Denzel Washington returns to one of his signature roles in the first sequel of his career. Robert McCall serves an unflinching justice for the exploited and oppressed - but how far will he go when that is someone he loves?

“I’m your father….your momma just didn’t tell you!” 😂
I love Denzel!
i am the real bumblee you will die.....like i did because i am made from techparts........but i am b127 you are?
That's one thing I've always liked about the Equalizer movies (and yes, a lot of Denzel movies), our protagonist isn't just some cardboard cutout of a mysterious badass, he's skilled with both his guns and his words so, like here, he'll roast you in front of the boys before sitting your ass down the hard way AND he'll give your mom a call afterwards to celebrate kicking your ass
"Man ain't spelled G-U-N"... that's such a good line
"Let's find out together" is such a beautiful statement, and it puts that perfect pressure to say "don't disappoint me" in a positive way.
I don't think it was a, "Do not disappoint me" context, though there is a degree of wanting to have pride in this young man using the chance he has in life than to be gutter trash.
The young man sees no value or worth in his life. No way out of a bad situation without taking even worse actions to survive. "Why me?" Is answered immediately by the, "Why not you?" With zero hesitation. Why not you? What is it about you that makes you unworthy of a shot at a better life? You have talent. You have a dream. You have a chance. Why not you? The young man is taken aback by the rebuttal because for the first time he has someone saying he is worthy of better, why shouldn't he be, and yet it has never been a thought in his mind so he can do nothing more than repeat the question. Instead of giving him a direct answer, Mr McCall offers to find out together, to help him along a path the kid never thought available to him.
@@RazielTheUnborn that was a much longer set of words to describe what I said, but yes. Haha
So many young men of ALL colors need a man like this in their lives
Yes
Why does everyone in american films differentiate between colors. Where I grow up there was no real difference und therefore no question.
Sad that you must say that expizit.
the world needs to antistupid not anti white brown black blue or orange. stupidity is the problem.
@@darkkennny1 where did you grow up? because i highly doubt white supremacy wasnt a thing in your country, you may not have noticed it but its there
@@tieflingcorpse9817 Tell me you're American/woke without telling me lmao. We're not talking about individual cases you can look up behind your desk like the internet warrior that you are, by and large a lot of western countries don't give as much of a shit about race as Americans do in this day and age. And even when they do, its not "white supremacy", that's mostly an American thing which in current day and age is being used by woke lefties to justify racism against white people themselves, people just call it racism because the non morons under us understand that you don't need to be white to be a racist pos like you.
Next time when you try to address racism in countries you have no clue of, try not to point fingers at a specific race under the guise of an extremely small far right group and attempt to brainwash people thinking that they are the only problem in the whole spectrum completely ignoring the fact you're justifying racism yourself by doing that. People outside of America aren't that stupid to buy into it. No, in many western countries it wasn't a thing and hasn't been a thing for over 50 years.
"But why me?" "Why not you?" That part makes me want to cry. I've been helped by so many people in my life, I've struggled so much, and I always find myself asking myself "Why me? What did I do to deserve this persons help or love?" Maybe I need to start asking why not me. Maybe we all need to start asking ourselves that. Why not you? You've got air in your lungs, that's why. You're alive, you're a human being, and because of that you have inherent worth. So why not you?
It wasn't just that though, at the end notice how he said why not you? Let's find out together. You don't deserve your blessings but there's a reason you got them. Try to do right by them, it's a call to action
Word!!!
Everyone needs some kind of help, whether it's time to time or a more permanent thing. I have learnt the hard way that people generally care and said no. Instead of thinking of the "why you?" maybe take some solace in the fact that so many people gave enough of a shit about you. Loreal mate, you're worth it
“You gotta chance, use it while you still alive, make a decision” Best sentence in life ever!
When he said why not you, it brought tears to my eyes
how quickly he said it catches me off guard, he knew the answer before he knew what the question was.
That's hilarious.
That's something so many of the youth need 2 hear. Hell I needed 2 hear it
@@thelastofteh8528"he knows things before you do"
I was at my darkest moment while watching this movie on cinema. Despair!
