oh no I missed it. can you please put a reminder button when you do live show next time?
Hello Tim!
Great work here and on HUB, fantastic channels both. Thanks.
My question:
Can we expect - in the near future - a test and/or recommendation video exclusive to 21:9/24:10 monitors (3440x1440 and above), mainly curved, in the "below-600 $/€" price category?
Above that price actual the winner is clear - Alienware AW3423DWF and Samsung Odyssey OLED G8.
I get many questions about the UWQHD category and hesitate to give recommendation.
MSI Optix MAG342CQRDE and LG UltraGear 34GN850P-B were the 2 monitors I found interesting on different price points.
Thank you in advance, and have a nice day.
Any time stamps on when you talk about the different models?
That was a really cool live, thanks
As many others have mentioned, would also love to see a review of the Alienware AW2723DF 😊
I would love to see if you can test the Alienware AW2723DF and AW2724DM, it has 1440p, 280Hz and 180Hz (OC)!!
Hey Tim!
I have a BenQ EX3501R and another monitor side-by-side.
I really want to replace them both with a Odyssey OLED G9, but I'll be using it for work for 8 hours then a few hours of gaming.
Should I just get the Neo G9? Seems mad to spend £1,749 on a non-OLED monitor though
in your latest DWF review eotf was corrected to be the same as the DW in HDR, are color Delta E's also lower on the DWF like it is in sRGB mode?
Sorry I couldn't find any new measurements for this
Hey, sadly I wasn't able to se the stream but, I just want to know if I should choose the 34 oled from Alienware (dwf) or Samsung (g8). Here in Denmark its basically the same price for both. So I was wondering what you would think is the Best choice. (full AMD build pc)
Damn I missed it, I'm struggling to find out what the perfect monitor would be to pair with the Samsung odyssey 57 inch. I want a smaller one to mount in top of it centered. No clue if another 1000R would be best to fit the curve, a flat, don't know if I want it 27, 32, or even 34 inches either.
I know it's late but, having lg C1 oled for games i find that to avoid Hdr color clipping is very unintuitive.
If you could have a look :)
I see that Tim is aware of our view and he reads many comments. Maybe they don't respond but we can see in videos that they respect us. It's nice. Good work guys.
Good Day! I would like to see a review on the Alogic clarity monitor. Does alogic make a smart monitor?
You should get the LG 24GN60R for tests. An outstanding monitor.
Also maybe get one of the brand new 100Hz IPS budget monitors (like the MSI PRO MP243X) as well? They seem to have finally killed 60Hz.
LG 27GP850pb or 27GR75Q pls ?
Just got a G8 Oled for my 4090. I want to get a secondary monitor for content watching and competitive gaming. Don’t think I’m brave enough to get two Oleds? Should I consider the PG27AQN or something else?
Monitors have made a lot of progress but they are still so compromised. I still don't feel like upgrading my 1440p 144hz TN monitor from 2015.
I want a monitor(1440) w/ a high refresh rate > Only question is will my 1660 super run a 27' or even maybe 32' ultrawide for sim~racing ? Mainly iRacing .
Screen size shouldn't have any effect on performance, it's all in the resolution. Larger monitor at the same resolution will give you a lower pixel density (dots per inch) because you're spreading the same amount of pixels (visual information) over a larger surface area, it takes the same amount of processing power to draw an image on 2560x1440 pixels regardless of density.
So all you need to know is how many frames your 1660 can draw per second across that resolution, the performance will be the same at any monitor size, but the smaller monitor will have a denser pixel grid and look sharper.
I need help.
I waish to change from my Gigabyte Aorus FI27Q to something better in the 500€ price range. What would you recommend?
Gigabyte G24F 2 or iiyama G-Master G2470HSU or AOC 24G2SPU?
