- PART 57 of this series... Job Done
My biggest challenge yet! Can I FIX a 1988 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit with too many faults to list, there is more wrong with it than right. Will I end up crying into my Connolly leather seats or will this beast live on.
This is the cheapest Rolls Royce in the UK so I wasn't expecting much, hopefully bit by bit with sheer determination and zero skill I will attempt to fix each fault one by one.
This is PART 57 of this series. Every part will be filmed, and I hope to discover the craftmanship that has gone into this 34 year old moving piece of art.

Remember that this is just for entertainment and I am not an expert in these repairs. The processes in the video may not be the best way, the correct way or the safest way to fix these things. I do love fault finding and trying to fix broken things, so I hope that comes across in this 'Trying to FIX' series. Many thanks, Vince. - Jak na to + styl
Actually got emotional when you rolled the credits. Can't believe it's been 2 years! What an amazing job you've done. We can't wait to see you drive her.
What an amazing job! It looks fantastic and so very many things fixed on it since the start! Fingers crossed it doesnt need much at MOT! Incredible work Vince, what a huge project this was!
Thank you so much Chris, you viewed and commented on I think every single episode AND bought the MMV RR mug to boot!!!! A true star, thank you! MOT is booked in for this Thursday so I feel my current elation might be short lived 😂
@@Mymatevince make sure you update us about the result Vince! Nice job!
@@Mymatevince If it fails, don't beat yourself - it's an old car, it will have technical imperfections. My car is reaching a point in it's life (24 y/o, 330k km golf cabriolet) where I have to work on it every year to pass Austrias version of the MOT - but that's fine, cause I really, really like it (as shown by its mileage😂)
Give it 4 years and it will be MOT and Tax exempt 🙂
I remember the ripped seats, the rusted bodywork, the awful paintwork. Watching you methodically tackle and fix every single problem has been inspiring.
You should be super proud of yourself for your hard work Vince , and I can't wait to see the smile on your face as you drive it down the road. I expect that you'll be taking her to quite a few Rolls Royce owners club meets too
I can't believe it's been 2 years. What a ride. Thank you for sharing it all with us, Vince!
Im an old car guy (64) from the US and I have to say your hard work and determination has really paid off, you saved this old girl from the parts bin and really did a fine job considering it was a driveway project with all the limitations that can impose. I hope you get many happy miles from her, im sure she appreciates all the love and attention youve shown her. This series on your Rolls really takes me back to my early youth in the late seventies early eighties when a friend of mines dad bought a massive black 63 Cadillac Fleetwood with a blown engine for fifty dollars but the body and interior were in good shape - my friends dad gave it to us as our first learning project as we loved cars. His father found a replacement engine and transmission and we installed it in a weekend so we had it running pretty quick. Much like you we wanted all the power accessories working so I had to repair wiring harnesses, power windows, power seat controls and transmission, clean switch contacts, replace or recondition endless bits and pieces, and fix numerous little electrics, lights, and we found two heater hoses coming off the engine that puzzled us as they seemed to go to the back of the car - lo and behold it turned out the car had its own rear seat heater control panel with its own heater core and blower motor-! We learned so much on that old car, and the black body looked great all polished up. I hope all goes well with your inspection and cant wait to see you going down the road in it. Best wishes and hoping for more videos on this one, Mike in the US
Congratulations Vince. Your PO box is in Watford: I have a story for you... As you follow the Watford Rd direction St Albans you pass Chiswell Green, best known for the Royal National rose garden. Towards the beginning of Stanley Avenue, which runs parallel, lived a Mr Jennings who had moved there to retire. He chatted with my mother and we made a slip through the fence for her to help him out with his fruit trees. People have stories and his was that he was present with Mr Royce when Mr Rolls walked in. My mum found this brilliant and the local paper came. Hearts Advertiser or St Albans Review. When I was at Uni he had his 100th birthday and Rolls Royce sent down a car, possible like yours, to go with is smiling card from the Queen and more local newspaper attention. As a kid we'd pop through the fence to say hello and my eyes didn't pass his kitchen top. He gave me lessons in life and I can't remember them. No different from you though. Interested and capable with a modesty and momentum. He once said he'd give me his old camera, but I got better than that, I got memories. I think Mr Jennings would have liked the fact that you didn't cut corners - redoing the seats, painting the pinstripe, layers and layers of paint and buff by hand.
