I suppose original sound effect really is just made up of many bells playing at high speed. Might have even been designed that way by accident.
The sound design in MC's videos doesn't get enough credit. Everyone is focused on the animations, but the music and sound effects add SO much to them.
@@labyrinthmind2951 Thank you, I appreciate that a lot! Justin (the sound designer) and I had to collaborate closely on this one because of how much crossover there was between the sound/music/voiceover. I actually voiced all the background voices/laughing/crying/chanting too.
@@AlexWalkerSmith wow, well done! I know that's very tricky to do. In movies they usually never have people talking over one another because of how difficult it is to edit so I can only imagine how tedious that must have been. It turned out amazing!

The part at 2:07 with the bells transitioning into the sound effect used in the show is used in such a genius way. It just snaps you back from the increasingly choking horror to the show and that sudden transition from unfamiliar torture to a familiar sound typically followed by joyful emotions is absolutely brilliant, I can't help but admire it over and over
From time to time there's one of two MeatCanyon videos that are not just great, but also a demonstration of talent and genius in narrative.
God there are so many details. I just realized that all of bell people smiled ONLY and ONLY when he looked at them if they were out of his sight they immediatly got sad faces like they beg for attention

I’m not really into horror stuff or anything, but this is genuinely the best work of art I’ve ever seen when it comes to short animation. The bell creature is next level impressive, absolutely unbelievable. The slow motion shot from below as it rings gives chills. Well done sir.

I see it more as an instant captured in the mind. The bells he's hearing is the sound of the iconic ring, calling him to look. "Look at me, Steve." The bell was his hallucination.

Steve's stare feels like he's in his own limbo and he knows it, and he's not scared, he's in pure awe and shock. As if he had already experienced the same scenario a thousand times and can only be even more surprised each time.
He could be seeing the rapture and that could be signaling an apocalypse in the meat canyon universe
I love how steve is not potrayed as the distressed protagonist in this one, he fears nothing, he is utterly unmoving and stoic, one thinks that this happened thousands of times to him, that it happens daily, but he is unflinching and brave, in this he shows true strenght.
He is a man who has truly come to terms with his fate.

He was shocked so deeply by the visions he witnessed, that he could think of no other response other than silence, for no expression would be enough to demonstrate the depths of his anguish. Do not look upon this man and see an unmovable stoic, pity him as a broken man who can not unsee what he saw.
