Mothers mag aluminum polish amzn.to/3o7HrLj
0000 steel wool amzn.to/3wtZpeT
Mothers California Gold wax amzn.to/3H5CADh - Auta a dopravní prostředky
always use paste wax on your chrome after you polish it, keeps it nice for a very long time
my harley used to set out side, I would take some of it apart and polish the chrome and wax once a year , If I didn't wax it I would do it every 6 month
Thanks for the tip!!!!!
Keep doing that with Steel Wool and I'd imagine you won't have much chrome left in a short period of time. You want something softer than the chrome. Such as brass. Tin foil and water works on most rusted chrome.
I've used that also, these are after market bumpers that ill have redone in the future.
You have a great voice. You remind me of Jim Neighbors. Very friendly and helpful. Great video. Gonna try this in my 74 Grand Ville
Awesome thank you!!! It works pretty well!!
My first car 66 VW beetle, I have had at least one VW for the last 50 years. I moved from Florida to Ohio because the 6V wouldn't pass inspection, and I wasn't going to give it up.
Man thats awesome, I love my 66, I have a new airride bag beam for the front that I'm gonna install on it in a video soon I hope lol
Love this video! Thanks so much for the detailed information! You inspired me to get busy on my Ghia..,please keep these videos coming! I appreciate you
Awesome thank you very much, I plan on getting it out and driving it a good bit this year. I love them Ghia's!!
@@ACDesignsGarage ----------- It's a mystery. -Quick Glo has disappeared. No one can contact the owner's that made a famous ad with Jay Leno. Inventories have disappeared in the U.S. ,U.K. and Australia. Does anyone know for sure what is happening? I ordered a large supply months ago from their Website which is still running. I rec'd nothing not even an email confirming my order. Quick-glo is the best for chrome and rust and as a preventative. If you know what has happened; please please report on your findings.
That was an incredible result wow
Thank you, I was pretty amazed myself lol
@@ACDesignsGarage I went and bought the same exact steel wool pad and found another product you would probably find cool as well. It's a Rust-Oleum spray gel rust dissolve. I'm going to try that instead of the water or vinegar and see how it works. I think it will work great for getting into little nooks and crannies, I'm also going to soak down the frame and underbody and scrape off any rust I can find before doing an undercoat to protect the other side of the car.
@@2pink1stink awesome I may try that also, thanks for the tip!!!!
Thanks for the video. It was a huge help
Awesome, thanks for watching!!!
Now that looks good.
Thank you, it works pretty good!!
Good video and thanks for the links to products you used
No problem Thank you for watching!!!!
Great advice. Thank you. However that bumper is a knock out. I really do miss these things from the past. Well what I really mean is, progress to most people is plastic and EV's. I'm no longer interested in what people say today but what the might have to say in the future. I also keep that Mothers Mag polis in my workshop. It is also very usefull on plastic headlights.
I totally agree, not a fan of new design or EV, thats why my AC Designs Garage tshirts say on the back "Death Before Electric " hahahah, thanks for watching 👍
Great information. I need not to be lazy & do this on my Morris Minor. Not wishing to offend you Uncle Sam but sound like Gomer Pile (Jim Neighbours) from 'Andy Griffith Show'
See my classic 1964 Morris Minor (termed as the British VW Beetle) is not garaged. With the UK climate they rust like it is going out if fashion. So I need to clean these up & put them in the loft & only put them on when I have a car rally.
Excellent thanks for the information
Thank you very much!!!
Great Trick! 👍
Thank you !!!!!!
Looks good ty for the info
Thank you and thanks for watching!!!
Thank you very much for your video! I have a 1970 with some rust in the bumper! Keep up the good work! From Seattle Washington! ✌️✌️
Awesome thanks for watching
Good god that’s lit
How would I get rust off of the wheel wells? How to get in those wells?
The fast-forward scrubbing version is best. Did the rust ever come back?
Hahahaha it will eventually, if you put a good wax on it it will last longer. But as long as you dont let it get to bad it cleans up fast!!!!
