    I ordered the kit from Elektro, they are excellent to deal with. only took less than a week to come from Italy to Canada(ups) but was surprised ups charged me broker fee($16) on top of the shipping fee I already paid, this part is a bummer). Had my husband installed it tonight, super easy (according to him), and right the way, coffee tastes so much better(not so over extracted). I highly recommend getting it from Elektro if you are considering this extra modification. While you are there, get the pressure gauge, and a few extra upgrade, might as well if you are paying shipping and broker fee.

    the tube he started to undo at 2:25, anyone know where I can order? It bubbled due to the high pressure and heat and started to leak. Cant seem to find it anywhere

    When I connect the tube to the pump as shows @7:46 it is too tight and touches the copper line from the boiler.
    Did you connect the same tube or put on a longer one?

    Just finished installing...I only get 8.5 bar. Per the pressure gauge I bought along with the OPV kit. Is there an adjustment to bring it up to 9.5?

    Hi! Just a question, I have an Oscar 2 and it has inside (right side when you open the machine from the top) a black box with a yellow cap that you can turn with + and - symbols. What is this? I've searched in the manual and it says nothing of its function! thanks in advance.

      hi, you may have found the answer already, but here`s quick answer for your question!
      I think the box is a pressure stat, especially called `Sirai pressure stat` which is often used in commercial espresso machines.
      Pressure stat detects the pressure inside the boiler and if it is below its set pressure, it activates heater to heat up boiler until the pressure reaches its setting.
      When you remove the yellow cap, you will see a screw. By screwing it + or - ways, you can adjust its setting pressure.
      Hope this will help you!

    I ordered this kit, but after I installed, machine doesn’t work right. A small amount of water flows from the head of the coffee machine. Does anyone know where the fault lies?

  • @don1738
    @don1738 Před 3 lety +3

    For those who dont know why you would install an opv kit, it is to lower the bars of pressure the coffee is extracted. Generally rhe factory has the pressure to about 13 bars which is too high. I believe they have it this high possibly to save cost from the manufacturer. The opv lowers the brew prrssure significantly to the standard 9 bars or lower.

      Will it taste better or we're just following standards?

    • @langzhi1873
      @langzhi1873 Před 2 lety

      @@makeme.coffee the op got it a little bit wrong. The opv regulates the highest pressure of the brewing pressure, so if your opv set too high you might encounter issue with high extracting that could cause channeling in your puck, which is not great for your espresso extracting. So in short yes, it can help you extract better coffee

    Why did you use this OPV instead of OPV from Musica?

    Kindly advise how to increase the coffee brewing temperature as the pressure switch screw is glued and cannot be turned,Thanks

    • @ElektrosTolentino
      @ElektrosTolentino  Před 5 lety

      The pressurestat is blocked, but even if the adjustment screw can be turned, the temperature increase is irrelevant. The Oscar II (like other machines with HX) is at a good temperature after about 40 minutes it is turned on