And I could feel Denzel yelling at my face, _"You got choice. You got talent. Use it while you're still alive. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT _*_DEATH_*_ IS."_
I'd tears in my eyes.
Meh who takes this solid and who pisses it off as a joke ... I'm 40yrs old & cool to talk I've seen mad days :P
Don't waste those tears, press forward & seize the opportunities that will come.
Keep your head up. At 18, I was waking up in Southern Afghanistan to a loud voice yelling "Incoming", followed by Mortor rounds.
Take it from me... live every second like it's your last. You can be anything you want to be.
Swear
and when you think why me? remember why not.
you only get from this world what you put into it.
IM YOUR FATHER YOUR MOTHER JUST DIDNT TELL YOU 😂
What a powerful scene, and the kid's reactions and thinking throughout are all believable. "But why me?" is amazing...
That line hits damn hard the second time he says it. Then to think of all the people out there not thinking they are worthy of a chance really starts to sink in.
@@matthewrowell8518yeah i felt that especially as he was tearing up,..he didnt think he was worthy of a "good" life and couldnt see his own potential or why denze wouldl want to help him
One of the greatest actor, every scene is like real life, legend Denzel Washington.
For sure, but also, shout out to Ashton Sanders (Miles) he put a lot of emotion into that scene, with Denzel's help of course.
totally like real life...
Yeah, you know just the other day I walked into an apartment complex and violently assaulted an entire gang single handedly starting at the bottom floor and working my way up to find the young man I am a surrogate father to. Then had a 3 minute argument in that same complex while the gang just completely fades from existence I guess.
@@TheNitroG1 If I'm a gangster and some older dude just casually beats the shit out of the.... what, 3? people between me and the outside world, silently, with not a scratch on him, and he walks into the room full of my armed thugs and casually and calmly holds us at gunpoint with the same stress level as a man doing his laundry, you bet your ass I'm not gonna go looking for him or Miles after. That is an entire MO that screams "Do not fuck with".
A true legend.
"why me?"
"why not you?"
That shit hits hard. It's so easy to feel like your future is inescapable, and that's the shit that sucks. It IS easy to feel that way. It's easy to tell yourself this shit sucks and you're gonna do anything you can to win, but at the end of the day or maybe your life, you'll have to look inside and you'll see that even if you have to fight to live and work 3 jobs to provide for the ones you love, that's a million times better than taking that easy route. Because that easy route sees you all alone and barely human, when you can give your future your all and have to bust your ass because every moment you avoided that lonely existence is a win forever.
“You don’t know what death is” hit hard!!!
Denzel as Robert McCall is everyone's dad that they never had.
... funny that ... i don´t think he and his deceased wife had kids, did they?
@@MrTBSC , I don't mean literally. He's like a god-father, you dumb sensor. If someone called you bro, does that mean he is your actual brother?
This is the Oscar scene. Denzel's speech, his emotions, always make me tear up.
I genuinely believe that Denzel isn’t acting here, really feels like he’s crying out to the current generation jumped up with this kill or be killed lifestyle. Incredible actor.
I agree, I randomly watched this and found myself in tears. Im white, middle class and have everything I need. But I felt every word .
the man is a legend there will never be another one like denzel. we love him.
I want an after credits scene where Denzel is having a drink and John Wick sits down next to him and orders a drink. Mr. Mccall doesn't acknowledge the blood or ruffled look of Mr Wick's suit, and just says "Mr Wick."
John Wick says: "Mr. Mccall."
Mutual respect. And scene.
That would be awesome!
Damn, I'd be all-in for that universe / cross-over.
@@flickmybiscuit Movies don't do that anymore. I went through some 80s movies and the genre adversities were very good together in most cases.
I'm the kind of person I like to see men or women in movies with their star parents. Or even Clint Eastwood with Charlie Sheen. It makes for comedic chemistry with the actors. Some have said they'd never work with certain ppl again.
DUUUUUDE!!!! This is AWESOME!!!! MUST HAPPEN!!!
Honestly they both need to pay respect to Jason Bourne who made this type of movie possible.
