      The Kimchi I eat comes in a bowl and I pour boiled water on it. It is a bit spicy but has a nice kick to it. Seems kind of primitive to what you made here. You have come a long way since this video, I don’t think nervousness is an issue for you any more! 🤪\🕶/

    Kimchi was the first korean food I had ever tried, I've loved every single thing I've tried since. It's so spicy and vinegary yumminess. I love spicy things and vinegar so it hooked me instantly.

      There's no vinegar in kimchi, the bacteria produce lactic acid during fermentation which gives the kimchi a really sour and tangy flavor.

    I already liked kimchi but she is literally the reason why I am going through jars and jars of it at an accelerated rate since watching her. I try to incorporate it in every dish I’ve made this year and my bfs not a fan so I get to enjoy it all to myself so ty for making fall more inlove with it.

    the last kimchi I've made developed its taste over about 3-4 months and we finally ate the last piece after about 10 months and it was still perfect. felt like this stuff cant get bad, once the fermentation is done. love it.

    To remove the garlic / onion smell on hands. You can get these stainless steel soaps it just metal and it removes any odor from cooking. I have one it amazing, it does work in seconds not need to scrub. Brought it from Amazon!

    Thank you for this video! Got the ingredients (except for daikon and Korean pear [couldn’t find those]) online and the kimchi turned out sooooo good! Combined your recipe with Maangchi’s and added carrots and chives 💜💜💜💜💜💜

    Tap the edge of the jar a couple of times on the table and it'll easily twist off (it breaks the air lock by slightly deforming the shape of the metal lid) :)

    For the garlic smell on your hands, if you run your hands on stainless steel (i use my knife...very carefully of course), it takes the smell away. I've even seen stainless steel "soap" (stainless steel in the shape of a bar of soap). You rub it around your hands like you would with a regular bar of soap, and it gets rid of the smell on your hands.

    I love how you stress about the details. I made kimchi the first time and it came out perfect. Then afterwards it would come out a bit unsatisfying. The second batch was a bit slimy after a week. Now that I think about it, I probably didnt add enough salt and let it rest longer. Thats probably how it turned out weird. But I will follow ur instructions.

    by using the tip of a tablespoon gently pry between the glass and lid, you will hear a gentle pop which removes the vacuum in the jar. The lid now comes off really easily. Enoy your vids, keep it up.

    Hi. I really love this video. I've always wanted to make kimchi and most of the vids I've seen here about making kimchi just felt difficult to follow (either the video is too complex or the ingredients are too complex).
