Nice to see the Scott Brown Real Estate Agency is still going strong in 2045
What about 2070?

You see, they wouldn't have had this problem if Scott Brown ran that building.
Nobody messes with Scott Brown!!!
Good thing that corporation didnt hire Scott Brown to clear the building for them. Players would have been fucked.
@@dirus3142 The players would have heard "I'm with Scott Brown, get the f*** out!" and ran for the fire escape immediately ;)
Option 5: Scott Brown Motherf*ers get the F* out
"Scott Brown, muthafuckas! Get the fuck out! I got a showin'!"
SCOTT BROWN!! GET THE F*CK DOWN!!
But seriously, cool scenario. Would probably be pretty easy to convert to Shadowrun.
Dude I can imagine the goons showing up then suddenly a sedan screeches around a corner with two scott brown agents firing their legendary pistols at the corporate goons yelling "SCOTT BROWN MOTHER FUCKERS, STEP AWAY FROM THE FUCKING BUILDING"
SCOTT BROWN MOTHER FUCKERS, *BLAM* GET THE FUCK OUT, *BLAM* I GOT A SHOWING! *BLAM BLAM*
Shadowrun is awesome. There is a session with Mike Pondsmith where he runs this scenario. Now add a shaman PC to this and a nice troll with gauss on the roof.
Scott Brown dont mess around.
This is basically an Assault on Precinct 13 scenario. You can use this in basically any genre.
Western, Sci-Fi, Fantasy.
Its one of the best kind of scenarios to create a team of PC also.
Sent your Scott Brown video to a cop friend that used to live in Denton. He loved it.
I ran this for 3 of my buddies on new years day. We had a rocker boy, solo, techie as our edgerunners and our techie wound up being our 80's action hero. It was amazing.
I ran cyberpunk 2020 on new years eve, we played 2020 until 2020
@@fredricknoe3114 i was waiting for my 2020 book to come in
Why you always have Scott Brown in your corner. Nobody screws with Scott Brown. Not even those Corporate goons.
That new leather jacket really completes the look for CyberJack! That bit with him yelling out the window was hysterical- not to mention that eventually Scott freaking Brown gets involved!! Awesome video, Seth!
That callback!
Scott Brown will always call back.
You know, I've never played Cyberpunk, CoC, Traveller, but I click these videos so quickly, and love them completely.
Honestly, I'd think that they're probably spending more money trying to steal this place then they'd spend just buying it.
If you pay your mercs once the job's done...
Well, that's the in-game reason why the attack eventually stops. They don't want to run over-budget.
It's The Raid films. Or for a deeper cut for gamers, Judge Dredd - Block Wars!
They should have hired SCOTT BROWN to take care of the property.....
This is the perfect scenario to introduce to my group. I can't wait to play it. Also the new jacket for Cyberpunk Jack looks awesome!
I LOVED this one! It was one of the BEST adventures I ever ran. My players still have it many adventures later. The players obviously LOVED it too.
There's a Temple University dorm in Philly called "The Edge"... It would be perfect for this mod. Look it up, most of it goes up 15 floors but the "edge" part only has 3 floors. It's a very secure place to live, you need a keycard in order to go into the living area. Like it was made for the game...
Always a bright day when another skorkowsky vid comes up on my feed :)
I played this one on a stream on the Grim n Perilous twitch. It was a lot of fun and our GM used several of the attack options. It got bloody and cinematic, but I liked the scenario a great deal. A good intro to Cyberpunk for new players and a good re-intro for returning players.
I'm wishing I had this a couple of months ago when I ran the apartment. Though I decided to have the Andersons betray the party. It resulted in a someone thinking it was a terror attack when the explosives were planted in another building
My players mugged & robbed the old lady.
as a Cyberpunk player and GM since 1990, I always love new Cyberpunk content!
Hey Seth! Awesome review as usual! Quick question: will you review the core book now that it is out? I loved your review of CoC and ended up buying it, so maybe your input is all it takes for me to give cyberpunk a try! Thanks again for the great material you give us.
