i appreciate that the videos come even on the downstreak. The last 15ish drafts of the vintage cube were really rough after 50+ solid ones so its nice to see that the variance applies even to higher level players! (notably your drafts are a lot harder but still).

When the chips are down and the losing streak is long, what do we do? Draft white aggro.
Kinda brutal to go in and immediately get spiral, echo, force, LED, etc. but that's the way it goes.
Kinda felt like in these last drafts we have been a little too married to the first pick. I would slam time spiral p1p3, simply based of the fact that the pack is just horribly unexciting, and since it is early in the draft I'd rather just draft for upside.... especially since only card for mono-white is a Giver of Runes which I'd want to wheel since I'd only want to be mono-white if it's ridiculously open anyways.

Just fyi Syr Ginger gets a +1/+1 counter and scries 1 with bauble. You were arguing about synergies with bauble at 50:57, and thats some value, more than shuffling with scholar

The shatterskull smashing was a red herring I think. You guys can game each other like that to send false positives and in this case at least, it netted him 2 tier 1 cards. If that's what he was doing, well done.
I had the exact same thought. Especially to LSV since they know he pays especially close attention to signals like that. If it was a plan from an already red drafter, it was absolutely brilliant and paid off in spades.

Sandy plays mono white more than most, and there’s a reason he often plays red with it, because white isn’t that deep and you have to be lucky to by getting moxes or the top white cards and tons of wheel picks. This deck could have had rag and fury if it was Boros like sandy usually does. In other words, only go mono white if you are being handed tons of high picks, but when you aren’t, def add a second color, usually red.

The losing streak is tough. Maybe some arena cube is what we need to break through
is there a reason why Phyrexian Revoker or Manglehorn was not consider for last game? Revoker seems really good against Jitte, Copther, Dog and Mystic

Was looking at your cube list because I'm thinking of proxying it for my playgroup, and I cannot for the life of me figure out why Phyrexian Dreadnaught is in tye cube. So I guess my question is why?
Underworld Breach + Altar of Dementia + Dreadnought. It's also usable after sneaking other things into play.
But yeah... I could see Phyrexian Delver for reanimator or Devourer for Thassa's win being the intended cards too.

In honestly makes me feel better about my bad cube season to see LSV have a string of bad runs too.

If you first pick Dungeoneer and this is a MTGO league draft, you end up with a sick 3-0 white deck with Solitude, Jailer, maybe Swords, and so on. If you do it in team draft, you get wrecked and end up with a half playable deck. 😢
taking advantage of the bad streak, you should play storm, especially if you don't play in teams.

This deck was horridly mediocre but mono white artifact midrange is one of the cooler lists I've seen in the cube ❤

Is it just me or is Luis really overvaluing the initiative cards? First 8 picks coulda been coveted jewel, workshop, time spiral, echo of eons, force of negation, candelabra, LED, and arcane denial…sheeeeeeeeez.
I think he does too a bit, they’re good, but they are risky too, they can often lead opponent into good spots by taking it from you. Similar to jewl. They’re def good, but I think he overvalues them too.
Ah yes, I like a good comeback story. Like Kim Kardashian.