Gets me everytime this scene, denzels acting is unmatched.
this randomly popped up on my feed. I've heard of the movie, but never seen it. Going to have to now. Denzel is an absolute genius at his craft. The emotion and drama in this scene was amazing
I'm your father only your mama forgot to tell you. Love it.
When he said, "You don't know what death is," I felt that! Great actor!
When Denzel said “you ain’t no equalizer”, I got chills.
far out i gotta give the youngun some credit too...he was really good in the scene....much respect to him
Love Denzel. One of the few people with power who pushes good messages onto young black men. Instead of feeding into the idea that they’re held back and they have no chance, he tells them that they do. He reassures them that they’re just as talented and capable as every other person.
👍
Not Just young black men but all men of color in general.
You can tell that the emotions Denzels charatcer shows here are as much a part of Denzels own. He has talked about it multiple times in interviews and speeches, how he despises black on black violence and this gangsta/criminal culture, that it saddens him how young kids ruin their lives with it.
This scene remembered me so much about my grandfather teachings and the way he taught things to me, back then as a kid I used to think he didn't love me, but now I fully understand everything he did FOR me and I am thankful.
This scene right here is the definition of TOUGH LOVE!!!
Need some more context because the line between abuse and "tough love" is thin. We justify the things done to us by people we love even when it may not be right.
@@seanklinski8816no the line is not thin. Anyone who participates in raising you, has to guide you into the future, my grandmother was the same way. You aren’t allowed to classify tough love as abuse, you’re speaking of neglect, lessons sometimes can only be learned in the most difficult ways, it makes you pay attention and in the end, you become a better person for the past lessons. You seem lost
one of the best line's I've EVER heard "Man Ain't Spelled GUN" and 2nd Line " I 'd want to hear about your environment & all that Mess" One of the BEST Line's I've Ever Heard
I'm your father your mama just didn't tell you.
I've seen a lot of interviews, and candid moments of Denzel, and I feel like he used this scene to talk to a whole lot more people than just that one. To say what needs to be said.
Deep scene....carries a whole lot of meaning, and words young Men and women need to hear. We Love you guys, don't waste your life, or your gifts.🙏
Hearing the words "you dont know what death is" hits hard. Ive seen it all, done it all and experience what very few have experienced and I would NEVER wish it on my worst enemy of what I have went through. Death is quick and swift. Small arms fire, Indirect fires, IED's and Car bombs. seen my fellow brothers and sisters fall and had to make Angel flights to send them home. I live with that every day. Every time I see this movie and he utter them words. Its haunting.
Thank you for your service!
youre roleplaying as an army guy lmao

Even in a action movie Denzel need that Oscar
this scene is why this is best movie out the series to me
Absolute beast of an actor, Denzel brings all the emotion to a role, one of my favourite actors.
Exactly
Such a powerful scene. And Denzel is such an incredible actor.
" I'm your father , your mama just didn't tell you "
Damn brutal
Best actor ever. So many good lines he must come up with them himself.
Man ain’t spelled G-U-N…..truth
Denzel is always fantastic, the other guy is more than holding his own in the entire movie which is great and impressive (especially this scene)
Great movie. I’ve always been a Denzel Washington fan. But, in his next Equalizer movie, I want to see a nemesis as good as he is in the final fight scene!
great acting.. awesome
the "who the fuck was that" was real asf
This movie has some badass writing and Denzel to make it shine.
I love Denzel movies. He always helps the downtrodden…👍🏽
The only actor that gives me chills when he acts. I don't even know if I call it acting.
You don't know what death is damn that gave me chills
this is chilling...wow...when Denzels at work everyone stops to watch...
Gets me everytime this scene, denzels acting is unmatched.. Such a powerful scene. And Denzel is such an incredible actor..
I need a guy like this when Im playing video games the day before an exam.
I love his sincerity. It makes his movies so real.