That is a GOOD look for Jack the NPC!
My group and I just did this adventure as our intro to Cyberpunk RED and we had a ton of fun. Rolls got crazy and made for some great moments and action sequence. And the Solo, Julian, from the Unknown Caller scenario managed to escape when our Netrunner shot him and managed to get a critical injury and destroyed his cyberarm. Now I have him planned as a recurring enemy with a vendetta against the group for being humiliated by a little girl who threw a victory sign at him and UwU’d him after wrecking his arm.
I ran this and through all the potential dangers against my players. They used flash bangs and a grenade to flush out the solo firefighters. (One player was the landlord and allowed the damage to the building). The bioterrorist lady was the traitor and a fight between her and the player who had a crush on her went down on the top floor.
Pretty cool scenario. I am waiting to get a translation of Cyberpunk Red to get an edition.
Say Seth!
I’ve been thinking of starting a game with a few of my coworkers. This is their first time playing ttrpgs (except for one who played D&d back in the 70’s) but they’re all big fans of the Cyberpunk aesthetic and a few are fans of LotR.
Should I start them on Cyberpunk or should I use Shadowrun on them?
I'd go with Cyberpunk. Keep it simple. The wild mix of tech and fantasy tropes in Shadowrun will instantly turn off some people.
I've been a massive Cyberpunk fan for a long time, so I am biased on which on I think is the best. But since you have LotR fans, Shadowrun is definitely worth considering. I'd start by asking them if they want straight sci-fi cyberpunk or if they want some fantasy mixed in.
If they are in to LotR's try and find a copy of The One Ring,
My vote would be Cyberpunk 2020 or wait for Red,
(obviously I'm not Seth!) I'm a veteran Shadowrun player and GM. As much as I love the game, it could get overwhelming for first-timers. The problem with Shadowrun is that you have to deal with three different layers of reality at once: the physical plane, the Astral plane, and the virtual reality Matrix. No one player will be dealing with all three of these at once, but as a GM you will. The game does have systems to deal with that, but it can be tricky to get the hang of.
Shadowrun does have a consistent dice system for everything, so it's not too tough to learn. Basically everything is, Attribute+ Skill= number of dice you roll.
I'd say, talk it over with your players and see which one they prefer. Cyberpunk is more of a straight, well, cyberpunk. There isn't any metaphysical weirdness, it's all megacorporations and speed and edge and cybernetics and guns. Shadowrun is more of a dystopian urban fantasy. It's a "what if magic started working again 2012?" and takes the cyberpunk train there. Humans started giving birth to elves and dwarves, some people spontaneously mutated into orks and trolls, spirits came back, and all of this is beautifully incorporated into the setting. Corporations have magic research labs, and MIT (the university) has been renamed MIT&M, with the extra M being for "and Magic"). It really depends which flavor of dystopian Orwellian nightmare you prefer. Have fun, and welcome to the hobby!
As much as I love Shadowrun, there is so much to explain with that setting for newcomers. Cyberpunk is pretty simple. Cool outfits, evil corporations, cyborgs and 90's era hacking. Boom! Go!
Whether I play the games or not, I always love these videos! Thanks a lot Seth!
YES!!! Been waiting for this review, and just got the starter set to run next session; perfect timing, Seth!
I have my Jumpstart Kit already, but watching your videos is as always entertaining. I just wonder when you will do some Shadowrun content. PS. There's a video with Mike Pondsmith GMing this script.
Hi Seth! Are you ever going to review the core book of cyberpunk RED? :-)
Oh this is a cool adventure, it’s basically the same one Mike Pondsmith used when running Cyberpunk 2020 with IGN staffers a while back
Your vids are informative and so much fun.
Thanks for all the effort!
Having watched 2 of your Cyberpunk videos now, I have been convinced to pick it up, it seems so fun and interesting.
