When I got their first album, this song and "The Apocalypse" were my early favorites along with "Shadowmaker." The other live version of this song is from their first live, "Battle in the East," where Miyako does this with a crowd watching her. No problem there, either.

LOVEBITES - Burden Of Time lyrics:
Sleepless nights, with every passing day
    I'm dreaming life away
Faceless moon, tell me, what would you say
If you could curse your fate
    The daylight will die
Silent noise is ringing in my head
    Killing me through the night
Scars might fade, but the pain will remain
    Save me before the dawn
    As days go by
    I'm standing here
    Still fighting it
    One day I must change
    (Don't waste your time)
    Time is fair to everyone
    (Don't waste your life)
Time and tide wait for no one
Don't ever be afraid to die young and live fast
    (Don't waste your time)
Time is slipping away from us
    (Don't waste your life)
Time keeps changing, and so do we
Live as if today was the last day
    SOLO: mi-ya
Starless nights, with every passing day
    I'm swinging life away
An empty glass is falling down again
    What's happening in my life?
    The blood stains remain
    Flames will ignite
    Searching for the light
    In this time
    In due time
    SOLO: mi-ya / midori / both
    I'm standing here
    Still fighting it
    One day I must change
    (Don't waste your time)
    Time is fair to everyone
    (Don't waste your life)
Time and tide wait for no one
Don't ever be afraid to die young and live fast
    (Don't waste your time)
Time will never be the same
    (Don't waste your life)
Time is running out too soon
    Racing against the clock
But we can't escape from tomorrow
    (Don't waste your time)
Time is slipping away from us
    (Don't waste your life)
Time keeps changing, and so do we
Live as if today was the last day

Miyako is a beast alright ! What amazed me even more was how nonchalant she was when she harmonized the keyboard with Midori and played the guitar at the same time. It seemed like this was something she did everyday. Remember that even though this was in the studio it was still LIVE. How many musicians in the world would have the ability and audacity to do that ? You should check out Miyako's piano cover of Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free", it'll blow your mind further.

At least, there was no background singing for her in that section! ;-) Just later...
Not to forget her (foot) tapping (doesn't she also control some prerecorded orchestral sounds?)...
I wonder, if she has a limit, that she can't pass with hard work and practice... Can't see it!

You mentioned the engineers, their albums were mixed by Mikko Karmila , and mastered by Mika Jussila. They are out of Finvox studios in Finland. Finvox has also worked with Nightwish.

Japanese sound engineers worked on this release. And the sound on it is rather better than on the rest of the live albums of Lovebites. I think we should not overestimate the contribution of the Finnish studio to the production of Lovebites. We don't know all the reasons for choosing Finnvox. I think Japanese audio production is the best in the world. And Japanese sound engineers are outstanding masters of their craft.

And this is from their first full album! I love your reactions for two reasons. Firstly, you obviously enjoy what you’re watching and hearing and secondly, as a non musician, you fill in the enormous gaps in my knowledge. I’d never have picked up on the unresolved section being revisited if I watched this 1000 times (which no doubt I will eventually!).

Thanks for reacting to Lovebites again! They are amazing and their songs are very catchy. Most of their performances are fenomenal - at the point that I've been searching 'weeker' performances in video (just to be sure they are humans, you never know... lol). But it's very hard to find any... and when it (seldomly) happenned, it was because of technnical issues... this band is always the same since the begginning, and they keep getting better with time. Lovebites forever!!!

Composer for most of all Lovebites songs, plays guitar and piano, even wrote some songs, knows to play bass and drumms too a little bit, can sing backing vocals, play guitar and piano at the same time-that is Miyako, Chopin of Metal, and probably my favorite musician. After listening to metal for more than 20 years now, i have never seen that much talent in one person. She is truly something special. The whole band is madness, but Miya is mind blowing. Asami said something like: Every band needs to have Miyako, but only we have her...

Battle in the East 2018 and Awake Again 2020 complement each other very well and must-have for fans of Lovebites. The set lists differ only in that on Battle in the East, in addition to all the songs of the first album, four songs from the EP Battle Against Damnation are performed, and on Awake Again there is a cover of the song Eagle Fly Free Helloween. Battle in the East 2018 is a great release with very high quality video and sound. A lot of close-ups with facial expressions, eye expressions and all that. And he is the best in the atmosphere, in living emotions. Haruna is very well shown and just shines. The later live albums are unfortunately quite academic.

Instruments are good, voices as it is,,, what is innovative? as always,. Exciting? No,, Boring.
50 years passed ,, they copied western music,,, and now Japan has made anything EXCITing.
Wish them be more endeavoring,, to make something good to be excited.
Perhaps just a wish that never be done.

    • @boyzyu
      @boyzyu Před rokem +4

I think you got seriously confused between "copy" and "influence". All modern popular music is interconnected one way or another. For example, rock and metal can trace its roots back to delta blues at the turn of the 20th century, and as such, modern rock and metal have been INFLUENCED either directly or indirectly by delta blues. Another example, Kpop has been INFLUENCED by R&B and hip hop. In addition, if you find this music "boring", then just go and listen to something that you like.

    • @daheecho6844
      @daheecho6844 Před rokem +1

@@boyzyu Don't be so upset. The rock of Japan may be influenced by Western Rocks, especially America and GB. I just advised to be more innovative to become one of the main rocks of the world, for which innovation and creativity are needed. J-rock is just one of numerous underdog rocks, not having never been the main flow of the world rock music. That is the difference between Jpop/Jrock and EuroPop/K-Pop.

    • @boyzyu
      @boyzyu Před rokem +4

@@daheecho6844 Huh ? Not upset at all. I was just explaining to you the difference between "copy" and "influence" which you seemed to be confused about. I don't think you understand, being influenced doesn't mean the band's music is not innovative. The innovation comes from taking an influence or multiple influences to produce a new sound, or a new genre or a new sub-genre. That's how popular music has evolved over the last 60 years. For example, Elvis Presley was influenced by gospel music and delta blues to produce his own unique sound. In turn, the rock and metal bands that came after him were influenced by Presley to produce their own unique genres, and then later sub-genres. And henceforth, the modern bands today in turn are influenced by these early rock and metal bands to produce their own unique music. Also, this is true for hip hop, K-pop, J-pop, etc... You may want to learn a bit about music history and how rhythms evolved over time before commenting.