This is such a pivotable moment in the movie but this thinking and this speech can be used for EVERY tough moment in life for the real world
One of the best scenes of one of the greatest actors to ever live
Er ist ein absoluter ausgezeichneter Schauspieler und kann alles so gut präsentieren ❤😊
My grandfather was a soldier his whole life . He lost count of how many people he killed He used to tell me that all these people out here think that they're killers I'm a killer I've ended more lives and I'd love to admit and I did it because I had to put food on my table but every time I look at what I put on the table I'm disgusted because I know that the money that I used to put it on That table was another man's blood. Being a killer is nothing to be proud of worst thing you ever did with his life but it was the only thing he was good at when he finally passed away And he just said goodbye
Deyeam bro
After watching The Equalizer 3 last night, I appreciate the first two even more. I missed these kinds of powerful scenes in the third movie.
Hands down two of my favourite Denzel movies. Plus De Ja Vous. Three masterpieces :)
Mr. Denzel Washington, what a man. I wish I had a father figure like him. What. A. Man! Without a doubt, he is the best actor ever and the most real person at the same time. #Respect
Love Denzel... Such a great scene.
Denzel - Such intensity and authority ! Balls of steel
Good line. “You got no idea what death is”
This should be used for master studies in acting classes. Denzel is a legend.
2:07 best line ever!
Inspiration gets me all teary eyed
Love how one of the best actors of our time always has a motivational scene like that in all of his movies
Denzel is one ofthe greatest actors of all time, he plays so well it feels almost natural!
god this is such a masterpiece
Such a powerful scene, this is the only language the misguided lad understands, tough love they call it.
Absolute RAW TALENT!
I love Denzel's dad talks.
Some of his best acting ever.
Denzel is absolute top-tier in everything he does

I don’t know if it was done on purpose or not, probably, but I’ve always loved this little detail of the door Denzel opens is full of beaming radiant light and the staircase behind Miles is just dimly lit. It’s like the physical representation of “here’s what your future CAN BE, just choose”.
Denzel makes the greatest movies!
How much you wanna bet some of that was Denzel just ad-libbing wisdom like it was nothing. Dude is too fucking talented man 👏👏👏
Classic , a couple of my moves all up in here!
I love this scene, it's epic.
I feel like either this scene was unplanned with the way he kept saying I don’t know or he is just a really good actor
This is what a good script, good direction and good actors can present......
Denzel, as always , like all good actors, Pick a part, that somewhat , socially , has providence.,....
this is the father figure many lost young souls need
Can't wait to see part 3 man
That´s why we love Denzel. The perfect Daddy.
Cold Reality........is, Denzel was talking to the youth of today.
Sure is
Absolutely!
That's why we need a father growing up too. A mother can give you love and warmth, but can never give you perspective in a way like that.
Denzel will forever be that dude , his ass kicking is top notch , I want to see him and john wick in a movie together 🤯🤯 imagine the amount off ass they would kick lol
Goosebumps all the time 😍
Legend.
Love this scene xx, makes me cry :D
Awesome scene.
Everybody is a hero to somebody❤ make a difference in the world you want to see
Love Denzel.
Great Scene! Wow!
Both actors are great 👏
That Denzal is FUKN SMOOOOOTH!I knew he was gonna light it up when i saw Carbon Copy a 100 years ago!!
One of my favorite characters in any movie
Denzel is the man!
Man this scene alone can make a grow man cry and young men a lesson!
I love Denzel.
kid's a really good actor.
Tremendous acting.
You have no idea what death is !!!! That hits so hard man 😢
After watching the first film, i couldn't help but compare Washington's character to Batman (save the obvious differences)
Always keeps his cool. Always a step ahead. Always fights for justice.
A true dark knight ...in every sense of the word.
After watching this scene, and definitely after seeing the end of the film, the idea was further cemented with the birth of the another in my mind: that this kid could potentially become a "Robin" to McCall's "Batman"
I highly doubt that's the direction that this franchise is going to go with this character, IF they decide to go anywhere at all with him
...BUT GODDAMN IT I'd be lying if i said I didn't kinda want that to happen with this kid's character.
"Yeah, I can draw. Draw my G-U-N!"
Yes, I'm aware that in a way it wouldn't make sense, but i don't care - all the pieces are in place!
I could see Jason Todd doing this for somebody.
Powerful scene