Congratulations, Vince! Can't believe it's finally finished! I'm so glad your hard work paid off! Thank you for taking us along for the ride! 🚗
Next step: do the same for your son's first car 😂
Vince mate, you are too hard on yourself. Over 2 years you have shown how a humble guy can bring a roller back to life. Yours is a 10/10. Your efforts are much appreciated. I love all your videos, keep entertaining us please, and ignore any negative comments.. We normal people love your content. Well done!!
I've really loved this series and I don't particularly like cars. This is about one man's belief and one man's passion to take a something that should have been looked after and treated better and bring it back to its former glory.
Your proudest moment will be when you take your dad out for a drive and watching the joy on his face as people look on. Well done Vince, you did her proud ❤❤❤
Hi Vince, Congratulations on completing the project. I have watched every single episode religiously. I think some before-and-after shots of the car would be good to show how much work you have put into it.
Fantastic series. Fixing the Spirit of Ecstasy was a definite requirement to pass an MOT, because kids like me in the '80s used to grab them purely to see them suck down into the grille. If it didn't then it would murder pedestrians in accidents just by being a huge spike.
I do believe all the amazing work will pass this Silver Spirit with the MOT, but I would like to see a showdown of the MOT tester and Vince with Morricone's "Ecstasy of Gold" playing.
What a great series! Great metal work Vince's Dad! Congrats Vince.
Amazing. You can be very, very proud Vince. Tenacity, patience, determination, courage. What a role model. 💪🥇
I would never have taken on such a monumental project. But now… who knows!
Mate, you did a bang up job on this car.
You started this with very little knowledge on how to fix most of the faults, but just learned as you went.
I can say with a fair amount of confidence, most of us would eventually have went "Sod it! not worth the effort." and quit halfway through.
You didn't and it shows in the, close to, final results.
That MOT will be a good indicator of a "final score" for the project.
Don't sell yourself short Vince, looking good is an understatement it looks awesome!
Congratulations on the finish!
This was my absolute favorite series on YT, ever (and I'm not even a car guy). Congrats Vince, and thanks for the hours of information and entertainment. I learned SO much from this project.
Been following this series down to a T from day 1. I have said it before, and i'll say it again, you Vince, are the proof that anyone with a positive attitude can do as good as everything! You should be well proud of yourself for not giving up! The result is very nice!! Good job MMV!
Vince, I was sceptical of you painting the car, but I have to say it looks so much better now! It just shows what a bit of TLC can do to a car.
Congratulations on your Rolls. The great news here is that you have earned that feeling of gratitude of the work you've done. You have sweat equity in that and you learned so much. The car is indeed a one off because you brought it back to life - you gave it a second life. No longer is it an eyesore. It is a vehicle that has a story that you wrote with your effort. Drive that with pride. You've earned this feeling, my friend. Nothing is better than taking something broken and bringing it back to life to be appreciated once again!
Congrats Vince! What an amazing job! The car looks fabulous!
Really appreciate that, thank you 💪
For someone who has no real knowledge of the motor trade that car looks exceptional, a vast improvement from when you got it, well done Vince.
I was grinning on the last few minutes of the video. Vince, I’m so happy for you. Never thought I would enjoy this series as much as I did. Great job my friend!
Well done, Vince! I've watched every episode, sometimes through my fingers, but you have done an immense job! Brilliant! What a transformation!
Been following this restoration from the start and I have to say you've done a remarkable job. Such an iconic car. Well done
I think I've watched every single video. You've kept me entertained for hours and accompanied me on so many work trips, worldwide.
