    Hey Bobby awesome job, I’m a union journeyman formsetter finisher down here in Southern California and just like you a battle a drug and alcohol addiction every week, and day, I can tell you are one of the best concrete finishers that I seen just by the passion and knowledge you share, you deserve a lot more subscribers and views but I know you’ll get there. Thanks for the videos. Look forward to the next one.

      @pddaniels965 Před 2 lety +2

      I haven't tried stencil yet, but it's high on my list to do. Probably have to do it at home because it's a hard sell in my area. Broom finish wins 9/10 because of its price compared to other finishes but I'll take exposed or a swirl finish over stamped any day of the week

    • @GRUBB-MUDD
      @GRUBB-MUDD  Před 2 lety +1

      I like to try stuff at my house 1st, but I pretty much only do broom finished here, I turn down stamp. We do some stamp borders, but I'm not an gona kill myself either, I am good at it, I do like EZTIQUE though! I got that secret mix design for those lurncrete retaining walls!

    In terms of using fibre in exposed, I’ve done it a few times on commercial driveways, and it wasn’t a problem. We used stealth fibre which is less visible. The only issue would be where the fibre isn’t properly mixed or has clumped together

      yo, man. i dont hold grudges,, i need to apologize, i shouldnt have called you a lil punk. u asked who do i make concrete for, i will tell you i make content 4 who ever needs to hear it. weither its to get a good laugh off of a short, or to an addict that is struggling, or to a concrete guy that has a question. its kinda funny though i even explained all this in this video right here that i found your comment on. i reached out to a hisapnic person that i respect alot another youtuber from California. im not saying im going to delete the video because he is on live right now. i will say this just as i did b4 i meant no malice or disrespect by it and thats why i took offense to the word wigger so much. but im over it. i dont hold grudges. 1 thing though is i have made it clear that i make 2 different kinds of videos funny short concrete videos and long form concrete videos. to some1 that has never been through addiction its hard to understand but i would rather help an addict out all day everyday then make a concrete video. i tie the 2 in types in because there are addicts that watch my channel just as i have stated many of times. anyways im.not asking 4 an appology a subscribe or even a response. im just clearing my side if the street. thats my responsibility. agian i got out of character. my channel is not just a concrete channel as i said in this video that is playing right here. i dive deep into the lifestyle of a concrete finisher and the things that some of us have gone through. my channel is more of a life experience channel. btw im.not going to blast u in a video either. i am going to address all this hate though. be safe and have a good week. tha ks for all the views and comments in the past. i always liked hearing from u. but again just cuz i do t run my channel like the other concrete guys doesnt mean its wrong or bad. i would take helping an addict everyday over teaching any1 anythi g about concrete. peace and i mean that

    I find that the chemicals (retardants) are a bit pricy so I prefer to use molasses diluted with water (the sugar is what eats the Portland cement) to expose the aggregate and it’s way cheaper just don’t let it puddle or leave it on to long usually about 10-12 minutes and then I just use a garden hose not a pressure washer and I do it the same day when the concrete is hard enough to walk on without leaving imprints from your feet. No plastic required 😬 also for radius forms I prefer 3/4 plywood then set the depth of my saw to score the backside of the plywood leaving the last 2 layers uncut so it doesn’t break that way you don’t have that little “step” where the Masonite meets the form if it’s a super tight radius I just double up the Masonite and soak it with form oil to get the right radius without breaking. Nice steps thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼 p.s. it is possible to patch exposed aggregate even colored exposed aggregate but it’s time consuming and extremely tedious but if you have the patience and eye it’s no problem (I’d explain it but I’m already giving you to many secrets and the concrete police might make me disappear 😳😂😂😂

I assume it is by volume. How do you find cement powder that doesn't already have sand and gravel in it? What kind of sand do you use? Coarse sand or playground sand or leveling sand or does it matter? And it seems like pea gravel is very hard to come by these days; the basic hardware stores don't seem to have it.
