  • Assassin's Creed Mirage - Basim Finds Out The Truth [ENDING]
In this my new video of Assassin's Creed Mirage you can see the ending cutscene of the new game from Ubisoft.
This Assassin's Creed Mirage video was recorded, played and edited completely by me, the video is taken from the PS5 version of the game, I thank Ubisoft for providing me with a review copy of the game.
I remind you that Assassin's Creed Mirage is available from 5 October 2023 for Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
In AC Mirage we retrace the origins of Basim Ibn Ishaq, a character introduced with Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and who we discover is the reincarnation of Isu Loki.
In this video you can see the final part of the game's story mode, which ends with the boss fight against Roshan and with Basim discovering the truth about his past and his recurring nightmares.
In this Assassin's Creed Mirage final scene we also discover that Nehal never really existed and that it is a memory of Loki.

People arent getting this. Nehal is to Basim what Odin was to Eivor. Nehal IS Loki, its his original Isu soul, but obviously he changed his face and became "Nehal" so Basim didnt realize he was talking to himself lol. Basim may be his reincarnation, but Loki still had to find a way to free his soul and trick Basim into accepting it into himself so Loki could take control.
Where Odin tried to forcibly take control of Eivor (and ultimately failed), Loki took a different approach; they pretended to be Basims friend to gain his trust then trick him into releasing their soul, very much like the Loki of Norse mythology. It doesnt take a genius to figure this out folks lol.

Ezio, Altair and Desmond were the only ones who got proper endings, while still continuing the overall story in a fine manner. Both Altair and Ezio knew someone else would pick up were they left of, Altair died in the vault by his own blade, while Ezio knew Desmond was watching and concluded that he has fullfiled his role and duty to his family's legacy and thus decided to live for himself and walked away to his happy ending.
Desmond then concluded his arch that was built over 4 games and chose to die for the future of humanity.

I’ve seen a lot of people with mixed feelings about this ending, completely understandably bear in mind, however I think there are a couple of important things that people are missing.
    1) Basin’s story started in Valhalla, and whatever your thoughts on that game, and this game serves to tell the origin. In a way, this game always had to end with the Loki reveal due to it being such a massive part of his character. We all knew they would address it, if they hadn’t it would’ve been very strange.
This game addresses how sages work in universe, but unfortunately banks on whether the player actually likes the concept of sages outside of Aita like the Norse sages that were introduced in Valhalla.
    2) The role of the order of ancients and the Templar orders are very different. This isn’t helped by the games in though as Ubisoft like to treat them mechanically as the same thing. However Valhalla separated them from each other, the Templar order being what came after the dissolution of the order of ancients due to Aelfreds hatred for their worshipping of the isu and what they left behind.
The Templar’s seek control of the world under a single banner, whereas the order use their control and status towards their ends.
(Another thing I’d like to add that’s unrelated is when Nur says “revenge is not our way” when the entire creed was formed by two who were consumed by vengeance, which you could either interpret as the irony of the creed or the point of it, being to let go and commit to something greater than yourself).
There I closed the damned bracket😂

What a lot of people are getting wrong is that sages are reincarnations of isu people. And when sages memories come back they aren’t like separate people but memories that are slowing returning. For example it’ll be like if you had amnesia and then someone tells you about your old life and the memories start coming back. People think it’s another person taking over when in reality it’s just the old you’s memories returning and it’s up to the sages to do what they want with said memories. Basim accepted Loki and let his old memories decide what he will do. Basim is still basim just a little different.

Eivor fighting with Odin is for me only in her imagination. Its an internal struggle, a fight against herself. Against old memories. You cant see in peoples minds. So Ubisoft decided to show it that way. Same with Nehal and Basim. Roshan told Basim not to enter the room because he has a choice to choose who he wants to be (in this new life) but Basim lived in the past, the whole game. A trauma he got from Odins torture.
Odin and Nehal are memories of Eivor and Basim who want to be accepted. First Eivor didnt want to know anything about what happens in the past. Later at the End of Valhalla, she accepted it a little bit. She remembers Ragnarok but has no words to describe it exactly. The talking between two "persons" is in my opinion a metaphor.

No matter how hard he'll try to resist the jinns in his nightmares, it will grow much more worse, it's like they're prompting Basim to take his revenge on Odin as soon as he can, they are trying to fill him up with that anger and vengeance because of what his tormentors had done to his Isu counterpart, cus' that is what Loki was planning to do.

@@rjbruh1614 Yes !Basim wholeheartedly embraced his inner self, a decision often misunderstood when people claim Loki took control. It's not about dominance; it's about self-realization. One cannot truly become themselves while neglecting a part of who they are. Eivor, in the final chapter of AC Valhalla, exemplified this by acknowledging her Odin side instead of running from it.
Basim chose to embrace his Loki side because he saw its suffering and found purpose within it his purpose. In contrast, Roshan upon Basim's joining the hidden Ones, aimed to bury his past, but Basim sought to uncover his own history, yearning for completeness.
In summary the key difference between Basim and Eivor lies in the pace of their self-discovery. Basim embraced his Loki side more swiftly, just as Eivor eventually embraced her Odin side Later on . It's crucial to note that no one is taking over anyone's memories; it's a balanced 50- 50 proposition
One can either ignore or accept their other side, without coercion.
In Basim's case, he saw the brokenness in his Loki side and chose to embrace it
I cannot simplify it further than this....