Man I'm about to run this on thursday. Your timing's impeccable.
Did Jack go super saiyan? XD
Hey Seth. Been watching a ton of your RPG reviews and I'm loving it. I'm starting to ref for a new cyberpunk 2020 game and was wondering if you have plans to make more reviews on other scenarios 2020, would love to see your take on them. Keep doing what you're doing man its great!
Thank you for this review. Now, I've another game I want to try. Here's hoping I live long enough to try them all out! I appreciate that you shared your reasons for your GM decisions; it helps me grasp the plot flow better.
Thank you so much for this. im running my first session as GM and im super nervous. your video help me alot!
great review, and started grinning as soon as I realised what was coming in the ending skit
I will master it Sunday ! Thanks for that great video :)
very good review. glad to see that the box has some great content
There's literally a Temple University dorm in Philly called "The Edge"... It's a high security building where you need a keycard to enter the living area, a rec area, a gym and concrete stair fire escapes on either side, plus the apts all connect so 3 ways out of every room... It also has a part that only goes up 3 floors. The other side goes up about 15. You can see the roof and into the 3 story rooms from the 15 story side. Great for stealth and sniping. Check it out, I bet it's perfect for this mod.
Awesome video! Love that callback? Any more call of cthulhu scenario reviews coming soon? Those are the best. Maybe another modern scenario?
I'm glad the full rules are out now. I'll still be using the Jumpstart Kit rules but change the DVs to core rules and add cover rules.
It'll make it easier for me to introduce myself to the rules.
sounds like a great intro scenario. I agree that using it as a base would def work for a longer campaign. this gives me some ideas. now i just need to get some cyberpunk rulebooks.
Getting caught up with the Cyberpunk Red content. When I run The Apartment for my friends, I'm definitely incorporating the Scott Brown Agency.
Great costume!
Nice Scott Brown reference at the end.
Wish I could like twice for the Scott brown reference
The idea of a player turning an NPC from their lifepath into a PC after their character dies is total gold!
Wow.. I wish I could have thought of that!
We do that in all our RPG's just to let the player keep playing; he can roll up a new permanent character before the next session or just keep playing the NPC as a PC.
Kudos from RunicNeonTelescope!
We love to play CP Red. We use it for "shortgigs" and when the players main characters in our CP2020 campaign hires other mercs to help them in side missions and the like.
(for example the mercenary gang "Bubblegum Terror" (yeah, sometimes random name generators can put you in interesting situations...) that the players hired to draw the attention of a Militech convoy while the main characters broke into their base and rescued some of the players main characters that had been arrested for stealing stuff from Militech. The players first played the crazy gang of Bubblegum Terrors (they all have chewing gum callsigns like: Trident, Orbit, Wrigley, Hubba Bubba, eclipse, etc.) that are all the things their Main characters are not (reckless, impulsive, violent, and a bit crazy) so it was a lot of fun and the players could "let loose" and "blow off some steam" with the temporary characters. Something that ended up with a lot of crazy fun action movie stunts. The plan went supricingly well and the Bubblegum Terrors are now contacts to the main characters. =)
Then its perfect with its quick and simple rules. But sometimes its a bit too simplified. Especially when your used to cp2020. For example covers, as Seth said, but also full auto for example. Sure 3rnd burst works, but common, street thugs (and many player solos) dont want to just shoot 3rounds with their uzis and ARs! =)
And there are many more things that we found missing, things that doesnt make the game more "light" and "streamlined" just because they skipped it, on the contrary, without them it bogs down the game because now we have to sit down and make houserules for them.
A couple of examples would also be great, a couple of vehicles with stats for example, a small list of prices would help a lot, and so on...
good review
Great look Jack... er Seth
I always wonder why the corp doesn't just have the building seized under eminent domain rather than going for a high risk assault on the building. I guess there's wouldn't be a scenario if they did that.
I want that Umbrella shirt.
