Are you serious I thought Muhammad Ali died from age and Mike Tyson became heavy weight champ 3 times he earned it are you saying with good boxers he wasn’t top notch
Cool BEANS so you don’t think that brain damage had something to do with him being dead..or do you think he was just faking it....WHO DID MIKE BEAT THAT WAS GREAT,give me his best name on his record ...
The thing that always blew my mind was before tyson went to Japan and was full blown crazy, he would attack guys, destroy them, then try to help them up, he would get bum rushed by trainers and security and was just trying to pick a guy up and would almost cry because they were hurt. He is a dynamic and complex human, much more than a warrior.
msc14111990 he got too much attention but he was rare it was rare to see such knockout artist like him, your right Holyfield and Lennox did beat him and the brother people could buy for you to try to say he wasn’t good is plain dumb, go back and watch fights like him and razor that was war and it’s argued he destroyed his career, destroyed Bruno and he was a monster, he beat plenty of good fighters, for you to say he only got attention because he was black makes me think you got something against black people
@msc14111990 Pretty much everyone he fought was bigger than him. None of the fighters you mentioned are among today's heavyweights. Lenox Lewis and Evander Hollyfield are from his era and had the chance to fight him when he was the champion and did not. They fought a Tyson who had spent four years in prison and was nowhere near the fighter he was.
@@chrisbutters4344 Holyfield was due to fight Tyson after Douglas, but we know what happened there. He also paid Lewis to step aside in 1996 to fight Bruce Seldon.
@@chrisbutters4344 The reason we never saw Tyson v Holyfield or Lewis in 1992 was the fault of Mike Tyson. No one else, he got himself in prison. When Tyson got out of prison, he got his world title back, but he like someone said, pad Lewis 4m in step aside money, Lewis agreed coz Tyson wanted to unify the WBA and WBC. But then Tyson refused to fight Lewis and Lewis sued him. Tyson then vacated his WBC strap.
@@Guttlegob You are absolutely correct in that. I should start adding in (that it was all his fault) with any of these discussions. I shouldn't have put Hollyfield's name in there. I'm just used to putting Hollyfield and Lewis together for whatever reason. Lewis has admitted to not wanting to fight Tyson in the 80s whereas Hollyfield was a cruiserweight back then. Tyson stopped developing as a boxer around 88 when he let Don King convince him to fire Kevin Rooney. After that, he relied more on his natural talent than the combination of his talent combined with strategy and obsessive preparation. On one hand, I feel as though I owe it to boxing to differentiate head hunter, drug addict, Hollywood Mike Tyson from skilled, master footwork, master defense Tyson. On the other hand, I have to add the disclosure that it was 100% HIS FAULT that he peaked and declined at the age of 21 under the influence of Don King and 100% to the CREDIT of Hollyfield and Lewis that they maximized their potential. Not just them. Big George and even Larry Holmes finished their careers stronger than Tyson as well.
Tyson's story is amazing, and no doubt about it, he was an absolute destroyer of men like the world had never seen. Mike Tyson's journey in life showed him to be a clearly flawed man, that made him human. Tyson was someone who recognized his flaws, and decided to become a better man, and role model, which is an extraordinary achievement for someone who was without question, the scariest man on the planet for years
a few years ago tyson came out to australia on a speaking tour. i was sitting in the foyer in the hotel he stayed at. looked up and here is tyson walking past me. i said jesus christ mike tyson. he shook my hand. what a pleasure to meet him just for a few seconds in time. the boxer i admired as a kid from afar back in the 80s.
Robert Freeman to be honest. I don’t know how many punches Prime Ali could take from prime iron mike. Just saying. Don’t know who would win but I’m just saying. 10 punches would be enough to knock an elephant out

@msc14111990 Mike's career defining victory was against Michael Spinks. Holyfield was built for Mike, he crowded Mike, didnt give him the room to go down come up with his punches.
Tyson was truly terrifying . All pro boxers are probably pretty chilled pre and post fight and they put on on a media spectacle during weigh ins and interviews etc . Its the discipline along with the structure and routine , diet and objectives all the ingredients for a happy healthy person . Add natural talent a sprinkle of testosterone, focus and prestige along with financial incentives you got yourself a contender . Mike however looked like barely contained rage , he looked like a bomb who is in the first millisecond of detonating , or like Bruce Banner just at the point of when he loses control and he managed to maintain that frighting state until you realised that he reined that all the way in went the other way at some point into cold, quiet psycho mode which made him EVEN scarier .

Yes he was saved by somone who recomised his fantastic talent but another form of abuse took place that being phycological abuse, yes he became possibly the greatest fighter of the modern day. But at what cost yes he was convicted of a terrible crime but why it's was because from a early age he was being told he was indestructible and could do whatever he wanted I know this however,he has become a very intresting and well balanced ex word champ with a head full of boxing knowledge. As a ex bbc camera man I've met Mike 3 times 2 time in the 80s and once last year and I would say this would i break bread with him in the 80s no fucking way he was as mad as a box of frogs when I met him in June 2018 we chatted very happily for a good hour or so about general life shit.