Which one will be better and faster?
grabbed an Odyssey g5 and viewfinity s6 off of newegg. probably not the greatest, but for 450 bucks shipped I dont think I did too bad. :-)
any good ips with good realistic color reproduction n able to game at 90hz, 27 or wide 30. mostly daytrading, sometimes gaming
Hi, I just got the PG27AQDM and used it for about 30h, the first few hours, image was perfect, now I can see a vertical line in the center of the screen and whole left side is darker in corners. Is this normal? Can it get better?
I think these streams would be great once a year. Why? Because many more monitors will have been tested, many more have been released as well which can shake up recommandations a lot.
Still rocking my Dell Alienware AW3418DW 100 Hz (OC 120Hz) 3440x1440 ultrawide. One of the OG!
Samsung Odissey G50A ? Opinion ?
Hi, why haven't you been the dell s2721 dgf for 1440p mid range refresh rate ? I've used both the dell and LG variant and I truly believe it's better (you made a video about it too)
Any opinion on the MSI MAG-274QRF-QD-E2 ? 1440p, 27'', 180hz, quantum dot, KVM, upgradeable firmware, IPS, (not gsync. not even nvidia certified, but has async), hdr (probably fake hdr since no local dimming). saw your other monitor review of the gsync msi equivalent of this, but couldn't find anything on this newer model. They didn't have stock for the older monitor so the only option was this E2 version
Hello. What can you say about ASUS TUF GAMING VG27AQML1A
?
Samsung G8 OLED now usable with AMD Cards and HDR 1000?
For anyone looking for a take on the somehwat elusive Alienware AW2723DF, it's at 37:53
I need an Ultrawide with a KVM for mostly productivity but also a bit of gaming. Something like Dell U3824DW, can OLED be capable productivity monitors considering burn in? What else could you recommend? Needs to have at least 90w usb-c pass through
You'd be better off with a good monitor and a good separate kvm
Doesn't Gigabyte M34WQ have KVM?
I can't believe I missed this I had so many questions ! I recently bought my first monitor off you recco, endation in a vid I ordered the LG Ultragear 32GQ950-B as it had a pretty good review by you and got it at 630$ brand new which was mind blowing
I've owned that monitor for 6 months and it's amazing
Awesome 👌 good to hear can't wait for it to arrive. So lucky I got that deal, it actually ran out of stock on cyber Monday on Amazon but I was still shopping for monitors and noticed it came back in stock as if someone's payment didn't go through or canceled thier order lol I got so lucky, best deal I could have got at 52% off original retail price, I have seen it around like 899$ recently but 630$ when I saw that I knew my mind was made up for me and wasn't spending an extra couple hundred for the neo G7 at 850 at the time.
has samsung fixed the issues with G8? like peakbrightness with ams gpu?
I think you can only play with 120HZ and HDR on AMD
Came in just a bit too late, any recommendation for the best overall 1440p monitor with good out the box picture quality and refresh? Specifically for ps5 as I usually only care to play on 120hz
with a ps5 i would go with a tv
I'd say check the dell G2724D as i think it can utilize VRR for 1440p for PS5
The asus does not have hdmi2.1, for ps5 the lg oled is better. You can use vrr, and also receive 4k signal at 120hz, wich will make the image sharper than native 1440p
Anyone know compatibility of the Neo G9 49" with different games. how do especially little older games cope with the double with of this monitor. Also can you possible fit 2 standard 16:9 1440p windows on it and work like a dual monitor solution ? As it's practically about the same size as 2x 27" Monitors.
Not that a curved monitor is especially good for standard productivity stuff. Just curious if it actually can make it out for 2 monitors
In Europe the only option for 4k 144hz seems to be M28U but it is still expensive compared to America. I used my PC only for work related stuff but getting back into streaming and some gaming. I have a Ryzen 5900X and I am buying a GPU + I am assuming the M28U. The games I will be playing wont be anything crazy and I can play them on medium if need be, any GPU recommendations?
the samsung g70a has the same panel as the m28u, and i would say better response time across the VRR range with VRR on
@@CoCo.-_- Appreciate your comment! Just to clarify, the price gap is 400 euros, mainly due to the difference in size. For a more accurate comparison, the M32U comes in at 599 euros, still significantly more budget-friendly than the Odyssey Neo G7 priced at 840 euros. So my decision is still between the M28U and M32U.
