    Just to make sure, What is the pulley ratio? I mean if I put 40 kg on the back lever, is it will feel 40 kg as well on the pulley (1:1 ratio)?

    I like that you can do a neutral grip pull up and wide I presume as well as dips on this as that's one less footprint, a piece of equipment to worry about.
    This is an advantage over some competitors.
    So a pull up and dip station, a high low pulley, safe presses and rowing motions...
    maybe seated calf and standing calf raises? That's a lot in a small footprint.
    I suspect a seated overhead press might look better?
    I see some arcs I don't like but it still impressed me.
    I mean some low pulley dedicated units take up this much space!
    I'm not sure one has to like all the exercises to find value in it.
    I mean let's say you didn't like the squats, which actually look decent to me, you could buy a trap bar...
    The cost in money and foot print for a high low pulley and a chin dip stand and a half rack
    or power rack is substantial...

    Recent purchase. No wobbling as previously mentioned/criticised, just loaded all three pins to100kg then loosened bolts to allow to settle then retightened - result solid! Design is near identical to PTec but $500 cheaper new. Bar is 16kg empty at horizontal position so provides little assistance. Squats can be performed from top position; facing gym, lift off and resite pin further down before beginning squat. Only negative is the adjustable bench, which is too bulky, unwieldy for my liking. I've resorted to my good old solid bench.

      +Tomasz Golebiowski I own this one and I can say we're very pleased to have purchased it. I have other Body Solid equipment and have never had trouble with it. We bought this at a local dealer so we got it for just under $1000. I've been told Power Tech has poor customer service, but I don't know that to be a fact. I would investigate some on that issue. As I said before we bought this one and we're very happy with it.

    I am looking for a good home gym type of equipment and was wondering if I could use this machine. I am 6'4" and concerned that I may be too tall for getting full range of motion with some of these exercises.

    • @BodySolidFit
      @BodySolidFit  Před 6 lety +1

      Just to give you an idea, the model in this video is around 6'2 and was able to easily get full range of motion on many of these. The GLGS1000 is 83" tall so around 6'9-6'10 so at 6'4 you should have no issues.

      @BodySolidFit  Před 8 měsíci

      Definitely a good idea for our engineers to think about for the future! I'll forward it along to them. The angle for pull-ups on this machine aren't ideal but they are usable if you have no other options. Thanks for the comment and suggestion!

  • @jst601
    @jst601 Před 6 lety +1

    Comparing as many lever gyms as I can see USA available, this one seems to have less of an angle on the bench press functions & perhaps all pressing functions. It's the fixed arc of lever systems that turns me off; this seems to not be nearly as drastic an arcing angle as others. Anyone else see this; have an opinion; offer advice?

    • @michaelkulman7095
      @michaelkulman7095 Před 2 lety

      Some say the arc for flat bench with Powertec is off so much they put 12" risers under the bench to better match the desired slight arc.
      I suggest you watch the arc here and contrast it with videos of other units and see for yourself.
      The two most concerning movements are the flat bench and the squat.
      So really study those two here and competitors videos of these two.

      Pwrtech needs2 to step it up....cuz theres is behind now....this design model is soooo much better....ur doing 30% instead of 60% less weight cuz the angle is more corrected now....soooo ur getting more of a true bench....

    Thanks.

    • @BodySolidFit
      @BodySolidFit  Před 6 lety

      Thank you for reaching out! No, unfortunately, you would not be able to deadlift with the press arm. You could maybe utilize a straight bar and the low pulley to achieve something similar to a deadlift but the press arms will not go low enough for you to achieve that. Let us know if you have any additional questions!
