    But I have a question ... I know it should be either frozen or coming right out of the fridge .. But will American buttercream be good to go with all of this flipping and turning method .. especially the last flip where I've got to use my hands .. or will it be damaged ???

      Hi Sue! I bought mine from a shop in Malaysia while I was overseas, but you can find very similar ones on Amazon! Just type in steel cakes scraper and heaps should pop up :)

    I recently tried this cake with other method which was kind a messy and tricky....now I feel guilty if I had tried top forward cake after u upload this cake tutorial...😑😑....Any ways one more time gonna try this cake using this cake method.       Thank you! You can do it with whipping cream but you would need to use a different method as whipped cream will not set firmly in the fridge :)

      Hi there! :) I purchase the flowers from a store here in Auckland (New Zealand) called Look Sharp. They're great quality and cheap. If you live outside of NZ then I'm not quite sure where else you may be able to find them sorry!

    Hi, I have actually used American buttercream and the scraped the edges after putting in the fridge for 20 minutes. If u leave it in the fridge about an hour, the ABC becomes wayyy too hard to scrape.

      Ohhh good to know! Yeah I think with the American buttercream you can't leave it in the fridge as long as an SMBC if you're going to scrape it again :)

      Hiya! Unfortunately you wont be able to use whipped cream with the method shown in this video, but if you cut out the shape of the cake first and then just ice it with whipped cream then it should be okay :)

      Hi Esha! You may be able to as long as the whipping cream isn't too soft. If it doesn't set firmly then the baking paper method I used in this video may not work. Instead you would just want to ice the cake as normal, let it firm up in the fridge, then cut a portion of it off, flip it over then ice the exposed side of the cake while it is already in the upright position. Hope that made sense! :)

    Can you please give us a tutorial for how much buttercream is needed for completely covering a layer cake??? Every time I decorate a cake it's a huge hassle for me. That's why please please please help me regarding that.

      Hi there! Ahh yes this can be a bit of a tricky one, especially when different icing recipes use different quantities of ingredients. I don't have a straight answer atm apart from looking at the yield amount which should be stated in the recipe. But will have a think and keep this in mind for future videos :)

But if you can just mention once in your video that how much buttercream frosting you're taking for example the double or triple of your given recipes then it would have been a great help.     What is the method of whipping cream?

      Hi Naz! For whipping cream you would simply frost the cake as normal, then cut the bottom off, flip the cake over and then ice the exposed side :) also remember to refrigerate in between steps if the cream is becoming too soft :)

      Hi there! It could be left out for quite a while, at least a few hours. However if the weather is really humid then it might be best to place it in the fridge and pull it our right before your event :)

      You'll have to keep the A/C on in your car and make sure the cake is covered and not exposed to direct sunlight :)