You've done a stunning job Vince. Plenty more to do, no doubt, but you should be immensely proud 👏
Vince, you are way too humble and you under-sell everything you do, which is VERY rare these days. This is a work of art and you are a maestro Be VERY PROUD, best series ever on yourube. I have watched every episode and love what you have done. Great job. This car is Goose from Fatal Fury special's car to a tee. Love from the land down under.
Your two years of hard graft...have produced a masterpiece! Your justifiable pride in your handiwork was certainly evident! I hope you enjoy your car at least as much as I did mine when I did a similar running restoration on my Honda Civic. Congratulations on a job well done.
Amazing work, Vince! Really showing what an average guy can do with a bit of repair knowledge and a whole lot of gumption.
Nice one Butter Ball, thanks for viewing/supporting the series 💪
Congratulations Vince, as a RR enthusiast I've followed this from the start and I have to say a huge well done. You have been an inspiration for me to tackle my own next project. The car looks great, remember there is nothing like a RR on the road, wherever you go it will turn heads, now you've done it, enjoy it mate...
Absolutely stunning, and honestly inspiring for me to finish so many of the little projects I got frustrated with and dropped. Amazing job, Vince!
Wow, what a fantastic transformation, Vince, you have an amazing job, bearing in mind you did it in your Dad's drive with no weather protection. Get you're really looking forward to driving it. Hopefully it'll go through its NOT ok. Take care fella, all the best.
I haven't watched any of these videos because I'm a professional mechanic, sort of been there done that type of deal. But I'm watching this one and congrats on getting it done. Your other videos I watch as soon as posted.💗What a gorgeous car.
I can only imagine the sense of satisfaction you'll feel when you get to drive it. :)
What you have managed to accomplished working in that space is remarkable!! I seriously can't wait until you get to drive her!
Phe-bloody-nomenal, if you ask me. You are the epitome of the typical British Bulldog, Vince - tenacity to be admired. Congratulations!
been following this series since part 1! Amazing how far you've come with it! I think a congratulations is in order!
Thanks for sticking with it. I have the MOT booked in for this Thursday 😬😬😬😬 I fear that may be an upsetting day!
I absolutely enjoyed these two years of hard work. Well done, Vince. The End Credits made me also emotional. 🥺
Great job Vince, the car looks fantastic! I've been following this series from day 1 and it feels bitter sweet to see it end.
I remember the big reveal when you said you had a new project, now look, look what you've achieved, you should be mega proud of yourself, well done
This is just absolutely brilliant work and you should be beaming with pride. You're way too hard on yourself with all the minor imperfections. It was never about making the car perfect. Or putting thousands and thousands of pounds into the car to fix every tiny thing. You invested money where it was needed and put in the hard labor. That's what makes this car special and what made this series so enjoyable to watch. Very inspiring all around.
can't believe 2 years passes just like that so quickly.... i'm glad to be here from start to end!
Vince! You have done amazing things to this car!! People will defiantly be staring when you drive it around because it is beautiful!! I'm so happy you finally got it "done", but as an owner of older cars myself, you are n ever REALLY done. :-) Watching the MOT video next and crossing my fingers! Can't see why it wouldn't pass!!
The car looks majestic. Fantastic job Vince.
I never thought we’d see this day. Well done Vince 🎉😊 congratulations 🎉🎊
What an awesome transformation! If you Google the word "determination" a picture of you should be the top hit!! It was nice when you mentioned some of the repairs Vince, brings it all back and reminds me just how comprehensive a restoration you did. The best series on CZcams? You bet!! 😃🏆🏆🏆
The journey to fixing that thing has finally payed off.
I am not even a car guy but I have LOVED seeing the progress in this series. :)
Brilliant job Vince, absolutely brilliant. You are a hugely gifted and talented man. I have watched you for ages now and you have given me so many hours of pleasure for which I am so very grateful
Thank you Barry 👍
Thank you for this series and not giving up!
