At least it was entertaining!

If you see the third one, Young makes a touch with the ball but its hard to see due to the camera angle, and the Forest player trips on the ball as it rolls. The ref saw this clearly. Forest CEO a joke. Also, how would Luton gain an advantage??? Everton are almost just as close to Luton in the table! Forest should get points deducted for this behaviour.
