    Ah, yes, the horniest class.
    "David, you said this about the Farmers."
    And I'll say it about the soldiers too!

    Just a little bit of flavour correction here: "Freshwater" fischervolk are those communities of them who live inland, but still practice their traditional faith. Deep lakes in Himmilgard can also apparently be home to abyssal gods. Fischervolk who straight up aren't members of their faith (usually because they grew up around inlanders or surrounded by inlander traditions instead) are instead called apostates, because of course even the nice eldritch cult isn't nice all the time to everyone.

    Like The Shadow over Innsmouth, but instead of Father Dagon it's Cool Uncle Dagon.

      Grand pappy dagon and grandmother hydra who just want the best for their grandkids. and if you are some massive asshole trying to exterminate their favorites, they will go all mega fish-man kaiju on your ass. with eldrich magic instead of atomic breath. because pissing off grand pappy is bad.

    I just love the subversion of the classic tropey aspects of cults while still maintaining these tropey aspects of cults, feels very fresh (out of the water)

      I mean one of the art pieces literally show the aftermath of a bondage threesome betweet two Fischervolk and a Wildleute (specifically a catgirl, the one flying the Antifa plane in the very first art piece in the book), with the latter smoking a cigarette while her partners snooze, ropes still attached to the bedframe.
      It is unapologetically horny.

    This is great! I always felt there should be at least some benevolent deeps ones in fantasy TTRPGs. Alien, and unknowable, but well meaning. Especially considering Lovecraft's, uh... "inspiration" for many of his stories.

    • @Motleydoll123
      @Motleydoll123 Před 2 lety +2

      i mean, at least one community of non-evil mythos like cultists could exist in some settings. a fun location idea is like innsmouths splinter cousin, where a bunch of people decended from one old powerful acended deep one hybrid hero elder try to help others and do mother proud. and if they get in major trouble, great grandmother comes up from the deep as a giant kaiju like deep one comes up with some of her children to help the humans and her decendants defend themselves from the horror. you could have something else similar that fits the niche of "mythos beings that are not that bad really", but i am sure that some fishers heretics might exist who worship less benevolent gods of the deep.

      The novel also makes clear, that the Dark Sea is so lethal and hungry, pulling fishermen to their deaths, not because it is evil but because it genuinely is kind and caring and want to embrace people, its just that the Elder Gods don't really understand the concept of death or that it is differnet from being alive

    The fluff of this game seems very lib-twitter-core, but I used to say the same about lancer's setting, which is fun and smartly written. A battle report series on this would be cool!

      There's a novelization of the game creator's original campaign out thhere. Really fun read.
      It's called "whispers from the deep" and it's written by the creator of flying circus, Erika Chappell

    • @KillerOrca
      @KillerOrca Před 2 lety +1

      Well if nothing else you can ignore most of the fluff and focus on the ridiculously detailed flight combat crunch. I too would love to see a battle report for this.