M28U = 449 euro.
M32U = 599 euro.
Odyssey Neo G7 = 840 euro.
@@captaindcc I don't think it's the neo G7, it's the 28inch odyssey g70a/ s28ag700nuxxu, it came out the same year as the m28u they both use the same display panel, and usually around the same price, one can be more than the other depending on location, in the UK the g70a is something like £450 on amazon, also US prices don't include tax/vat like everywhere else, so it can seem cheaper than it really is
@@CoCo.-_- My bad, I did try and search for the g70a but couldn't find it but that is because it is not being sold in The Netherlands. After some digging I did find the Samsung Odyssey G7 G70B 28" (BG702EP) but im extremely confused now on all these samsung monitors. This one costs 440 euro's here. It is 4k and 144hz but not sure if it gets close to the g70a in performance as I can't easily compare at the moment. Again I apologize for the misunderstanding.
@@captaindcc no need to apologise buddy, just try find out if it is the same panel with a different model number, as they change model numbers for different locations aswell, it's a complete pain when they have all these monitors with such names and also have different model numbers for the same product based on location
Picked up an Alienware AW2723DF for €490. I first got the M27Q X, but it broke hours after me setting it up. After seeing there were plenty of people with a busted model, I returned it. I'm really happy with the Alienware.
Sadly mine has been glitching when GSync is active, colors flickering randomly so i'm returning mine soon.
@@SiriusFPS Ah, that sucks.
sad i missed this stream. been stuck between the Samsung Odyssey g7 (2020) and the LG 27GR83. About a 100 USD difference. I do not mind curve and the VA is intriguing, but the LG is newer and IPS, which I have used for years. UGH I really cant decide.
Seeing lots of bad reviews about Samsung one, qc issue. If you have budget, probably gonna be aroudn 1200. I would suggest wait for new 4k oled that's coming up Jan.
I am on the look out for a sub 200 euro ips high refresh rate monitor 1080p is grand there is choice but got no idea what one lol
any uwqhd ips? probably 144hz+, productivity(good color), gaming :)
If you don't mind a flat panel, I would go curved for ultrawide
MSI Optix MAG401QR
GIGABYTE M34WQ
Curved IPS is just this one that makes sense, but at this point/price I would go OLED
LG UltraGear 34GN850P-B
OLED
Dell Alienware AW3423DWF
Hello, I need help, I want to buy an LG 27 OLED or Asus monitor. I use Razer Blade 16, what is the best way to connect a monitor to have 240hz?LG has hdmi2.1, asus is brighter but has hdmi 2.0, what are the possibilities? I will be grateful for help and which monitor to choose?
I have the AW2723DF and its a very nice monitor. I got mine refurbished for like $450 and then had 10% Rakuten cash back, so a little over $400+tax for the end price.
The panel is made by LG I think (no backlight strobing). It feels pretty fast overall and seems to be according to RTINGS. It also has one of the least aggressive matte coatings (seems more semi-gloss?) and tiniest bezels I've seen on a monitor so far,
Only issue I've had is that the overclock doesn't seem stable at 280hz with my laptop, at least not using my USB-C to DP cable.
Maybe why its refurbished but I'm content with 270HZ for the price I paid since nothing else is wrong with the monitor.
I bought mine new and it's stable for me at 280 Hz
I recently got a brand new one for £320 ($400) and 280Hz works fine.
@@ProffAndy Yeah I'm sure most of them do 280 fine. Might even be my cable but I didn't want to play the lottery game of exchanging it since with my luck, I'd get one with terrible back light bleed/IPS glow or dead pixels.
Have had way too much bad luck with that kind of stuff buying monitors/TVs/laptops
Is the gygibyte m32u a great monitor for consoles
Hi i have 1660 super, r5 5600, 1080p@75Hz monitor. Which should i upgrade first, and to what at least to notice a meaningful difference? Thanks for amazing content
That really depends on what games you play. If your 1660 super can drive the games, I'd say the monitor.