This takes place in an apartment building and your players have NPC friends in the building? Am I the only one thinking this sounds like it could have been a mash up of a 90s sitcom like Seinfeld or Friends and Cyberpunk?
Not at all.

The PCs constantly getting trouble from a cyborg Newman. Or better yet, an android Newman, called "Nu Man".
>Seinfeld beat but with gunfire.
Sweet scenario. Just wondering what your thoughts on Cyberpunk Red main sourcebook are and when we can expect review?
Are you going to the review the In the real adventure? I ran an inverse version of that adventure
SCOTT BROWN, GET THE FUCK OUT....I GOT A SHOWING. (Shots fired)
Scott: So this is the apartment you were looking at.
NPC: Yes
Party: (Panicing next door)
As a person who doesn't know the hack about Cyberpunk Red, but who is from Kyiv... Maybe drones? Like, these drones made out of who knows what and filled with explosives, that sound like motorbikes while flying. I mean, they can't really destroy the building, but can do a substantial amount of damage; and it's also possible to strike them down with regular bullets, so I guess player characters should have a way to deal with them, even if not without colleteral damage. They are also cheap (by military standards anyway) and can be launched from far away.
It’s a golden rule for every RPG that inheriting *anything* is bad news....I don’t know about you, but I’m champing at the bit for more Cyberpunk Red stuff to be published!
Yeah, I'm really eager to get my hands on the full rules.
Hey so the new alien RPG came a short time ago. just curious if you will be reviewing that one at some I heard it’s pretty good.
Just coming back to rewatch a last time before running it today.
Gonna do the streetscum face off at the start, just hoping my players are smart enough to not open fire on random kids/the people with ARs
Good luck. Hope you all have fun with it.
Love the review. I've been doing cover like headshots, with a -6 to the attackers roll. What was your final verdict?
From the JSK, since there's no set rule for cover I personally I apply a -4 and take it as obscured, if it fails it damages the cover, if the cover takes enough damage it is destroyed.
In the full rulebook cover has set HP depending on what (5-50) it is and get destroyed after a while from what I've been told.
This reminds me of dystopian Italian film about an evil corporation trying to drive squatting gangers out of the Bronx.
Oh, i know that one, Pondsmith ran it with IGN guys in one of their videos, i think. It was quite fun.
"Scott somethin'..." LMAO!!
An interesting video. Unfortunately I doubt I'll be playing Cyperpunk Red soon if ever. Though pretty much every group I've ever been part of made PC deaths semi-optional. The GM would warn a player if something they were planning was incredibly high risk, and if they took the risk the results were on them but deaths in combat were almost always downgraded to knock outs or captures because we all felt )Players and GMs alike) that spending all the time to make a character and then losing them and having to redo it because of a bad die roll or two wasn't fun.
If I never played 2020 would you advise jumping into Red? Are the sourcebooks and such backwards compatible or will I start off in a content desert? Love the video, as usual!
All that's out for Red so-far is the trimmed-down version in the Jumpstart Kit. Full rules are to release later this year. From what I've read, the rules look to be mostly backwards compatible. Like 70% Not as smooth as Call of Cthulhu, but more than D&D. Not sure how that'll be once the full rules come out. They might be less compatible then.
@@SSkorkowsky Reckon it's at least worth a shot then based on your reviews thus far. Thanks for the feedback!
I miss both Cyberpunk and Shadowrun. We played a lot of both years ago but there's not been an opportunity since. I already run two RPG games, and would rather play if a third opportunity came up like this.
Hey man, I know you only review games you've played, so I was wondering if you were gonna play the newest edition of Shadowrun. I'm trying to set up a game for my mom and my uncle, since they used to play when they were younger, and I wanted to know your opinions/suggestions.
Sorry. I haven't.
How many players do you think is best for this?
Hi seth I'm actually going to be doing a cyberpunk 2020 session in a couple weeks but I've been having a hard time figuring out ranges for my squares any advice cuz I can't seem to find it in the rulebook?
