Honestly the only issue with All Lives Matter is that it's used to oppose BLM, if it came first I would definitely say it. It's just weird that once people want to say Black Lives Matter suddenly everyone's saying all lives matter or blue lives matter as an opposing response.
Exactly. Anyone who feels the need to counter BLM is showing their true colors. Huge red flag.
Blue lives matter came before black lives matter btw it just wasnt on the news
Its not that All Lives dont matter, its that its used to shut down and silence people trying to bring awareness to a specific issue. That context is extremely important.

The negotiations were short
The older guy in the blue shirt nailed it. The extremeness on both sides is the problem. It's very hard to have a conversation with an opposing side anymore, and that's sad. I miss the days we could discuss important topics without screaming at each other. Social media, the news, and the past few elections have really divided this country big time.
100% agreed
I think the fact that politically-biased news tends to highlight only extremes on the other side makes both sides think the other is worse than it really is. I lean democrat, but my grandfather is republican and always has Fox News on tv. So much of their programming covers people on the far left doing things that even my democratic friends would say is out of line, and Fox News perpetrated that thatâs how most democrats think, which is simply untrue.
There is no extremeness just a brunch of young white boys using the Republican party to political views to push for and all right (white) agenda Republicans say pro life all right says no rights. Democrats are saying laws are put in place to protect those in need not to punish the weak then expect those same people that are punished to pay for something they didn't do
@@marjorielivingston3901 And I feel like news stations will always try and exaggerate the extremes for their own views. They scare a lot of people on each side. The news in general needs to take a breath sometimes!
Democratic extremism is often defined as following the science, pro medicine, acknowledging minorities and women, etc. That's an extremism I can get behind.
"Black lives matter" isn't about ONLY black lives mattering, it's about black live mattering TOO, so "all lives matter" seems like nothing but trying to make the issues black people face seem less important/potent

All lives canât matter until Black Lives Matter, and all know in this day and age, a lot of people donât think so. It really shows that if your response is to deny Black Lives Matter and say all lives do instead, you already show your true colors. NO, all lives matter!â sounds? Itâs really that easy to understand
totally agree - just wish the phrase was said explicitly and completely instead of just "BLM". Makes it harder to have a proper discussion if others have to infer what the slogan means rather than what it literally says. Admittedly, this wouldn't change much for many :/

I have to say, the left is really bad at marketing. Words have power, they have meaning, when the sentence needs an asterisk it loses power. BLMT is one extra word, and would give a completely close-ended point, not refutable.
@William James Sidis and I think itâs rather concerning that you donât seem like you have talked to a single person who support BLM. Literally 99% of us donât see that BLM has any formal âleadersâ or organizations to represent the movement.

I'd agree, except that removing pro-choice protections has become a huge focus of the Republican party leadership (noticeably less so amongst voters based on the referendums). the main difference between BLM and ALM is that black people are getting the most hate on in the US currently (example police brutality), and therefore it should be made loud about that problem. when 1 house is on fire, doesn't mean every other house should get watered on too, but the house which is currently burning.
Firstly that's incorrect you can't prove any race getting more hate than others. It quite obvious the media is left leaning so it tends to show what the left wants to see so this "police brutality" doesn't mean it only affects black people and secondly the whole BLM is very degrading to everyone else being put through oppression why don't we see "Jew lives matter" "Slav lives matter" "Asian lives matter" etc. They too went through oppression but no we have to let everyone know it's all about the black people. They always say we care for everyone but I don't see them preaching for the 11 million lives lost during the holocaust, the lives of 20 million Slavs diying during the Soviet Union, the hate Asians recieved especially during the whole covid pandemic and whats worse a lot of it came from Black people. Clearly the whole statement BLM is a selfish statement. There shouldn't be a statement for anyone because every race and ethnicity has went through something and still do. So I will stand strong for only ALM because I don't devalue and race or ethnicity any less than other and this includes black people.
Bruh police brutality isnât a pandemic like you think it is. You also have to understand that a lot of times itâs the fault of the people not listening that leads to the altercation going worse

Honestly I always think of the ALM vs BLM argument in this way:
Imagine that in your neighborhood your house is burning down. At this current moment your house needs the most assistance and the most attention. Right now, your house matters more than the houses that are not burning down. And then your neighbor, seeing your house burning, says âbut all of our houses matter.â Yes, absolutely. But the house that requires the pressing need is YOUR specific house at this specific moment.
Like obviously we know and agree that all lives matter and everyone matters. But, BLM came about in a time where the black community specifically needed assistance and attention. So when you say ALM as a retort, itâs dismissive to the group of people who currently need the help.
Exactly. The house on fire = the inequality statistics.
It`s funny how almost all democrats and republicans agree on BLM as well as ALM. but everyone's talking past each other.
Dems: "SO YOU`RE SAYING BLACK LIFES DON`T MATTER?"
Rep: "SO YOUÂŽRE SAYING WHITE LIFES DONÂŽT MATTER?"

I enjoy this video not because I necessarily agree with what everyone said, but the fact that everyone had some bias or hypocrisy that went right over their own heads. Unfortunately, most people will watch this video and be thrown further into their preconceived notions of the âotherâ side.
the biggest problem is that they only have two parties to choose fromđif this video was made in another country it would be so much longer because people have more than 2 choices in politics
Not really they would just put them on the liberal or conservative side
Rank-choice voting would allow for third parties to have some viability
that hello there 0:19 is great
My dude said hello there like obi wan
It was absolutely intentional hehe
I was prepared for this to be way more mean-spirited than it was. I think it helped that everyone was in their own room by themselves when they were asked the questions.
As far as the question in the thumbnail goes, if you think either side cares about black lives, congrats. You've been duped. Bamboozled. Smeckldorfed!
0:20 bro he sounded just like obi wan

Y'all seen how them middle ground videos were popping off huh đ
So we just gonna ignore the hello there guy at 0:20 ????
0:20 obi wan
That was actually pretty wholesome to watch! Props to cut for not picking the extremists on both sides for easy outrage-clicks but actually showing people who could probably have a civil conversation with someone from the other party.
Glasses guy spittin facts
Not going to lie, dude in the blue shirt is buff af. Could look at him all day
It's like if someone wanted to raise awareness about breast cancer and the prostate cancer community piped up and said "hey all cancer matters". Like yes, and you're not wrong, but you're only saying that to keep me from speaking.