Absolutely amazing, Vince. Incredible transformation. I've loved watching your journey. All that hard work has really paid of. Hope you're proud of how well it's turned out. What a car.
Hi Vince, well done on this! We don’t work on these classic cars because it makes sense financially. You should be extremely proud of what you have achieved - the car is ready for the summer - trust me you’ll be grinning from ear to ear driving it around knowing you did that. Fingers crossed for the MOT!
Im so happy for you, never had I seen so much love dedication and hard work in any project.. RESPECT!!!!!
I can't believe it was around 2 years ago you started this video series on the Rolls-Royce! I've enjoyed watching them so much, it seems to have gone by so quickly. ❤
Once it gets through its MOT, you need to re-enact an episode of Thunderbirds and take Mrs Vince out for a drive with you dressed as Parker 😉
"Parker, get the rolls..."
"Yes, my lady..."
Such a journey Vince, I can't believe it's been 2 years?!
Been with you since first episode, fingers crossed for the MOT 🤞🏻
I used to walk past the Jack Barclay showroom/garage on the way to school every day, they had a spinning door that would lower down from the showroom entrance into the workshop beneath. I'd be fascinated every day. One day I'll buy a car from there.🙏
Great video, Vince.
Vince, what an amazing job! What an emotional ride through the ups and downs. It takes so much to keep going and never loose sight. Truly heroic!
It’s incredible how far hard work and persistence can get you. What a journey!
Two years an absolute labour of love Vince amazing these late Rolls Royces are perhaps the finest of British workmanship and looks now as good as it was when it was made good luck with the MOT
Great job, Vince. The Roller has come far, from where it once was. Give yourself a pat on the back from us!
Great job Vince. You inspire people to start something new and learn as you go.
Sure your dad has enjoyed having you round.
Wow! I remember watching the first video of this RR. Can't believe it's finished and how good a job you've done. You could start a Gofund me so that you can afford to fill it up. 😂😂😂
I've thoroughly enjoyed this series. Your perseverance has paid off as per usual.
Thanks for inviting us along for the ride. Hopefully the MOT won't be bad and you can then enjoy the car for what it is.
When you got the project 2 years back vince, i had thought oh! no! this will turn into an heartache and a money pit but you pulled through like a champ, i followed you along the journey of transformation of this rolls and i am very happy to see you have completed it with almost as much perfection as one could have think of. I was a bit wary about the rattle can paint job and it turned out to be awesome for a rattle can backyard paint job, there will always be a bit of orange peel effect here and there but i wouldn't bother much, you should enjoy the fruits of your hard work, soon post some videos of driving it on the road. I eagerly await for the on a few driving videos of it.
Absolutely blown away by this vid. Looks absolutely amazing. You have every right to be so proud of what you've done here. Great job.
Thank you so much Roger!
Hi Vince,
I think you did a great job on the RR. 👍🏻
The only thing missing from the interior (in my humble opinion) are the lambs wool floormats you could buy from RR.
I'll keep my fingers and legs crossed it'll pass the MOT.
Vince my man, hold your head up high 😊 You have done an incredible job ! The Roller looks amazing and thank you so much for allowing us to follow the journey ! Well done mate !
Amazing work Vince, watched you methodically go through each problem found and repair the items fairly good. Well done, gives the rest of us more inspiration to finish off our projects!
Well done Vince, thoroughly enjoyed this series
Fantastic achievement, hard graft pays off so well done not just for the Roller but for the filming and editing to keep us punters entertained. Top man yourself.
Well done, Vince, proud of you and how you carried out the work on the car & what you achieved. Great work Mate...
Beautiful classic car 👍
Thank you Paul 👍
Absolutely the best you could do on that car. Bet you learned a lot of skills down the road. Always build a tent above it, at least that keeps some of the moisture out 👍 thank you for the journey 👌🤗
Been following your Rolls Royce journey since the beginning. Love every second of it, and sad to see it come to an end. Well done Vince, for Canada 🇨🇦
I really thank God I work hard to engage myself in someway of earning more income. My family are happy once again and can now afford anything for my family even with my Retirement.$78k weekly returns has been life changing, after so much struggles.