Roshan tried to control Basim and she was right, Basim did lose himself. He is free from the pain and struggle, but he is no longer free in the sense of choices, it's like he gave himself up because he was constantly tricked and tortured to say yes to Loki all the damn time so no more nightmares and confusion, but he unleashed Loki to the new world (which can mean Valhalla storyline and/or the present day)

Given that he never says his name, i felt that the game "assumes" you've played Valhalla and that was a letdown. I really would have liked them to delve deeper into the Loki persona as the Djinn, the djinn could have had conversations with Basim etc instead of just lerking in the shadows. The Djinn could still have been presented as horrifying for Basim but they could have given us more information through out the game.
I also felt that the masked Order members were unmasked and they were just some random guys we haven't met at all prior to that point. It would definatly have been better if atleast ONE of them had been someone Basim met during the game and had some encounters with? Hell, even someone who, prior to their reveal as a member, had some ideological disputes with Basim.
Not to mention the lack of what used to be the other half of the game (the present), i mean we have Basim as the main character now, why not give us anything more of him in the present after Valhalla? They could have made us play as William Miles and have some scenes with Basim in the present, making vauge comments regarding Nehal etc (SPOILERS: also making her a Tyler Durden manifestation of Loki was a brilliant nod to Loki being genderfluid in the norse mythology :P).
Anyways, overall i liked the game. These smaller, more character driven stories are nice and fun. I do like the Origins/odyssey/Valhalla era but i also loved the older games more character driven story arch.

Well. Nehal is likely a split personality of Loki’s containing his memories and all the torment, pushed aside from the infants mind as it would not of been able to comprehend it… her appearing is something known as the tulpa phenomenon… the empty man movie is a good example, while similar it has heavy differences. Basim was always Loki, just with amnesia more or less. And before you say he doesn’t use Loki anymore, names don’t really matter all that much, to some I get it, they do. Yet that’s people placing their whole persona to that name. As to the eagle’s disagreement…. That is a thing, it’s a very sad thing when a pet can’t recognize their owner.. but it is a thing.
Now as for the cage, he was never really contained in their, as with Eivor and the others, they used the machine to transition beyond whatever chains that held them to the plan so they could be resurrect. Let’s see what comes next.

Eivor's situation is different. Though Eivor is the reincarnation of the Isu Odin, Eivor doesn't suffer from any nightmares until Eivor and Sigurd reached that point where Odin forces Eivor to stay in Valhalla (which could mean he wants Eivor to have his memories), but Eivor refused because she/he (Depending which gender of Eivor you choose) know what kind of god Odin is, and realizing Valhalla was just a simulation made by the Isu, and refused to be his pawn, and Eivor chose her friends and family instead

the modern day stopped being good after ac1.
ac1 was the only one that did it right, it had mystery, it was woven into the story perfectly, and it had you questioning what was going on and why they needed desmond.
ac2 onwards, it was just thrown in there cause "oh well ac1 had that, so we have to do it too." nolan north said the og plan was to have desmond become the best assassin of all time with him learning abilities with each game. that would have been so cool and would have gave the modern day story a purpose, but they just dropped that with ac2 and he was just a normal basic assassin after that and did the cliche "save the world stuff."
plus with ac2 onwards, the modern day just gets in the way of the good story which is the stuff in the past, like ac3 for example, when haytham is revealed to be a templar, instead of having the scene cut to black and let you process it, desmond just says "wAiT, WhAt?!!!!!!!!!" and it cuts back to the modern day story which just ruins the moement, same with black flag, it cuts to the modern day like all the time.
they may as well remove it now cause all modern day is good for is getting in the way. ac mirage and freedom cry did modern day best cause in mirage it is only in a 30 second cutscene at the start and freedom cry has 0 modern day.
i do not hate the concept of modern day, and in the case of ac1 i did like it, but after ac1 it's just a annoyance than a good story.

The “ibn La Ahad” title doesn’t mean they’re related. “Ibn La” is actually a misconstrued version of the Arabic surname “Bin”.
For example, 0$sama Bin L4d€n is named that because his grandfather is named Laden. If Altair’s father never passed away, Altair would be “Altair Bin Umar”. Roshan is referred to as “Bint La Ahad”, and Bint is simply used for females.

    • @mru3442
      @mru3442 Před 4 měsíci +1

Ibn just means son of... and since Altair was an Orphan he is son of no one (ibn la ahad). Roshan was probably orphan or rejected her parents. They are not related.

Honestly Valhalla had more character development for Basim than mirage did. There really wasn’t any point storywise for mirage as Basim inevitably became Loki so his story became irrelevant unlike Eivor’s (for example) who rejected Odin. Mirage would have been better if the main character was Hytam, and he experienced Basim’s transformation into Loki.
