100% correct. The murder rate has dropped in the city over the last 10 or so years but that's only because the population numbers have dropped. I don't ever see the neighborhoods being restored or revamped to anything because the majority of people are not going to want to come down here and live.

Your video of your drive through Detroit is interesting. Your commentary though shows your ignorance of the city and its history. Also, you continually refer to how dangerous the city it, yet if you actually looked at the stats for other big cities you would find that is not as dangerous as other cities. The speed bumps, btw were to stop young people from drag racing on city streets not to stop people from fleeing from fright. Like any major city there are great areas and bad areas. The city once had over 2 million people withing the city limits and it has less than half of that now. As a result, there is a lot of abandonment. That is changing gradually.

I grew in Detroit but live down South now. The people making this video have no clue about Detroit. They have no background in urban planning or architecture yet they seem to think their making insightful observations. No, it’s mostly uniformed gibberish. Saying Detroit has ‘Insanely high murder rates’ is also incorrect. Other cities have taken this mantle from Detroit. In one part of the video they come across a speeding driver and claim that this dangerous activity is unique to Detroit and that there racing through because the neighborhood is unsafe. How do they know this. Lastly, if you going to make a good CZcams video you should be able to edit out the constant coughing.

Detroit has great people, culture and and especially history. I don't find it amusing for people to come to the city just to insult it and make false claims. Detroit is most certainly NOT the most dangerous place in the world!! SMH!! You have to do your research especially if you are going to drag a place in the dirt. And FYI, one of the wealthiest counties in the entire United States is right there in "Metro Detroit". It's Oakland County. Yes, parts of Detroit have seen better days, but so has a lot of other cities around the country. Detroit is on the come-up!! Next time try showing your viewers some of the great arts of the city, museums, great food spots and we can't leave out the annual Woodward Dream Cruise or the River Walk. It's interesting how you did the same thing to Grand Rapids, when you were there driving in the poverty-stricken areas. GR is the 2nd largest city in the state in MI and it has tons of beautiful areas that are well-off and prosperous . All areas aren't "THE HOOD"!! Don't come for us Michiganders, we will defend "our territory" like true Spartans and Wolverines!!! 😛

The speed bumps are not due to people driving out of fear of the evil at night, they are what neighborhoods were demanding because of drag racing and wild driving by mainly young people throughout many communities. The area you were at before entering Grosse Point was one of the oldest parts of the city, those homes were built between the early 1900s and 20s...all the vacant lots were mowed and the streets clean...that should have been mentioned. Detroit is as safe as any other urban industrial city, with enclaves of violence in certain places...Know your surroundings don't venture into areas at night that are not well lit and off the main populated locations..the areas you called sketchy and unsafe I saw white people walking biking and hanging out with a horse and buggy...what about that?

The only article I found during a quick google search (looked at four different articles) that listed Detroit as the most dangerous city in the U.S. in 2023 kept citing information from 2018, as if 4-5 year old information on crime statistics is indicative of what Detroit is like today. I've been to Detroit, and as someone who used to be scared of it, it's a great city. I felt safe walking around it. Just like any other city of its size or larger, it has its problem areas, but the city as a whole is not nearly as bad as it used to be, even just 5 years ago. Might want to do some research next time you try to claim a city is the most dangerous.

First of all I guessed that you would show the real streets of Detroit, and not once get out of the car. Detroit is a dangerous city. Has been from the start. Every city is dangerous, thats a city. Yet I could take you some where in Michigan just a short car ride and show you a town that is as dangerous as anything in Detroit. As for Detroit, its a serious city. Its slugging rats and clawing its way back. It will get there. Matter of fact, looking around at other major city, their all in decline. I think here in Detroit, we are ahead of the game.

Cause like as you came in the city down 96 instead of Grand River could have pointed out the intersection where "8 mile" filmed the scene where the kid shoots himself trying to put away the gun. As you drove down Mich Ave near old Tiger Stadium if you turned right and went into those hoods you would have seen the cleanest prettiest neighborhoods in Detroit IMHO. So much you missed by really not knowing where you are. Now I live in So Fla but crime and violence didn't drive me away. The cold weather did.

Tijuana is the murder capital of the world.. Chicago is the murder capital of the US for 12 years in a row now. You talking about Detroit like you have been here all your life is irritating . You googling Detroit does not make you a expert on the cities history or how it is here. There is speed bumps in the roads due to drag racing. The abandonment is from how the place was ran in government , not due to fear. Detroit used to be called "Paris of The Midwest"..You should really do research before you make statements about things. Your giving people the wrong idea.

I live here. Detroit is not even among the top twenty most dangerous cities in the world. The top 6 are all in Mexico. St. Louis and Baltimore make the top 20, all the rest are in other countries. Like all cities in the midwest where the primary industries were manufacturing, there are large areas where factory workers once lived that have been abandoned -- ever been to Cleveland? But Detroit has some beautiful residential areas too, which none of these "poverty porn" videos ever seem to visit.

My impressions from what I've read of the city and seen in videos is that sure there is crime there but what major city globally doesn't suffer the same problems? You just have to use your common sense when out and about, that is all. My home city of Southampton is none too safe at times, I can say... Additionally, Detroit appears to have a lovely and vibrant downtown area and a literal.plethora of tree lined suburbs - so not all bad, surely!😅
