Thrilling video, great job!
Glad you enjoyed it!
It's so huge that you can actually put a kid inside and give him a joyride.
and go straight to jail - do not collect !
A VERY impressive model! Love all the camera angles. Gotta say that "50 Foot Obstacle" at the end of the runway looks like it was placed there just to antagonize flyers lol.
MAGNIFIQUE !!! L'avion, le décollage et le vol hyper réaliste !! Et ce ronronnement des moteurs ...! Quel pied !!!! BRAVO MESSIEURS !!!
I liked the wipers most, they looked veeery realistic. Beautiful plane and flight. Thanks PETE.
Barlas N. Aytacoglu many thanks barlas
I actually enjoy seeing the same thing from different camera views! It allows for a different experience and seeing the plane in action from new perspectives. Great vid 👍
Magnifique!
thanks
Like a bird. . i adore the video 👍🙃👍
has to be the best DC 3 rc model made!
Massively beautiful plane, one of my all-time favs!!
I have ridden in several and even had a brief bit of yoke time, Exciting
Well done chaps
***** thanks deek, you lucky bugger getting to fly one !
Amazed at the number of negative comments.. just watch the vid people.. you didn't have to build the model, fly it and take time to film it.. Beautiful aircraft by the way..
thanks wayne, someone with a bit of common sense - lol
Me encanta este jovi...
thanks alfredo
perfect aircraft - perfect flight - thank you and happy landings
Just beautiful!
Piggyback camera rocks!♥️
thanks sensei
This popped up in the side panel and sure glad it did bro. Awesome camera angles. My parents went on their honeymoon in 1951 in a DC3. Safe travels
wow - great memories ken
One of my favorite birds. Fantastic job. Have flown on many of these in my youth.
Beautiful !
Outstanding in every context! The multi-cam angles really add to the experience too! Great build and flying!
+the1realanalogman many thanks
Beautiful RC!
Continue to make Great videos!
Beautiful rendering of a revolutionary aircraft! I loved the various camera locations on the model.
+Mike Dunn thanks mike
I love this video. Thank you.
Beautiful build job! Only one thing I would change, INSTALL 3 BLADE PROPS!
*It needs those Moki Radials.*
Wow! No long runway required with those engines. Nice job!!
Wow its a beast this dak could be used for feature film production and no body would know the difference thumbs up
jeff nicholls thanks jeff, your probally right !
Gorgeous!
As always, excellent film work of a beautiful model
stevegauth30 thanks steve
Lovely job creating this plane. But, no matter how large of a scale DC-3 people make, no one is able to find engines that come close to duplicating the sound of the Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp radials. That's a shame, because that sound has so much to do with the magic and mystique of the real aircraft.
+Jeff Puha Beautiful model but spoilt by the engine sound and two blade props. I am not an expert but surely a model that size could have two Moki radial engines which sound more like the real thing and three blade props. It always amazes me when the owner goes to such lengths to get the details right and then blows it all with the wrong engine and propeller.
+Adrian Larkins There are radial 4 stroke engines available, but are high maintenance. An OS60 or 90 would power this beast as we use them in Australia and Coolpower fuel premixed at about $40 for four litres.
Expensive fuel I agree but I still say having gone to such lengths to produce a fantastic model it is worth going the extra mile. Do you play the piano?
Steinwaygrande , this is the more stupidest idea i've never heared in all my life !!!
Very cool video! I enjoyed the multiple perspective views and especially the ones of the undercarriage working on the landings. Great work on the scale model. The ground shots of the aircraft overhead showed the difference between full scale and RC scale; the big gap between the trailing edge of the horizontal stab and the leading edge of the elevators of the full scale wasn't there on the model. Companies that converted DC3s to turboprops added gap seals. The LMA folks sure have impressive scale models.
many thanks jay, much appreciated - pete,
awesome model nice😁
Stellar unit. Love that tech allows me to fly with you. Well, sort of🙂
thanks
beautiful aircraft , can I ask why it has the twin bladed props instead of the 3 bladed props ? .
What a nice plane~!!
Watch at .75 or .50 speed for a more realistic in-flight scale view.
just a note.......in your editing app - there is this thing called 'audio' where-by you can reduce the volume of the audio of the video - so harsh sounds like wind can be reduced in the final saved video.......... it's not so annoying on the listener and doesn't damage eardrums or speakers.
Excelente Es una maravilla de avión.
Les mando un saludo muy grande para todos .
HERMOSO DC3
I bet they just loved you taking off across the field there !!!!:-)
endwood all u fellas yakking about take off and landings not. following rules.... ever consider wind shear or other conditions causing the operator to run the plane as he did.