I don't think Cyberpunk 2020 ever specified, but in Red 1 in Squares are 2 meters/yds, which was we'd decided for 2020.
@@SSkorkowsky ok cuz I was thinking about doing each Square was 10 meters, that's why I thought I would ask someone else who has run a session in the system, and I just ordered two jumpstarter copies for the cyberpunk red so can't wait to look at that.
Does anyone have a version of this moduel that would work in Cyberpunk 2020?
Glad I stayed and watched the credits XD
How can I make travel in my cyberpunk games more interesting? Like if the party has to go from a part of the city to another but I don't wante them to stop at every single minimarket or bar they find
Hey Seth, would recommend this a first mission for a new campaign of Cyberpunk RED? If not what would you recommend for a first mission for Cyberpunk RED? New players and GM.
It think it's a pretty good one as it establishes a home base of the apartment building. If you're looking to do a campaign with it, I'd add some stuff nearby like bars or shops that they might frequent as well as some local NPCs that will serve as future hooks or enemies, like a local Fixer who can get them stuff or some local gang that operates in the area or some crime boss that sends his thugs in looking for 'Protection Money'. Bringing in a new PC can be simple as they're someone who they meet as they move into the apartment.
@@SSkorkowsky thanks for that! I honestly wasn’t expecting a response so quick!
just ran my first game of CP 2020 earlier today over videochat and the guys love this system (yeah i say guys even though there's two women in our group, so what) but they want my sci fi novel to be the world and now i got to convert a lot of stuff and even find a way to incoporate the mutants (i guess they use the cybernetic stuff like bullet proof skin and the like) but i got some preparing
I started running this one off, and decided to run it directly into my campaign. They cannot save their building, it will come down and will be framed as terrorists by Militech because they chose to kill the militech body guards in the beginning. At that point they will be forced to flee the city for a while before coming back to take their vengeance. Hopefully I can make it fun and interesting for my players. They are my nephews and this is all brand new for us all.
Who made that battle grid you showed?
With Scott Brown handling the building WorldSat won't try again. Those real estate agents don't mess around.
Was it just me, or were a couple of audio hiccups in this video. I am awaiting CPRed's release. I am a long time Shadowrun player/GM and fan, but I don't think my current players can handle that game. Too much going on, and they have trouble staying focused if they aren't involved in the current action. So I am hoping Red will be a good substitute. Edit for a typo
I used 3 of the 4 attacks
Hey Seth, how do you feel Cyberpunk Red stacks up to 2020?
From what I've seen in the Jumpstart Kit, I like the way it's heading, but I'll have to wait until the full Cyberpunk Red rules release before I can make a true comparison.
Sounds like a groundbound Traveller ship.
Good ol' reineken beer
Seth have you done starfinder rpg reviews? 🤔
Sorry. Never played it.
Seth Skorkowsky it’s a really fun system! I’d love to hear or see your videos takes on it if you ever try it out. 😊
From my limited reading of it, it appears to be a Class-Based system, which (if it is) makes it less appealing for my players and I. We're more into Skill-Based engines. We're also enjoying Mongoose Traveller a lot and I don't see us switching to a new sci-fi game for a very long time.
Seth Skorkowsky completely understandable 😊

lmfao Scott Brown - the first name in Real Estate
Yeah I ran this and it went mediocre. Really it was my fault, first time with anything cyberpunk (ran a totally made up one-shot later in old cyberpunk where they snuck into a corp building to get some strange chemicals and to get it vented some weird gas into the building that turned out to be a horrific mutagen that made the staff zombie like freaks and they had to fight their way out, that went great), the problem was in difficulty. I gave the characters their full setup and the corporate guards that attacked were lightly armored with smg's. They literally couldn't hurt the fully armored solo.
Does Seth run a discord sever?
I do not.
@@SSkorkowsky Cool, I only ask because your community seems really chill and I'm looking around for communities to talk about game design with. What people look for in RPGs stuff like that.
