Sonic Frontiers: 9 Tips and Tricks To Get You Started

Sonic Frontiers is a very different type of Sonic game. Those familiar with the white-knuckle speed seen in previous titles like Sonic Adventure 2 will feel right at home, but there’s also an entire separate open-world to explore, as well. Regardless, from the jump, it’s a lot to take in all at once, so we’ve gathered what we think are the most important tips to get you ready for the newest Sonic adventure

It doesn't tell you in game, but the directional input while attacking matters. If you change directions mid combo you can stretch your combo longer before having to switch moves so you can string longer combos before you use a finisher. The direction also changes which finisher sonic uses.

I'd go for the speed challenges first. Blaze through the map as fast as you can. If you happen to notice a red ring or something else along the way just remember it for subsequent runs.

Yeah it's better if you know the layout of the level first before attempting to speedrun it, as someone who S ranked every single cyberspace level and who's spent dozens of hours speedrunning levels in Generations.

About getting rings with the cyloop, you don’t have to make a large ring to get a lot of rings, it can be small as you can make it and you won’t lose any quantity of rings gathered.

He says that the increase to your speed boost when you have max rings only works in the open world, not the cyber levels. To quickly gain rings in the open world, use the Cyloop

This game is my least favorite Sonic game. Impossible to progress. Hadn't played a sonic game since generations thought it'd be a fun of platformer , big mistake total waste of $100! Sonic was my fave never buying another sonic game after this ...it's not a sonic game
