The time an oven takes shouldn’t just be baking time, but also pre-heat time. An oven will take several minutes to preheat to 400.
Yep, my electric oven takes about 20-30 mintues to pre-heat, Air Fryer, 0 preheat time

Link getting confused at the fries is frighteningly relatable
They forgot to take into account air fryer has no preheat time whereas the oven does and depending how old your oven is could take 20 mins just to get up to temp.
Amazing that Rhett has gotten this far in the taste test genre with a partner who cannot eat turkey without bringing up his preference for ham

Also keep in mind you have pre-heat an oven so that 18 minutes turns into like 30 while the air fryer doesn't need pre-heating

I like how they didn't take oven preheat time into account. Air fryer eliminates that so the tenders were closer to like 10 minutes faster

I wonder if they cooked the food in the air fryer with the attachment tray that will make the food cook in the juices rather than draining into the bottom. I feel like that would be more comparable because they probably cooked the oven food in a pan or cookie sheet where it would cook in the juices as well.

Are you guys including the "Preheat" time in the total oven time? I know in my case, it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to preheat my oven to most temps, and then around the same time to cook most things, so in the case of those pizzas it would take twice the time you listed.

What I have learned from this video. Apparently, not all air fryers are created equal. Because I have an air fryer and I love Ore-Ida french fries and when I cook them in my air fryer they taste just like if I had fried them.
That’s not necessarily the air fryer. It’s just that you like the taste

Yep. Same. You just have to make sure to toss them every few minutes so all the fries crisp evenly. Oven fries are NASTY.
Also, I think they undercooked those fries in the air fryer. I usually go closer to 15 minutes instead of 10. If they were frozen I would imagine they didn't develop that crispyness at all.
I somehow just trust Rhett more when he judges the taste of foods.

The tricky thing is Link is overly picky but Rhett eats *everything*, so it’s hard to trust either lol
I'm the exact opposite. My mom is like rhett and eats absolutely everything and a few times shes eaten things that were spoiled so I cant trust a foodie who blindly loves everything.

air fryers are genuinely one of the best things ever invented. most frozen things don't take more than 10 mins and taste the SAME as what an oven would take 30+ mins to do, actually even better bc of the crispiness!

I bought my air fryer specifically for fries and they are much better in air fryer compared to oven!
Even the instant pot episode chose recipes that were meh... in this one, the fries appeared undercooked, the fish overcooked, and the tenders weren’t even crispy... 🧐