So someone just clarify for me. If you fly at a LMA event, with a huge scale model......It's ok to take off from the pit area? Right across the designated flightline where people are stood? Mmmmm ok.
Excelente gracias
What is he plugging in the side of the cowl when starting the engines? I still see the stock magneto on the G-62 engines. Maybe the CH jump starter?
as far as i know its an ignition battery starter, maybe it boosts the start up sequence and then the magnetos take over ?
@@tbobborap1 yea I think so too. I search the CH jump starter and that’s the only thing I could think of.
Superb!
MilPlanes1 thanks
Wonderful
Graceful.
Trees at the end of the runway? Good job👍🏼
Beautiful model. How do you attach the cameras without ruining the model/paint work?
Why not radials with three bladed props like it's
suppose to have?
Nice video. I've never noticed, but did the real DC-3 have a full-width flap under the fuselage? This model is nice but would be awesome with miniature radials and three-blade props.
thanks brian
DC3 is and always was a slow bird ... what is up with the high speed fly by's? Great model though.
Nice like to have seen a cockpit cam
Thanks
Cracking.Simples. :)
Love how you put the video together very nice Pete cheers fella from Yorkshire
dooce100 thanks rich, cheers from essex,
I like your editing and know it take a buttload of time. One more camera on Dave's thumbs would be acceptable. Hope the door latch is fixed. Nice Flying!!
Bill Flynn thanks bill
Nice airplane.
What would look good is a camera in the cockpit
WOW!!!
sure did set her down softly
If the full length flap scale? I've never noticed that before.
top model flys great any one notice the door is not shut port side
Pretty Big, how would you get that thing into a VW???
nice bird looks like a nice flyer........j
jfingerskeys thanks
Needs a dozen parachutists
Why is plane "Junkers Ju 52" so slowest than DC3 ?
Nice C47. Seems to have a lot more dihedral on the r/h wing than the l/h.
Ted Smith thanks ted, she is 18 yrs old and probably a little worn now !
Die DC - 3 gehört zusammen mit der Ju - 52 als Modell so wie im Original zu den zwei schönsten Flugzeugen der Welt !!!!!!!

With all due respect, you make great videos but the on board stuff is getting a little old. I personally rather just see the film from the ground of the flight, but hey that's just my opinion and it's your videos so do what you will. Thanks for all your videos.
What would a model that size cost? I'm not into rc planes. I'd just like to hang it from my ceiling.
Dave Johnson how you doing my old mate .....stu perks
Nice model, but spoiled I think by not using 3 bladed props. I don't recall ever seeing a twin bladed prop on a DC3 in my 70 years on this earth. Perhaps I am wrong?
Door open, flaps not retracted completely, taking off diagonaly to the runway, forgetting to retract flaps after take off.. I don't know man. There's something wrong with the pilot :D :D Just kidding. Nice plane.
if its 1/5th scale ,can it carry 545Kg?
lol - no as its made of balsa & plywood
Didn't take much to get her tail in the air. Flies perfect, just like the real "Goonies". At 18yrs. she's just being broke in. Nice touch with the chrome prop hubs.
bob dyer thanks bob, dave is gonna put two radials in her and repaint her with camo and invasion stripes !
That will really make her fly! The camo with D-Day markings will be icing on the cake. FANTASTIC! - Bob
Try 60cc Saito Radials, you will feel and hear the differece.
He would feel... The lack of power.. 😉
The infamous "Gooney Bird"
The cargo door is open on this one also.
I thought for a moment that skydivers were going to jump out from the door!!!
Right on!
BossaNossa1 heh.... i was gonna post that, but you did it first.
Right on!
If only the cabin door was shut
Nice job, but a little bit more of work in the windshield would be perfect! There's a tiny but important difference between the model and the real aircraft, it's worth a perfect representation of the great DC-3 in a model like this one. Congrats!
+Santiago Fernández Court thanks for your comments santiago ,
what difference in the windshield is it your referring to ?
The outer little windows of the windshield are square following the line of the center ones, those windows are trapezoidal in this model. The things is that this aircraft has a lot of details that make it what it is, in my opinion that detail on the windshield is one of the most important. Give you this link with a reference picture: upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/56/G-AMSM_cockpit.JPG
thanks santiago ill have a look !
Sound like a leaf and grass blower. Also, these aircraft had four-blade propellers.
Three blade props not four...
I hate the sound of single piston engines. I the real plane has radial engines, why not using radials in the model? You can get the same or more power from radials and the sound in more convincing.
Luckily no one has the chance to recreate 9/11
1:5 scale? ... more like 1:20
?
you are flying this big airplane like a beginner, jesus, taking off across the field, not using the whole runway...WTF ? you're not flying an avistar for crying out loud