What you have is kind of 1:1:1, if you want to upgrade something then check how 1440p would run on your gpu and start with the monitor imo. 1440p is getting cheaper to run nowadays
I'd say monitor first because it's the cheapest upgrade, quality fsr at 1440p is still usually superior to native 1080p. Gpu second, cpu is still relevant for the vast majority of use cases.
ROG Swift PG38UQ, why no love? Feel like everyone's ignoring it for a productivity/gaming mix.
Coolermaster GP27Q
What do you think of the Samsung odyssey g4 25in vs Alienware or asus similar ones???
Guys if anyone using LG C2/C3 connected with PS5 and when i record/Capture the game and transfer to PC or Mobile for editing the colours look washed out. When I do with 1080P no such thing happens what is the solution should I off the HDR and then record the games please suggest.
Anyone buy the MSI G274QPF NON QD from Costco during the $170 black friday sale?!
Any budget ultrawide 1440p monitor recomendation ?
Xiaomi Mi 34 still does very well
KOORUI GP01 review it please its a 24 inch 1440p Fast IPS monitor w/ HDR10+ for only 180$ or 200$ atleast in my country
don't know if you have reccomended it already, but after watching your review of the gigabyte m27q I bought it and it has honestly been the best decision!

I missed the stream. I wanted to ask if anyone who has purchased a Samsung G8 OLED recently. Do you get a horrible coil whine from the monitor? No reviews mentioned this problem

When will you go live again??
No time stamps?
its been 3 months since this video has been lived, but i want some suggestions, i own a Predator X34 the first version, 21:9 3440x1440P 100hz OC IPS Gsync, i want to upgrade to LG 27GR95QE-B, is it a good upgrade?
the resolution is a downsize to 16:9, still not all games support 100% ultrawide natively, the upgrades are OLED 240hz and HDR
by the way the price of the monitor is currently at $750 (tax included) in our country and the PG27AQDM is still at $1200
What according to you is the best budget 4k and 1440p monitor for consoles and in reasonable budget.. unable to decide what to go for😂
I have a question, what are your recommendations for a competitive player that has rtx 4090
If you've got the budget, go with any of the 240 Hz OLED monitors or one of the QD-OLED monitors. The LG 27GR95QE-B is 27", 240 hz OLED and would be excellent for competitive games. There's also the ultrawide options if you don't mind that, like the 165 hz AW3423DW QD-OLED which is a reasonable 34".
@@peterklick2385 do you have any recommendations for 300+ hz monitors?
There are just 2 options. Either the Asus ROG Swift PG27AQN (1440p 360Hz with ULMB2) or Asus ROG Swift Pro PG248QP (1080p 540Hz also with ULMB2).
1440p 240Hz OLED doesn't have enough clarity
@@GewelRealwhat are you talking about the oleds are far better then the aqn 360hz is not at all much of an improvement over 240 oled and your getting a better monitor overall for other uses you can also run 1080p on oled and see clearly like your in 4k you get better performance over all but if you want you can get the 540hz and that’s a really big advantage
_competitive player that has rtx 4090._ 0.5kHz Asus PG248QP monitor! I wonder how many years until we have a 1kHz monitor.
AOC Q24G2.
MicroLEDs. The Stop the Fomo CZcams channel report that: "uLED's for TV's are likely to be 10 years away"! The issue is printing TV sized panels with no defects. The bigger the panel the harder to get no failures.
However, for smaller sized panels it is a much easier issue as defects can be cut around.
So we might see them coming first for small high priced panels used first by the video/photography business followed by the Gaming Industry so Steam Deck 2/3 or Switch 2/3 etc.
Then as component screens in Caves/Volumes for use in Television/Movie production. Then as high end/price monitors for the video/photography business then gaming monitors & finally for TV's. As they can make consistent larger panels & thus the price goes down.