Maria Angelina Alexander I really appreciate her efforts and transparency.
I remember giving her my first savings $20000 and she opened a brokerage account for me it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.
I heard a CNBC news host spoke highly big about this name and her strategies, how she has been helpful to many people. Been trying to reach her since.
YES!!! That's exactly her name (Maria Angelina Alexander) so many people have recommended highly about her and am just starting with her from Brisbane Australia.🇦🇺
Most people keep getting scared of taking risk, though I started with as low as $15,000
actually because it was my first time and it was successful, She's a great personality in the state.
Well done Vince. You should be proud that all of your work has finally paid off. Fantastic job
WELL DONE VINCE - It's passed the MOT!!! Congrats - no adviseries either. You are a star!!
Congratulations Vince !! It's a credit to you mate !! Can't wait to see her rolling majestically around the manor !! Bloody Marvellous Mate !!
Incredible work, mate. Can't believe it's been 2 years. Felt like I've been on the adventure with you. Delighted for you. Well done, thoroughly well done. 🎉
Wow, that was some undertaking. Having owned a Silver Shadow 1, bearing the Jack Barkley legend, l can attest to the joy of owning a Rolls. Fantastic work, the grey really compliments the stainless trim. Your excitement is palpable, and your success well deserved. Thanks for great entertainment.
Thanks for taking us onthisjourney, Vince, we enjoyed it ❤
I hate cars but I do appreciate the care and time you've spent bringing this one back from the grave.
Fanastic job Vince! Definitely my favourite car series on youtube, I've watched every video and I'm gutted it's the end but so happy for you to have come so far! I think when it's passed the MOT you should take it to a classic car show and let your subscribers know where you're taking it so we can come and have a look and have chat!
So amazing to be here at the finish! I will miss seeing you work on the RR, but you really have brought it back to a condition I didnt think was possible. I would be quite proud riding around in that.
Well done Vince, it looks beautiful! I've been following the series since the beginning - a labour of love for you, but it's been an absolute pleasure for us viewers. Nice one.
Absolutely incredible. Your perseverance is second to none. 👍
When i first started watching this series I wasn't happy as I was mad about electronics but now i love it and hope it doesn't end. Wouldn't it be nice if you sold it and got a more expensive rolls royce that's broken to repair. Well done for finishing
Now you have to take us along on a short cruise! WELL DONE Sir.
Myself and my Mrs have watched every episode of this and have absolutely loved it Vince. Looking forwards to the future videos and next project!
Amazing serie Vince, you've shown us all that willpower will get you very far and everything is possible if you go for it. Thank you for all your content
Brilliant Vince thank you so much for two amazing years of entretainment 🎉
Well done Vince!
I am proud of you!
Now you need to work on the engine, gearbox and differential changing the oils and done it its!
Vince, all your hard work & patience has paid off! Well done! Good for you! 👍🏽🙏🏽🌹
Just like to say thanks and well done Vince! You bring us so many great vids and this has been no different.. what a great channel and community you've built x
Wow it's sure been a rollercoaster, but you did an exceptional job. I hope you're truly proud of what you accomplished!
Great Job Vince, hopefully this isn't the end of the Rolls Royce vids!
Amazing work, Vince. I haven't watched every single video, but I was there for part 1, and it's amazing to see you finish this.
Bro-fist! Dude, it's beautiful. I enjoyed the two year journey, and seeing all your dedication coalesce into this brilliant machine. Good luck with the inspection!
Really proud of you mate! Never thought you would do it. You have inspired me to rebuild my car that I have had for over 25 years and videoing worts and all doing all kinds of work I have never done before. Thankyou.
She looks amazing! Congrats on what looks a good job done. Been following the progress a bit, mostly here for the electronic videos. Loved the way you reacted while showing it off!