Great video
Thank you!!!!!
Good work ----
Thank you
@@ACDesignsGarage la Wolkswagen nel video e' molto bella - Buona sera da Riccione (Italy) -
Good video!
Thank you!!!!
Just discovered a Jaguar 420G with my friend that’s been sitting for years at his place. We wanna restore it and chrome bumper rust is a bit of an issue. Thanks!
I love those old jags!!!!
Proof the movie Deliverence is real. Didn't understand a word he said.
Hope you have a Blessed day!!!!!
I understood everything he said
@@JIMIIXTLAN That is concerning.
The more u listen the more u catch the hang of these kinda of accents. I love it 😅😅😅
What accent?
Sweet
Thank you!!!!
Awesome vid. You've done exactly what I had mentally prepared to do to restore my w113. There's no negatives to the steel wool right?
I had no issues with the 0000 steel wool, its still holding up, always try on a hidden place first to make sure.
the only negative is that it's not as good as stripping back to bare metal and rechroming. BUT if you know you're not going to do that, then it's great.
@@frankfisher8423 100% agree!!
Big dawg ur gonna laugh but aluminum foil and soapy water and scrub shit comes off. I was sckeptical first.but works
Awesome I may have to try this, thanks!!!!
@@ACDesignsGarage it scratchy it to high hell
what you thing about using vinegar instead of water? and finish it with clear coat instead of wax?
Ill have to try the vinegar, as for the clear, i have cleared over bare metal before but rust still comes back.
aftermarket bumpers, I wonder if clear coat would help ?
Thats what someone else said about them being aftermarket. As for the clear ive tried that but with no luck it kept on rusting, these have held up for a good while like they are now with wax!
Will this work for a 71 bumper also?
Sure, mine still looks good after several months!!!!
Try Coca-Cola instead of bottle water next time. Let that cola stand for a while. That stuff will melt all the rust!
Then clean it with some alcohol or paint detergernent before waxing.
Why Cola? Diet Cola might be even better. - It's the cheapest acid available.
Ill try that!!!!!
Iron remover will help
Thanks for the tip!!!
You don’t need new hubcaps. That scrubbing and waxing is plenty good enough.
I agree there still holding up pretty good!!
The bumpers are probably not the originals.
Original bumpers did not have rubber on the end of the overriders.
Thats nice to know, the guy I bought it from said it was all OG, thanks for the tip!!!!
You should of used the mother's and steel wool combined.
Ill have to try that!!
Try using apple cider vinegar with steel wheel.
Awesome thanks for the tip!!!!
Why did you not use Chrome polish ?
I like to use the mothers polish, it seems to work a little better on bad tarnished items.
I do not think this would work to remove greenish stain on motorcycle exhaust muffler. Also, wax applied to any "restored" exhaust muffler chrome will just burn off and the rust spots will come right back.
Yeah this is just a temporary fix, your better off if you can get mufflers made from stainless and thell never rust.
I would ship all the parts off together to have them all chromed as a group later. I wouldn't buy reproduction parts. Reroduction parts are not as high quality. Sometimes they will send you plastic with painted chrome when buying new stuff so be careful.
I agree, thats probably what ill do!!!
i used these wools and this rust remover cream i bought at this hardware store for some 144 spoke lowrider wheels and everyone thought i bought new wheels 😂 that stuff worked amazing !
Awesome what kinda lowrider you got, I love some 64 impalas on 13 inch daytons
Uou can remove the rust but if uou dont rechrome it it will rust very fast ...waste of time.
Its a quick fix mine has held up for 2 years now, but my car stays inside , but if you keep wax on it it last longer also
Que du bla-bla bla-bla et avec un tampon Gex inutile 😢😢une ouator ou du metarex sa brie ect sans effort là on ai dans le vrais expérience fait en utilisant depuis 30 ans ce produit 🎉🎉
They make the steelwool buffer pads too
I need to try them!!!!