SID Display week. I sure you would live to attend SID Display Week in the US. I believe the is an Eastern Display Week as well. The issue is the cost for you to get to the USA which must be high as you don't go to CES.
How would you feel about working with another CZcams channel. Charbax has extensive contacts within SID Display Week, having attended for many years. Would you be interested in doing a CoVid with him or even Charbax producing Content with you as he has the detailed knowledge & contacts that you might not have.
An alternative would be to do a CoVid with Stop the Fomo who is working in the content about TV & Display but of CZcams.
I'm so sad I missed this stream but I was sleeping.

At the moment there is a deal in Germany for the 240hz TN HP Omen X27 for 240€. Other monitors in this price range are 144-165 Hz IPS monitors, from HP, Acer or other less well-known brands.
So Idk if i should go for the fast 240hz TN or the 165hz IPS models. I play mostly fps like Apex, CS2, COD or BF.

Damn, Just missed it. Well. If you would still answer questions.
Thinking of an upgrade to my 34 Ultrawide (Gigabytes G34WQC)
Was hedging abit on Super Ultrawides..Looking into something with OLED.
Let's say i throw money to the wind.
Im hedging between Samsungs G9 OLED 49Inch, LG's 45Inch OLED or the Alienware A3423DWF because of their great warranty.
Though in my country warranty is mandatory regardless up to 3 years from both the supplier/retailer and they will replace either the screen or the product completely.
If you want the 'premium' warranty you gotta fork over abit more but when burn in or dead pixels show up you can get it replaced/repaired for free or a product of the same price at the time of purchase.
Waiting for christmas pricing, Though im curious whats peeking in 2024 for new OLEDS
Any thoughts on this? Other people are welcome too. c:
the 2 new OLED alienware monitors that they sneak previewed and will officially announce at CES are 27 inch 360hz 1440p qd oled, and a 32 inch 4k 240hz qd oled both 16:9. I imagine those 2 panels will make it to other monitors from other from other companies as well. The g9 is already a gen 2 qd oled panel so I think that is a solid option. We may get a 34 inch 240hz qd oled gen 2 panel as well. That being said I just got a aw3423DW on sale for 799 US and am very happy with it. I debated springing for the g9 though for 200 more it might have been worth it, I just worry about 32:9 with limited support in games and also thought I might go bug eyed with a game sprawling that far across my desk.
@@PCproffesorx Ah yeah i heard about those. As much as i'd like to grab the Alienware, I'm debating to grab the G9 Oled come christmas and then next year i'll get the AW3423DWF or the newer alienware OLEDS to replace it.
Though im debating if i should hold off if maybe samsung comes out with a new OLED G9 later this 2024.
Personally i don't mind the Black bars too much
@@saltychocolate2843 Outside of gaming, for productivity the g9 would have suited me better for sure, instead of debating whether I should have a second monitor beside my aw3423DW. I have a second 1440p monitor beside it right now, but for the time being I have disconnected it to see how much I will miss having 2 monitors. Would definitely be a non issue with the g9 though. My magnus pro desk arrives tomorrow so I haven't committed to anything until I have that set up.
As for the g9 I wouldn't worry too much about that get refreshed any time soon, at least not with a meaningful upgrade as it already has the gen 2 qd oled panel in it, and the rest of samsungs qd oled monitor lineup is still on gen 1, so I think they will focus on getting the other sizes up to gen 2 panels (and maybe some new sizes) and likely wouldn't have a meaningful upgrade on the g9 until they eventually release gen 3 panels.

PS:
Using a LG 34UC88-B since early 2016 and I just love that format. My next upgrade in 2024 will be the Alienware or some similar display.
Would very much like that as well.
We obviously got two great high-end gaming options but I for example find myself in this wierd zone of being interested in 1440p ultrawide, yet am kinda paranoid of OLED for my use case while also not really caring about HDR.
But still want something that is decent for gaming in terms of response time and so on so I have no idea what to even look at.
